I called Bearsville Garage and heard the voice of someone who instantly put me at ease. After sending a video of the horrific scraping sound taken the night before, I was told to come in, and they would take a look at the problem and, if need be, order the part and hopefully have it done by day's end! We drove to Bearsville Garage, where we were greeted by the owner, Joe, who was knowledgeable, experienced, and Kind. We are from Manhattan, so it is great to know that there is someone we can rely on when we are in this area. The noise had stopped on our way to the garage, and we learned it was a stone caught in the brake system. After a thorough examination with an explanation of the brake system, because we asked many questions, our problem was quickly understood and solved, and we were on our way. Well, they sold me a battery then said they weren't comfortable swapping them out. They recommended a nearby shop but, once I drove there, that shop refused to install someone else's battery and wanted to charge me over $700 which seemed really fishy. So I was stuck with a $200 battery and a truck I couldn't turn off. Gave someone else a call and they recommended E. Mower & Son. These mechanics couldn't have been nicer. They are very fair priced and worth bringing your vehicles to whether it's for an oil change, gas fill ups, alignments, tire rotations or even new tires, new rotors/brakes, tuneups, suspension/steering work, any type of electrical issues or even for a NYS Inspection they are the shop to go! They are a very well-connected when it comes to part distribution shops in the area so they can easily access parts for your vehicle usually within 20 minutes of calling it in! They do occasionally accept walk-ins from time to time, but it's always better that you call ahead of time and make an appointment. You will always be guaranteed fast, friendly, courteous service from the crew over there! They also have some of the cheapest fuel prices for 87 octane gas, 91 Premium Octane Non-ethanol gasoline, as well as very fair priced diesel, and grill propane cylinder exchanges in the area! They also offer towing services if you get stranded or get into a crash! They only have 4 lifts but the crew usually pumps out over a dozen cars a day!
