We visited this park while driving through the area. This park is nice and has some great features that you won't find at other parks. There are bathrooms, but I don't know that I would use them as there are quite a few homeless people that hang around in this park.

I love this park. I grew up right around the corner on Engle and Garfield.... I have awesome memories of playing at Carmichael park. From little league baseball, birthday parties, Small and large gated Dog parks, multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, frisbee Golf, Tennis Racket ball Courts and swimming in the ever missed public pool. Carmichael park recently started having an open air market on sat-sun. You can find gourmet Brick oven pizza on wheels, fruits, vegetables, and canned goods. Also a wide verity of locals that bring a taste of there cultures to the vendor circle. Carmichael parks and recreation also hold many events that coincide with the holidays. Santa clause with gift donations. The Easter Bunny and egg hunts. Saint Patric's day parade. Feed the need programs of thanks giving. Any and all other activities don't hesitate to call Carmichael parks and Rec, or simple pick up a free copy of the Carmichael Chronicle newspaper and events calendar from the majority of Carmichael's local business. We hope this Yelp's....;) THX Dave and Erica

    Cactus Show Today!

I love Carmichael Park because once a year it hosts one of my favorite events... The Carmichael Cactus and Succulent Society Plant Show and Sale! It is held in the clubhouse, with half the space dedicated to the plant show and half to the plant sale. In May of every year, the CC&SS Members get together to showcase their best plants on display for everyone to marvel at. Each plant is artfully displayed, some you will never see again they are so rare. Definitely worth the trip! But if that wasn't enough, there is also a cactus and succulent sale where club members have tons and tons of plants for sale. From $1 to $100, from spiky to soft, there is something for everyone. My favorite vendor is "Norman" who has the largest cactus and succulent garden in Northern California... In his backyard! He brings large cuttings of his plants to every sale. These are large plants that can be immediately planted in the ground, or kept in one of the many beautiful pots they are sold in. These plants would normally go for $25-100 in the store, but his exceptional plants are for sale for only $10-35. Amazing! The CC&SS show for 2014 has already happened on May 17th and 18th, so make sure to mark your calendars for next year! All money raised goes right back into the club.

It used to be pretty sketchy here but they've cleaned it up a lot and I love the new playground!

Carter & Buster say Woof! We love going to Carmichael Dog Park!!! The park is clean, big and very, very rarely are there problems with aggressive dogs. When it does come up the community of pet people take care of it quickly and diplomatically. There are several disposal stations for pet waste and bags and scoops are provided. Tennis balls are in good supply and there are kiddie pools. Plenty of seating sun or shade available...This is one great off leash park for socializing, meeting nice dogs and their people! Five paws up!

This is the only park I know of around that has a small dog side so the pittbulls wont maul my yorkie. Everytime I bring my dog she has a blast. There's almost always some shady people roaming around but never seen any in the actual dog park. Great place to let the kids go tire themselves out in the playground while the dog is being tuckered out at the same time.

Awesome park. Multiple playgrounds with steep slides. There's a stage area where I play the role of a dancing fool ( it's a love story ). Couple of baseball fields are fine and dandy my son loves to play in the infield. There's a disc golf course and lots of tennis courts. Also a canine playtime area.

My granddaughter who is 8, loved the splash pad & the younger kids playground. The park is not gated and is adjacent to a walking path. Be careful if you have a little runner. The splash pad has a high water bucket dumping water in different directions. There was only one working water spout for the little kids when we came and the frog sprays water but you have to click the yellow button on the blue pole to make it work once it turns off. The older kids playground she loved the round rope swings but did get rope scrapes on back of both legs from swinging on them so be careful. Next time will use a towel under her legs. The big net play structure is fun if you want to just climb around but to get to the slides there is a big gap between the net structures that you have to go past in order to work your way across the rope bridge then to the slide. She was disappointed she couldn't get over to slides as a big gap she couldn't reach other side safely. Really wish there were rope stairs going straight up to slide area so kids can play on slide that can't do rope structure. The younger kids playground was nice. Multiple climbing structures that included a slide, rope hammock, a turning swing type activity. Parking is along the street only. Park has Drinking fountains and clean bathrooms. There are two picnic table areas. One down by the playgrounds and another by the splash pad.

There are 2 picnic bench areas where you can settle in with food/supplies, as well as an adjacent bathroom and pickleball court. Large grassy area to run around and a small walking trail as well. There's plenty of room to expand, so hopefully they can add additional amenities moving forward. Plenty of adjacent street parking in the community. Recommended.

Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. Too far for us to come regularly but likely coming back for the train ride during holidays when I think they usually have a Santa there. (You need advance tix for this)

Very easy to miss the entrance due to the fast-moving traffic on the main road. The gravel parking lot is a bit small, so it fills up fast. If full, the next best thing would be probably to circle around to the back where the Carmichael Community Garden is. It has a gravel lot, with a paved walkway connecting to the botanical garden. If you can, go on a weekday! I went on Sunday afternoon, and there were 3-4 small families and a large group doing photoshoots. Plenty of benches throughout and a huge grassy area perfect for picnics. Though I didn't see much, it would be best to keep an eye out for dog poop. It's a nice place to check out if you're already in the area. Depending on what you're hoping to see, it may not be worth the trek. Of all the flowers, roses make up the majority. Unless it's through your camera, you won't be able to see a small portion of flowers and bushes up close due to how the garden is arranged.
