When I asked for alternatives they gave us A-Line as one choice. So very pleased we went with them. They got us in promptly and they did an excellent job -- very diligent with the replacement and held the vehicle for us ensuring all was dry before driving. Looks good and no leaks. They also went above and beyond. The trim that was damaged did not come with the windshield package and they spent a good amount of time actively looking for the part. Once they obtained it they promptly replaced it at no additional charge for their time to locate the part and replace it. Finally, they were very nice to work with and are nice people.

My only complaint was when insurance was debating if the car was going to be a total loss, Gerber stated they don't work on total loss vehicles - thus Id have to have the car towed someplace else. (if I wanted to buy it back from insurance) Fortunately, the insurance company did not total out the vehicle so I was able to have it repaired. They even washed the car and buffed the hood. There was literally no paper work involved, and they confirmed my appt a few times so I wouldn't forget. I was told it would be a quick 30 minutes, so I waited. After 30 minutes passed, the repair guy came to the waiting room and asked where the crack was, since he did not start on it yet. Well that was annoying. Another 30 minutes passed and it was done. I have never had a windshield repair before, but they told me I wouldn't be able to notice the crack anymore. Well honestly I can easily see it and there is no difference? But like I said, I am very unfamiliar with the process. I supposed my experience was satisfactory, but definitely could have been better.

Called on a Wednesday and was serviced by an extremely friendly gentlemen on the phone who said they could get me serviced next day, Thursday, and come to my house (all the way in Averill Park). Thursday morning rolled around and it turns out that JN Phillips accidentally scheduled my appointment for NEXT Thursday. JN Phillips was quite apologetic about the mix up, scheduled me for Friday morning, and as an act of good-will threw in new windshield wipers for my car. Friday morning they were prompt in arriving to my house and was able to replace my windshield in about an hour - plus installed the new windshield wipers. Would highly recommend them for my auto glass needs.

My inital appointment was rescheduled because 4 techs called out. I went to the shop 2 days later for an appointment because of rain. They told me at that appointment after taking my car into the shop that the wrong part was ordered. They orderd the new part and rescheduled for the follwoing wednesday. I return to the shop in Latham and was told once again the wrong part was ordered. They assurred me the correct part would be there the following Monday and scheduled me for Tuesday between 12 and 5 at my house. On Saturday before my appointment the corporate safelite office called me and asked for a picture of the window that needed to be replaced. They had the vehicle in there shop twice before this. Tuesday arrived and no call/ no show by the technician. I stopped in the shop on Wednesday and was told the part was ordered but had not come in. I asked if she could verify delivery date of the part. She called the local BMW dealer and found out corporate ordering has inquired about the part but did not order/pay for the part. She got corporate to order and pay for the part to be delivered the next day. The part was not delivered on Thursday, but it was delivered on Friday (today) 3+ weeks after initial claim put in. I arrived today at 10:20 AM for my appointment. At 11:30 I was told my car was done and keys were handed to me. I went to look at my car and noticed the there was tape residue from the charsh wrap they placed on the broken window. I went back in to ask about the tape residue and the tech said he tried to remove it but he could not get it off. A second tech came out took the car and removed the residue. Why if you have a customer who is obviously upset and been to the shop atleast 4 times would you not verify the quality of the work before sending back to the customer? The vehicle is fixed and appears rto be done correctly, I am waiting until the first rain or carwash to ensure there are no leaks.

Zero Stars. Filed a claim in January 2018 with my insurer,…read morewho referred me to Ed's glass. The address they were using was closed to my work. When I scheduled the appointment, he said they closed the Latham shop years ago but hadn't updated the address. He asked me to bring my car to Rotterdam because of the cold. I am no where near Rotterdam, so it took him 3 weeks to replace the windshield. I had to call him back because the side windsheild trim was falling off. He fixed it and said to leave the trim tape on a few days. I did, and it peeled the paint off my car. In Sept 2018, I was hit by a rock and had to have the windsheild replaced again. I called Safelight, who discovered that Ed's Glass GLUED the side trim down. You aren't supposed to glue the trim, as it clips on. This resulted in having to replace not only the side trim, but the whole windsheild frame that is riveted to the frame of the car. When I called Ed's Glass to ask about fixing the issue, she rudely stated that I needed to call my insurance. Go with Safelight. They are reputable, have excellent customer service and can fix big issues when guys like this screw up your car!
