Local park in old Fair Oaks Village has a lot of chickens running around. Has a decent size playground for both younger and older children. Has two pair of swing sets for all ages and is loved by everyone.

This is one of our favorite parks! I have been going to this park in Old Fair Oaks for several years now with my mom and now as an adult taking my daughter here is really special! Their are lots of chickens and roosters running around for her to see, large open grass for dogs to run around, bathrooms, a stage and also nice little shops, a theater for plays and restaurants located near by! I would recommend checking this place out, it's amazing!

Come to the "Chicken Festival" it is alway fun and lots of music and food. This fun event is September 15th from 10:00 - 6:00... this will be a clucking good time....

Hometown favorite, I remember coming as a KID! Such a great gem of The Village. I visit often, and get a KICK out of the beautiful chickens! Great little park for a picnic, OR photo location! I love coming through during the holidays, while shopping in the village. Also a great place to sit and enjoy finds from the Farmer's Market (nearby.) Love my HOME town, and this lovely childhood fave!

During the summer there is a free concert every Thursday night. Bring lawn-chairs, coolers, wine, beer, and snacks. If you want they have concessions to include ice cream and the usual treats. Last Thursday my friends and I listened to one of the best cover bands I have ever hear, "Jax-Hammer" was awesome. Parking is a bit challenging but I found looking for a closed business is your best bet. Arrive early and invite friends.

I have Always adored walking around this park. It's very clear that this town lives its roosters and that is what makes this park unique! The roosters are always wondering around the green hills and showing off for tourist! There is a children's theater here with a live stage and performances. You can also see people practicing Tai Chi in the morning and some nights there is a drum circle! The park has a mellow vibe and is a great place to visit all of the time. It's a great place for children or have a picnic and just watch the squirts/roosters!

Concerts at the Park in th summer time.

Cute, grassy park with wild roosters roaming around. There is a stage where bands play on Thursday nights during the summer time and almost the whole town comes with their picnic, blankets, and lawn chairs. Dogs and families are welcomed and folks are encouraged to dance on the square cement block near the swings, grab a slice of pizza, hotdog, or root beer float, support the event by purchasing a knickknack. Concerts in the Park really creates a wholesome sense of community.

Cool vibe, sweet tunes, fun folks! Bring a chair, cob a squat, eat some grub and chillax with your friends and neighbors.

This is the best park / village in sacramento! They do a lot for the community. Very safe, clean, and child friendly neighborhood.

Roos (roosters) for days & plenty of shade. When I need to escape for fresh air; stretching my gams, I mosey on down here.

Our visit was in July 2025 to this cute Fair Oaks park within a small neighborhood. The park has a…read moresmall splash pad, and two playgrounds one for younger and older children. My granddaughter who is 8, loved the splash pad & the younger kids playground. The park is not gated and is adjacent to a walking path. Be careful if you have a little runner. The splash pad has a high water bucket dumping water in different directions. There was only one working water spout for the little kids when we came and the frog sprays water but you have to click the yellow button on the blue pole to make it work once it turns off. The older kids playground she loved the round rope swings but did get rope scrapes on back of both legs from swinging on them so be careful. Next time will use a towel under her legs. The big net play structure is fun if you want to just climb around but to get to the slides there is a big gap between the net structures that you have to go past in order to work your way across the rope bridge then to the slide. She was disappointed she couldn't get over to slides as a big gap she couldn't reach other side safely. Really wish there were rope stairs going straight up to slide area so kids can play on slide that can't do rope structure. The younger kids playground was nice. Multiple climbing structures that included a slide, rope hammock, a turning swing type activity. Parking is along the street only. Park has Drinking fountains and clean bathrooms. There are two picnic table areas. One down by the playgrounds and another by the splash pad.

There are 2 picnic bench areas where you can settle in with food/supplies, as well as an adjacent bathroom and pickleball court. Large grassy area to run around and a small walking trail as well. There's plenty of room to expand, so hopefully they can add additional amenities moving forward. Plenty of adjacent street parking in the community. Recommended.

Very easy to miss the entrance due to the fast-moving traffic on the main road. The gravel parking lot is a bit small, so it fills up fast. If full, the next best thing would be probably to circle around to the back where the Carmichael Community Garden is. It has a gravel lot, with a paved walkway connecting to the botanical garden. If you can, go on a weekday! I went on Sunday afternoon, and there were 3-4 small families and a large group doing photoshoots. Plenty of benches throughout and a huge grassy area perfect for picnics. Though I didn't see much, it would be best to keep an eye out for dog poop. It's a nice place to check out if you're already in the area. Depending on what you're hoping to see, it may not be worth the trek. Of all the flowers, roses make up the majority. Unless it's through your camera, you won't be able to see a small portion of flowers and bushes up close due to how the garden is arranged.

A little underwhelming. Would be a great place for pictures, but not so much to travel to for…read morebotanical garden. Small flower garden in the front with a paved trail that dead ends after about 1/2 mile. I would say you could spend about 30-45 minutes here. I imagine it would be nice to visit if you lived close, but there are definitely better gardens in Sacramento and surrounding area. The flower portion of this park is next to a very busy street, so there's lot of noise from the cars. Almost missed the entrance driving by. Glad I went, but don't think I'd be back.

Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. A few chairs are available for owners, plus a little swimming pool filled with water for the dogs. The grass and shade trees make it extra inviting. It's clear this park is very well cared for.
