This bull mastiff is so sweet, reminds me of the dog from the Sandlot!

We have been taking our Goldendoodle puppy here for awhile now and he really seems to enjoy it! Being a social dog, he loves to play, especially with other doodles, standard poodles and labs! And of course he loves to fetch all the tennis balls he finds lol! Our eldest will even climb into the little pool to cool off with the dogs after playing with them lol! I would HIGHLY recommend this great dog park to help burn off your fur child's energy! For me not only is it fun exercise, but it's very therapeutic playing with all the dogs and socializing with other dog parents! This dog park has 3 separate play areas, one for small dogs, one for large dogs and one for dogs that don't socialize well with others. They provide plenty of water to drink and the park has restrooms and a water fountain for the humans. We'll continue to come back, as well as recommend it to others! Happy Labor Day! SYOY! :-) * Music Credit: Mornings by Jeff Kaale

This is a run of the mill dog park nestled off Hazel Avenue in Fair Oaks. It's attached to Phoenix Park, which appears to be used mostly for kids soccer games. There are also public restrooms available. The dog park itself is a decent size, with separated areas for large, small, and shy/puppies. The major drawback, however, is that the entire dog park has very little shade with only a couple of small pergolas big enough to cover a single bench and few chairs throughout. I'm actually shocked that a community space in Fair Oaks has this few of trees. On a summer day this unfortunately made for a short, hot visit with very few dogs present. It's unlikely I'd go out of my way to bring my dog here again versus the nearby larger and shaded C-Bar-C dog park. If you do visit and you're not northbound on Hazel, do yourself a favor and turn on Sunset to enter the park and follow the signs that will wrap you around to the dog area.

My neighbor told me about this park. I brought my doggies. This is only their second time. What I like about this one...it has an area away from other dogs you can walk and play with your dog if your training them or if they have not interacted with other dogs before. They have little swimming pools and a water hose. This is a big dog park. A large are for the big dogs and a huge area for little dogs. They also have a walking path and bathrooms. I would recommend this park for your dog...

Went here in the late afternoon and the weather was great. Lots of friendly people and nice dogs. There are lots of tennis balls for the dogs and chairs for owners. Unfortunately, too many people with medium to big dogs insist on letting their dogs play with the little dogs because "they get lonely" in the play area for the big dogs. If these owners were a bit more aware of this and saw how they scare the little dogs, I'd give the park five stars.

My dog Argo adores this park, especially the private area for not so social dogs. I use to take him in to the anti-social part for a while to calm him down, he is a very over active dog, then take him over to the big dog park to play. The dog owners were so friendly, most of them anyway, and they were always watchful of their pets and pretty good about picking up after them too. What I also enjoyed about this dog park is that it is connected to a very large pretty park with a good sized walking trail that I would take my dog on once he was done playing. I have yet to find a dog park like it.

It is a very pet friendly park with lots of space for the dogs to run around and play.

Not sure. Can fish there! Playground: With climate change, unpredictable weather, and summers with many days over 100F, would be nice if all parks in the sac area provided shade. This one has shade only over a small set of swings by a picnic area/ by the trains & barn. The main playground had shade near it but no shade over the play structures. Kids going down the slides could get burned- recommend putting up shade to avoid future liability issues. Overall a beautiful park w a good amt of shade, multiple parking lots and multiple picnic areas. Too far for us to come regularly but likely coming back for the train ride during holidays when I think they usually have a Santa there. (You need advance tix for this)

A few chairs are available for owners, plus a little swimming pool filled with water for the dogs. The grass and shade trees make it extra inviting. It's clear this park is very well cared for.

However, recently I decided to venture back because it is so close to where I live, which makes it a lot more convenient than the other local dog parks. I've been here three times since, all on a weekday evening. The good: huge area for the large dogs to run around, with plenty of grass. Dogs have plenty of space to play with each other, or wander away if needed. The main sitting area is also away from the entrance, so I don't feel like my dog gets mobbed when we first get in. All the dogs so far have been really friendly and well socialized. It definitely seems like there is a regular good sized group of people who go at the time I have been going, which is nice. People are friendly and seem to care about how their dogs are acting/reacting. Poop bag canisters are always well stocked. The ok: along with the grass there is also a lot of dirt and some muddy areas, which is a bummer when my dumb dog decides he wants a mud bath... The bad: out of all the parks I've been to, this place seems the worst with owners cleaning up after their pets. I understand its a grassy area and sometimes hard to find, but I keep an eagle eye on my dog at all times and usually after doing a few minutes of searching, am able to find where he pooped. Along the way I usually find 3-4 older poop piles. I pick up what I can, but it would be nice if people were more considerate about that. No one wants to step in poop, or have it get on their dog to bring back into their car. There also tend to be some homeless always walking around the park as other reviews have mentioned. However, I haven't been bothered by them. I feel like there are less around right now too because its summer and there appears to be a lot of sporting/family activities going on in the evening. Might be different when the weather and sunlight hours change. Overall, the park has been really good. My dog seems to like it too, which is the most important!

We have had her checked by our vet and she has no condition to cause this sort of reaction, so the park is suspect all day long. I don't know if they are putting chemicals on the grass, or what, but this is bs and we will never take my dog there again. Two weekends in a row now she has had an allergic reaction from going there. I hear other dogs coughing and gagging while there as well. Take your fur baby someplace safe, because this park is not at all.

Hope it helps! Entrance is accessible from Greenback Ln with $10 fee required per vehicle. 2 Parking lots available - 1 closer to boat launch area and another further lot that's more convenient for picnic areas and tables. Plenty of tables and area for lots of families to enjoy some water festivities! Have a big party or just want to lock down a few tables? Highly advise to come early. If you just need some space to place your mats down, it should be just fine. Incredible trails alongside the water for walking, jogging, and bike riding. Dogs are welcome but just make sure you pick up after them (I noticed a good number of dog poop near the water edge). Want to take a dip? Feel free! Quite cold but more than welcome to. Biggest reason why we came here? To see how the Kayak Rental system worked. Scan the QR code or visit the site to book your rentals and sign waivers. I was told they rented daily by a worker (young ones) but their online reservations just show weekends and random Wednesdays.. so good luck. Honestly Rental prices are higher than another spot we've been to, but this spot was much closer to home and easier to access. Price for convenience! We didn't go kayaking on this particular day but definitely plan to return with our own paddle board/Kayaks since it just makes sense to invest and go whenever we want versus rent a few kayaks with high rental feels. Who wants to return within 1 hr?! No way, you gotta stay out in the midst of nature for at LEAST a few hours! Pathway Tip: Walking or jogging? Stay on your left. Biking? Stay on your right. Standard Placer County rules. Great spot for families whether you want to picnic, swim, paddleboard, kayak, go for a nice walk, jog, or bike along gorgeous river waters scenery. Have fun!!
