Absolutely horrible. AAA should stop using them. I will definitely be filing a complaint as far up as I can. My daughter got into an accident and wanted her car towed to her home. She was told they were too busy. She asked about a closer location (her grandfathers) and was told they were too busy. They towed her vehicle to their tow yard and now she is racking up charges for a daily storage. Why am I paying for the premier with AAA when they can't even contract with tow companies who do what they are hired to do. Stay far away from this company. I am being told. Cause my daughter signed for them to take her car she agreed. I totally get that however what about me paying for the premium road side assistance? I also blame AAA and have filed a complaint. I'm not sure what they expected my daughter to do. Say no and have her car sitting in the middle of the street. She was in a bad car accident, car not drive able and probably totaled, police came and the ambulance. That's how bad it was. Stay far away from this tow company! Oh and they are liars. On September 16, 2025, around 5:00 PM, I had one of the worst experiences with this towing company. * My car had a flat tire. The driver showed up with no proper equipment to handle a flat tire. * Instead of doing the job correctly, he dragged my car while the tire was flat, which broke my Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS). * I personally witnessed the damage happening. I then had to pay $130 for repairs, which I have the invoice for. * When I called their office to resolve the issue respectfully, the person on the phone yelled at me, used the F word multiple times, accused me of being a scammer, and then blocked my phone number. This is beyond unprofessional. it is hostile, careless, and unethical business practice. They damaged my car, refused responsibility, and treated me with open hostility when I tried to resolve it in good faith. If you care about your car and your safety, avoid this company at all costs. They should not be allowed to operate with this kind of behavior. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, the Department of Consumer Affairs, and local authorities to make sure no one else goes through what I did. read more

Avoid Carmel Towing at all costs. One of their tow trucks hit my car, and it was 100% their fault. After my insurance investigated, we found out the vehicle that hit me was NOT INSURED. When I tried to contact them directly, they blocked every number I used. I ended up paying out of pocket to fix the damage because uninsured motorist coverage didn't cover everything. This company ignored all accountability and treated me with hostility. If they're cutting corners on insurance, I wouldn't trust them with anything. They may be saving money now, but I believe in karma -- and I hope no one else has to deal with what I did. read more

I have AAA and they called Carmel Towing. I was towing my car to my mechanic because my ABS brakes needed to be worked on my 550SL. The driver took my information and prepared a disclaimer for me to sign. It detailed if the vehicle is damaged by them, they are not responsible. It was Carmel's form, not AAA. Immediate RED FLAG. I told him I was going to contact AAA to have another company transport my vehicle. I called AAA and they were perplexed why they required the form and had another company come out. The new tow company also agreed that disclaimer form suspicious if my vehicle had not been involved in an accident and I was simply needing a transport. Be Aware of This Company! read more

I was connected to Carmel Towing via AAA, whom I had called because my car was mysteriously not fully turning on (or off! it was a nightmare!) and needed roadside assistance. Two different guys helped me, someone to first check the battery (I didn't catch his name, but he was very nice), and then, when the car still wasn't fixed, he called someone else, Chris, to tow it. The two guys who helped me tonight were patient, kind, and so thorough in helping me deal with my car. When Chris arrived to tow it, I explained what was going on, and he asked if he could try something with the battery just one last time to be absolutely sure I needed it to get towed -- and he fixed it! Like magic! It would've been so easy for him to just tow it without taking the time to double check, and I'm so, so grateful that he did. And, when the car engine finally turned on but said it was now out of gas, I told him I'd go to the nearby gas station to fill up and expressed nervousness that the car wouldn't turn on again after filling up. When I got to the gas station, he turned up in the truck and told me he'd wait for me to get gas and for the car to turn on, just to be extra sure everything was ok. What superb, kind, and thoughtful service. Chris really went above and beyond to make sure my car and I were safe, and that everything was ok, even though we ended up not needing their tow service or anything. I am really just so appreciative of how helpful he was (and the first guy was so nice and helpful too! I'm sorry I didn't catch his name!). This is the kind of thing that I hope I never need again in the future, but if anyone ends up in a nightmare situation like I was, then I'd really recommend calling Carmel Towing. I was stranded today in Hollywood when my steering wheel locked and ignition would not turn over. AAA reached out to Carmel Towing for help. Carmel initially provided an estimate wait time of 50 minutes. About 30 minutes into the wait time, they increased my wait time to 80 minutes. AAA reached out to Carmel while I was on the line with them, and explained I needed an earlier pick up because I had to get my child at school. The woman on the phone, who spoke with a thick Persian accent, was not only incredibly rude, but racist. With no prompting, she canceled my pick up order completely, made a hostile & veiled racist comment to me and left me stranded. Terrible company. Terrible lack of professionalism. Please do not use this company. I wish AAA could stop using them, but I'm sure they need all the help they can get. read more

Carmel Towing incorrectly towed my car a while back to the point where the tow hook had to be physically cut out of my car's suspension, resulting in 5 figures worth of damage. Carmel Towing tried to threaten my mechanic shop (where the car was being towed to) and told them if they informed me of the damage (since the damage was mostly underneath the car), they wouldn't tow cars to their shop anymore. Luckily my mechanic isn't as much of a crook as these people and informed me of what happened. Carmel Towing refused to find a solution, even with 30+ photos of the damage, and the owner threatened me with the mob (???). Super bizarre experience all around and he was really barking up the wrong tree with that one. Anyways, if they damage your car and threaten you as many reviews on Yelp state, CALL AAA AND ASK FOR THEIR INSURANCE INFORMATION / CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE. YOU DO NOT NEED LET THEM THREATEN YOU INTO SUBMISSION. If you have photos / proof, their insurance company WILL pay you. Their insurance adjustor actually owned a tow shop in the past and couldn't BELIEVE the damage Carmel Towing caused to my car. Then cancel AAA so you never need to deal with these dirtbags again. read more

Bad bad company. I was involved in a minor accident and have AAA. The first driver shows up and tells me my membership is classic and it would be an extra 350$ to tow. My membership is plus and covers 100 miles. Tried several times to convince me to tow it to his yard free of charges lol I denied and he left. 2 hours later a 2nd more rude driver shows and tell me again my membership is classic while I have aaa on the phone saying otherwise and tells me it would be a extra 200$. Same distance same car were getting better. I denied the extra payment and the agent informed him I'm not classic and good to go. He drives off and reports to AAA I cursed him out to cover his self. This company is full of tricks and have the worst drivers I have ever encountered. You can tell they are used to getting money out of drivers because it's Hollywood area ...beware !!! read more
