Larchmont Park is tucked away in the quiet neighborhood close to Folsom and Tiber. There's a lot of open green space to run around and play frisbee with the pup. Afterwards we explored the levee and the river running along aside. We noticed a couple of playgrounds of the younger kids, and tennis courts. It looks like on some days the field is most used for kids soccer games . It's a well maintained park with easy parking, and there were some port a potty's nearby. When we visited we saw a handful of people walking their dogs, young families with kids playing , lots of grass and pretty fall colored trees . Enjoy :)

We walked our dogs here last weekend; there was just a handful of people with whom we shared the park and nearby trails. From the southwest entrance, you'll enter onto a large, flat field the dogs will want to sprint across (ours did). Along the left side is the levee and a more stagnant slough of the American River. If you want to walk along the levee or its trails, you'll find lots of interesting trees and wildlife. Do know that coyotes are present. Also, this is the post-spawning season, so your dogs may go crazy over the smells and even want to eat or roll in a dead salmon. You were warned! One mile west along the levee will take you to the La Riviera/Watt levee entrance. If you go east, you will eventually get some nice views and access points to the American River. You can jog several miles in this direction and the scenery is worth it!

This park is a hidden gem in East Sac. It's located right…read moreoff of the East Lawn Memorial cemetery and doesn't easily show up on maps. Hahaha. But it's a clean, shaded park with a small play structure and sandbox for kids to play in. They have a nice green lawn too which is fun for parties or picnics. One of the better parks to go to in the summer as there is a shade and lots of trees keeping it cooler than most parks. Parking can be a bit iffy as Folsom is a bo parking zone and 42nd St serves the residents who need to park so on busy days or events (like the holidays) it can be tough to find parking.

However, recently I decided to venture back because it is so close to where I live, which makes it a lot more convenient than the other local dog parks. I've been here three times since, all on a weekday evening. The good: huge area for the large dogs to run around, with plenty of grass. Dogs have plenty of space to play with each other, or wander away if needed. The main sitting area is also away from the entrance, so I don't feel like my dog gets mobbed when we first get in. All the dogs so far have been really friendly and well socialized. It definitely seems like there is a regular good sized group of people who go at the time I have been going, which is nice. People are friendly and seem to care about how their dogs are acting/reacting. Poop bag canisters are always well stocked. The ok: along with the grass there is also a lot of dirt and some muddy areas, which is a bummer when my dumb dog decides he wants a mud bath... The bad: out of all the parks I've been to, this place seems the worst with owners cleaning up after their pets. I understand its a grassy area and sometimes hard to find, but I keep an eagle eye on my dog at all times and usually after doing a few minutes of searching, am able to find where he pooped. Along the way I usually find 3-4 older poop piles. I pick up what I can, but it would be nice if people were more considerate about that. No one wants to step in poop, or have it get on their dog to bring back into their car. There also tend to be some homeless always walking around the park as other reviews have mentioned. However, I haven't been bothered by them. I feel like there are less around right now too because its summer and there appears to be a lot of sporting/family activities going on in the evening. Might be different when the weather and sunlight hours change. Overall, the park has been really good. My dog seems to like it too, which is the most important!

Misbehaving dogs and BAD OWNERS. This one lady lets her gray grate Dane bully other smaller dogs. She owns a Great Dane and a chihuahua and is just there to socialize like all the other owners. Playgrounds and BBQ's, a lot of grass, trees and a pathway for walking, riding or running, it's got it all. During baseball season you can catch a little league game, the same for soccer. My son played flag football a long time ago there too. The community gets together there for events and over the summer the food trucks visit there weekly. Can't ask for a better park.

The park is pretty big and lots of fields with grass. Today they had all the Sheriff's Departments units out there for kids to see and ask questions. They had the helicopter there along with their bomb unit, gangs, civil and the sheriff cadets as well as the marines cadet. OMG the burgers were amazing . My buddy can really BBQ. So months later here we are. They have the play area then there is a giant field area that is WELL GROOMED and there's a cemented path all throughout the park so when the boys ride their scooters they can ride all the way around. They also have a sand box area as well. I love the neighborhood Maddox park is located in as well. They have an area you can have a party in right between the field and the playground. This park is definitely one thats very well groomed and very well taken care of. People that come here definitely take pride in it. There is a school behind the park. Starr King school. The boys seemed to really take to this park and let me know this is one of their new favorites.

We came on a Sunday and there were quite a few people, many relaxing in their own chairs while their small dogs played. All the pups were friendly, and there was plenty of grassy space for them to run around. The large dog area also looked very nice--clean, spacious, and completely empty by the time we left. Overall, a great spot for both small and large dogs.

It is still watering as much as in the high temp months. Not only is this a huge waste of water but it turns the park into a mud hole that is really troublesome and unnecessary Otherwise it's a great place to take the fur babies.
