    Main kids playground

It's a nice park, but it's just really small. There are 2 kids playgrounds next to each other, and both are tiny. There's also a small picnic area. There's tiny splash zone with only 2 toys. Whichever poor kid decides to use it is going to be bored after 1 minute. Normally, I would consider this a 3-star instead of a 4-star park, but I realize it was built just for this community. It's not a big community, so it didn't need a big park.

    Littler playground

Fair oaks parks and rec has done a terrific job bringing a modern multi-use play and exercise space to the area! The park features two playgrounds made for all ages that invite open-ended gross motor movement on the rope webs, swings and slides. Littler explorers can climb and slide on a smaller scale, and a merry-go-round allows many to spin and play at once. I'm especially excited about the splash pad: a frog fountain, dump bucket and three in-ground fountains. There isn't information posted, but I imagine the features will be turned on in May and off in September. A gravel walking path stretches the length of the park and beyond. Two pergolas shade three tables with a bbq. New bathrooms are clean and have a baby changing table in each room. Great work to all the planners! We may have just found our new favorite park!

    Big kid playground side

The playground is fairly unique, lots of opportunities to climb. The only way to the slide for the bigger kids is to climb different ropes, the smaller side has age appropriate ropes as well but also a little ladder/steps to climb as an alternative. It's a great opportunity for kids to take (totally safe) risks. The splash pad isn't huge but has different options for kids depending on their age/bravery. I don't know what the splash pad's hours are, but I've gone on weekdays (in May) and it's been open during the day and until (at least) 5:30 pm.

Small but it's in a secluded area. Two different play areas. Definitely kid and toddler friendly

Very easy to miss the entrance due to the fast-moving traffic on the main road. The gravel parking lot is a bit small, so it fills up fast. If full, the next best thing would be probably to circle around to the back where the Carmichael Community Garden is. It has a gravel lot, with a paved walkway connecting to the botanical garden. If you can, go on a weekday! I went on Sunday afternoon, and there were 3-4 small families and a large group doing photoshoots. Plenty of benches throughout and a huge grassy area perfect for picnics. Though I didn't see much, it would be best to keep an eye out for dog poop. It's a nice place to check out if you're already in the area. Depending on what you're hoping to see, it may not be worth the trek. Of all the flowers, roses make up the majority. Unless it's through your camera, you won't be able to see a small portion of flowers and bushes up close due to how the garden is arranged.

Small flower garden in the front with a paved trail that dead ends after about 1/2 mile. I would say you could spend about 30-45 minutes here. I imagine it would be nice to visit if you lived close, but there are definitely better gardens in Sacramento and surrounding area. The flower portion of this park is next to a very busy street, so there's lot of noise from the cars. Almost missed the entrance driving by. Glad I went, but don't think I'd be back.

They have a tiny farm there, we saw 2 pigs. More animals available to interact w on Saturdays. Suggested donation $2pp. They take cash there. I thought u needed advanced tickets so bought online but it's really just whoever wants to ride can line up. https://www.svlsrm.org/ Duck pond: tons of duck and geese Water area: part of american river?? Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. Too far for us to come regularly but likely coming back for the train ride during holidays when I think they usually have a Santa there. (You need advance tix for this)

September 24, 2025 - Rancho Cordova, CA…read more The fenced dog park is great! There's plenty of room for pups to run, with separate areas for big dogs and for small ones (under 15" in height). A few chairs are available for owners, plus a little swimming pool filled with water for the dogs. The grass and shade trees make it extra inviting. It's clear this park is very well cared for.
