Well, this review is a long time coming, but I've been dealing with so much from this place this is finally the first opportunity I've had to sit and write down the entirety of what transpired. In 2022 I really needed a car and had found a vehicle I was interested in at this particular Carmax. I stopped in after work to take a look at it and basically wasn't even greeted or acknowledged for over an hour. Finally, I had to get up and get someone to come help me and while they weren't mean to me, they weren't exactly friendly either. Buying the car was pretty seamless and easy. I did end up getting the extended warranty, which by the way, I highly recommend if you have the displeasure of doing business with this place, bought the car and went on my merry way. Less than a week after I bought the car I started having issues with the transmission sticking so as the sales person had mentioned to me as long as I brought the car back within 30 days they would do any repairs free of charge so that's what I did. I kept telling them what was going on with the transmission and I kept being treated like a stupid woman repeatedly and was told that the transmission fluid only needed to be changed. Long story short that ended up not being the case and a couple months down the line I was driving on I-4 and my transmission completely stopped working, I couldn't shift and I was lucky enough to get onto the shoulder so that my car could be towed away back to Carmax. I of course, was very angry over the situation and insisted because I had already brought the car in for this problem and they wouldn't take me seriously that they take care of fixing this problem and it shouldn't be on my dime. Well I did have a manager reach out to me, her name was Jessica and she told me that because it was documented that I already brought the vehicle in for this issue that they were going to take care of it and give me a loaner car for the duration of the repair. I said great and I was able to come in and get a loaner car and they were just going to do what they needed to do with my vehicle. This whole ordeal took about six months of them, trying to do everything they could to not replace the transmission in my car, but of course it ended with them just replacing the transmission because the problem was not getting better without doing that. So after I thought everything was good and I could wash my hands of this, I picked up my car and went on my way. Well, less than a year down the line my engine gave out and I kind of thought well this is a big repair but I have the extended warranty so shouldn't be a big deal. The car got towed to Carmax, which then they took it to the Ford dealership and that's when I was informed that the transmission repair that was done on my vehicle a year prior was done by using money from my extended warranty, and I didn't have enough left in the extended warranty to cover the engine replacement needless to say I was extremely angry because none of this was ever made clear to me. I've gone through every email to see if it was something that I had missed in the fine print and there was nothing mentioned of this. Carmax in particularly the manager, Jessica scammed me yet again and I was extremely upset over the situation. So after going back-and-forth with them and their legal department for a long time I finally just really needed my car back and I paid the difference and just let it be what it was. I can tell you for 100% certainty that I will never buy a vehicle from this place again and that's any of their locations and I highly recommend to everyone else that they don't either. To this day,I still tell all of my friends and family about the horrible experience that I had here and how I was treated and I just can't in good conscience recommend that anyone buy a car from here because I can promise you it will be nothing but a headache. read more

No high pressure. I ended up not buying from them as I was looking for a cheaper car but my test drive didn't involve anyone having to go with me which was nice. I never received any annoying phone calls to come back to buy. The next day I received an email with a very generous offer to purchase my car whether I bought or not. I ended up going and selling my car. They even got me a free Lyft ride home. That nice gesture was top notch in my option. When I do purchase a new car down the line I will defiantly go back to them. Went Friday 12/13 to test drive a car, was met by Nick who was awesome, friendly professional. They had to change out the battery so the car got a brand new battery. While waiting he had asked if it was ok to help another couple while we waited. I didn't mind, they even offered to buy us lunch while we waited. Only waited like 30 mins, we were then helped by Tyler since Nick wasn't back and they didn't want us waiting. It was fine with me. Car was behind what I expected and was actually way nicer than the website showed. I bought on the spot, no hassling, no pushing sale crap other car lots do. They were all very professional and helpful. Not once did they push anything. Simply just asked questions and pointed me in right direction. I was blown away, my precious car lot visits were absolutely horrible. I will for sure buy from them again, no question. They even washed the car, put my new plate on and filled the gas up before I left. Everything was a good experience. I never ounce felt pushed, uncomfortable or annoyed. We stopped by to look at a car for my wife. We scheduled an appointment online and was immediately called about 4 times with questions. We assured them we would show up to the appointment and showed up on time. We went inside and let them know we were there for the appointment. They asked us to hold tight and welcomed us to look at the car which was in the lot. After searching the lot to find the car. We waited in the sun, looking at it. After 30 mins, we decided to keep an eye out for someone coming to meet us but check out another car that caught our eye. 45 mins later, we were no closer to getting service. After stopping back inside and asking if we would be able to test drive the vehicle like we scheduled, we were told that "everyone" is busy. But we could wait inside or take a look at the car. Went to this dealership to sell our 1500 dodge ram and purchase a 2500 ram. The truck was missing window tint and a bed lined but the truck rode nice and was in decent shape. THEN WE NOTICED A HUGE CHUNK MISSING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. Long story short, after we had already crunched numbers and committed to completing the deal..pending they would fix the unsafe tire... numerous managers decided they didn't want to replace nor take money off the price to replace the unsafe tire. We even contacted Dodge's warranty department who informed CARMAX the truck was NOT SAFE with the tires in the condition...but management at CARMAX didn't budge. Purchsed 2023 Lexus, 16,200 miles about 4 weeks ago. A rattle noise was coming from the front of the vehicle and a popping noise from the breaks (not often but enough for concern) - Took into CarMax Cleremont FL - Anthony (mechanic) and evenetually spoke to Shawn (Manager) stated I broke the control arm of the vehicle. Proceeded to bully me in conversation on what I hit to make this happen. Of course I didn't hit anything. Said it's not covered and the cost is $2,600. After minutes of disrespectful back and forth, trying to convince me I hti something, I asked for my car as I was taking it right next door to Toyota. Anthony brought my car around and I asked "what specifically is wrong with my car?" He stated "you broke the control arm". I arrived at Toyota, they kindly put it up on the rack, called me out to take look. Brandon (machanic in the shop) had me under the car with a flashlight and said I do not see anything wrong with car at all and by the way, if you broke the control arm, quite frankly, you probably wouldn't be able to drive it. He recommended I take it to Lexus with is being under warranty. Took it Lexus, they loosened and tightend screws and test dove it severaly time throughout the 4 days it was there. Said the same thing, if I broke the control arm, I probably wouIdn't be able to drive it. Brought it home, home for a few days, it's fine. No noise, no popping. What a disgrace Anthony and Shawn. Was told a repair would be covered under Maxcare by multiple employees including two front desk service/repair appointment schedulers, one service staff that did the initial evaluation/walk through with us, the service tech that called to tell us he would be transporting our vehicle to another location for the repair...only for him to call back an hour later to tell us it is not covered under Maxcare after all and to be quoted an $800 repair fee. Do not buy Max care for your vehicle. Completely misled throughout the entire experience. Would not recommend this business. read more

The price suddenly jumped to $33,998 and the mileage increased to 36k miles for the same vehicle. They would not honor the original price they listed. If you ever want to waste three hours of your Saturday afternoon go to CarMax and try to buy a $112,000 car. Website showed the car was available as a 24 hour test drive. Great! Scheduled an appointment, and headed the hour down to the lot. Get to CarMax. Great. Despite having an appt, had to wait 15 mins for an advisor. Scheduled to appraise my trade in. Great. You'd think they'd start that first, but no. Go to look at the Model X. Giant scratch in the door, and none of the door sensors would work correctly. Whatever. Fixable. Advisor said great, I can get you set up for the test drive. Give them my insurance policy which has two of my current Tesla's on it. Should be hint number one that I was a serious buyer. We then get told "It's Car Max policy that you can't do a 24 hour test drive without a 80% charge. However we can't find the CCS to Tesla adapter (they didn't call it this, they really had no idea what it was called.). I say, okay! Simple solution, I can let you borrow the adapter out of my Tesla sitting in the lot. (Hint #2 that I may have been a serious buyer). That's fine. We wait. Ask if we can test drive a Standard range model 3 while they did the appraisal, since we were curious about the difference in speed between the higher and lower trim. They say fine, we can do that so you don't need to sit around while we do the appraisal. Turns out, Both of the model 3's have less than 5% charge. So never mind about that. We wait around for the appraisal, then get told "Oh Nevermind! Despite the advisor telling you, despite the website telling you, and everything else, here is a policy that we have that states "Cars over $60k can't do a 24 hour test drive" The senior advisor was willing to make an exception to the 15 min test drive policy and let us do a same day extended,,, howeeeveer at 3 hours into our visit, it was now too late for this, and we'd have to come back tomorrow. My trade in was worth $72k, and the car we were looking at was $112k. Not like we were trying to dick them around. If I'm dropping six figures on a car, I'm gonna take it out for more than 15 mins. Not to mention, like I said, I presented them with my Geico policy with two Tesla's listed for coverage. Had they given me the extended test drive option earlier into my visit and said hey, we didn't realize there was a policy change, I would have been completely fine with that. However we got multiple excuses over and over. I walked out with the despise that I never want to walk into a CarMax dealership again in my life. Nor will I ever recommend them to anyone either. So, bottom line. Wanna waste three hours? Go to CarMax and try to buy a premium car. You'll get a Kia experience instead. read more

I have been on this lot for approximately 20 minutes looking at various vehicles. I walked back in to the sales floor and looked around for a few moments. Someone sitting at a desk in the middle of the room, apparently not working with a customer, looked right at me. I turned to walk out and paused again to see if anyone would approach me, nobody said so much as "hello" or "goodbye". What a disappointment ! read more
