We did everything ahead of time online and worked with Malcolm when we arrived. There were a couple of hiccups (I didn't have my title on hand for the trade in and was told by someone else that I needed it and couldn't trade in my car, but then Malcolm confirmed with me that I owned the vehicle outright and was able to get me a duplicate title for under $20). The process did take a while (we arrived 15-20 minutes late for a 1:30pm appt but didn't leave until around 6pm. There were a few issues we noticed with the car during the 20 minute test drive but Malcolm was able to put in some work requests before we left so that we could still leave with our new car and come back for free repairs. Overall, the process was way smoother than a regular dealership with haggling and unfair practices. It's only been a day but I would use CarMax again.

Konnery was Great! Much appreciated! Smooth process and we got exactly what we wanted! Fantastic sales person, answered ALL of our questions and was super knowledgeable. Very Smooth transaction! We will be back here!

    Brakes were squeaking loud.

I wish i could leave 0 stars. ** Piss Poor Service Department. Piss Poor location!** My car-buying experience with Carmax was far from ideal. Despite their claims of a thorough vehicle inspection, my first car stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic, nearly causing an accident. After that terrifying ordeal, I reluctantly opted for a second vehicle, which wasn't even my first choice. To make matters worse, as soon as I drove it home, the brakes started screaming. Needless to say, I returned it. Save yourself the hassle--shop around elsewhere. Carmax simply doesn't live up to their promises.

STAY AWAY FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT…read more I've had to bring my Explorer Sport to Lithia Springs Ford three times for the same push-button start issue. The car starts whenever it feels like it and has left my wife and me stranded in parking lots twice. On my first visit (August 2025), I was assigned Bennie in service. After over a week, they told me it was the BCM (Body Control Module) and charged me around $1,500. Shortly after, the exact same problem came back. On the second visit, they kept my car for another week, then told me they "couldn't replicate the problem." I picked it up hoping it was just a fluke. Less than a month later, I'm stranded again in another parking lot. Now I'm on my third visit, and my car has been in their shop for three weeks with no solution. I've worked on cars for years, so I understand that some issues are hard to diagnose. But three weeks with almost zero communication is unacceptable. Every time my car is there, Bennie basically leaves me in the dark unless I chase him down. I leave voicemails, I talk to the clerk, and I still get no updates unless I keep calling. This last time, after three weeks with no real progress, I started calling the manager, Tim. His line went straight to voicemail too. No call back as of this morning. So not only am I out a lot of money and still dealing with the same issue, but the customer service is awful. In my experience, they charge high prices and then disappear when the job is actually difficult. PLEASE STAY AWAY. The service department will overcharge you for shoddy work and poor communication. Take your car to a reputable mechanic or at least another dealership that will answer the phone, call you back, and keep you updated. Unacceptable service from Lithia Springs Ford. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will update this review as this fiasco unfolds.

I had to use the emergency brake to stop on the side of the road. The mechanic it was towed to said the brake line was completely rusted out and needed to be replaced. The manager at JT Chevrolet told me I bought the car 'as is' and they had no obligation to repair it. They called me back a little while later saying if I could get it towed there, they'd fix it as a gesture of goodwill. Fine, the brakes are still very soft, but I'm at least able to stop. Last month while changing the battery, I found that instead of a metal super connector, there was a literal piece of lamp cord that had been stripped on both ends. Additionally, I had to replace two tires due to slow leaks, the washer fluid reservoir is completely cracked, the belt was cracked and worn, and I had to replace the headlights. There is a oil pressure error on it now and it leaks slowly. I've probably spent more on it than its worth at this point. I would never recommend buying a used vehicle here. They clearly just washed it and threw it on the lot without opening the hood or checking under it, at all. These are things that even a Jiffy Lube would notice but apparently their service department cannot. If I could go back to October, I'd buy somewhere else. I just don't feel safe in the vehicle, but also don't feel comfortable selling it to someone else, because unlike John Thornton Chevrolet, I have principles.
