    Inspection
    James H.

If I could rate this location, it would be no stores. I purchased my vehicle on June 24. I've noticed things that were wrong with it and reported it I live out of state so I took it to my local Carmax. There has been a lot of work on the vehicle, it not not passed inspection, I have been unsuccessful with contacting anyone at the Lancaster location. This has been a horrible experience. Not to mention I purchased a vehicle two weeks prior from my local Carmax and have had to take it into service twice already. I will never buy another vehicle from Carmax.

My 78-year-old aunt, who is showing early signs of dementia, recently expressed interest in buying…read morea car. I told her repeatedly that she could not afford one. She was over $500 overdrawn in her checking account at the time, and she had already been denied financing for an HVAC system last year due to poor credit. Despite all of this, she told me a dealership claimed they would drive nearly an hour to pick her up so she could "look at cars." I reiterated that she could not afford a car. Two days later, I learned that this dealership -- Enterprise Used Cars in East Petersburg -- actually did drive to her home, pick her up, take her to their lot, and send her home in a newly financed vehicle. They even programmed the GPS for her and sent her on her way, but forgot to give her the key fob. The recklessness and predatory nature of this behavior is shocking. This dealership took advantage of an elderly woman with impaired judgment and extremely limited finances. She lives solely on Social Security and now has a $452 monthly car payment she cannot realistically afford. When she finally realized what had happened two weeks later, she understood she had made a mistake -- likely because I continued to explain how serious this situation is. I am outraged at how easily they exploited her vulnerability, and I question how many other elderly individuals with cognitive decline have been taken advantage of in this same way. It is unethical, and quite possibly illegal. I will be filing complaints with the Department of Aging's legal services, my congresswoman, and any other agency that will investigate this predatory behavior. This cannot be allowed to continue.

On July 15th, I was dealing with a very polite lady, Hannah at the Mechanicsburg, PA office. She…read morereceived a quote from corporate for a 2019 Ford Eco sport for $15,800. "No hassle guaranteed" was advertised on the website. I gave Enterprise a $200 deposit and asked for a Bill of sale with the VIN # attached to provide to my bank. The only things that followed my first, pleasant conversation with Hannah, were consecutive delays. The process has been incredibly frustrating and drawn out. I sent them my license and insurance information, but I never heard back. However, they graciously took my $200 deposit. They generously held my deposit for me for 10 days knowing they would not be able to sell me the vehicle for that price. Hannah said they would try to come up with a solution to rectify this situation for me. Yet, no one has. "No hassle guaranteed" is without a doubt false advertisement. It is now July 31st, and still no one has called me. Save your money, and shop elsewhere. You will find nothing but broken promises here. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
