Since Jen sold this place, not too long ago, this place sadly has went downhill. The crust is different. Everything is different. Pay attention to the small details. I know that she left instructions on how to make the dough and the pizza sauce. Things are being ignored. And it's gonna cost you business. I ordered a pizza today. They said it'll be ready in 25 minutes. I showed up at the 25 minute mark. They hadn't even made the pizza yet and they were sitting around doing nothing. Not good not good at all. I was on my lunch break. I don't have time to sit there an extra 25 minutes. If you're expecting Carlucci's Pizza, you're gonna be disappointed because that great tasting Pizza is gone. As disappointing as it is to write this review, I feel it's necessary to warn others about my experience with this establishment. On December 26, 2025 at 11:17 a.m., I placed an online lunch order through Carlucci's website. The transaction went through successfully, and I was charged. When I arrived to pick up my order after receiving a notification that it was ready, I discovered the restaurant was closed for holiday hours. Despite being closed, their online ordering system still accepted and processed my payment. The charge posted to my account on December 29, 2025. When I contacted the owner, Jen, she stated I would receive a refund within 5-7 business days. After following up with the business on three separate occasions and speaking with Angie, I was repeatedly told they were "working on the refund" and that I would receive a callback--which never happened. I even offered reasonable alternatives, including picking up the original order at a later date or receiving a gift card, but received no response. Attempts to contact the owner again via the phone number she provided also went unanswered. To date, I have received neither my food nor a refund. I support local businesses whenever possible, but accountability matters. At the very least, this situation should have been resolved with basic communication and follow-through. I would advise caution before ordering from this establishment. I have retained all documentation related to this issue. read more

Carlucci's is one of my go-to spots for local pizza. It's close to my house and they also have great food. Nate and I ordered some wings and a deluxe pizza recently for pickup. Their online ordering system is pretty easy to use and it says to allow 30 minutes for pickup orders. I also signed up for text notifications but didn't receive anything until after we'd picked up our order. We arrived 30 minutes after ordering but it wasn't ready yet. There is very limited seating inside but I assume they mostly do takeout. They do sell pizza by the slice at lunch time. The pizza was huge, with a lot of fresh toppings. The onion and green pepper were crunchier than I expected - I didn't mind it but they definitely weren't cooked. The sauce is a bit sweeter than I prefer, but the crust was not soggy despite the generous toppings. The wings were big and came with ranch and a big piece of garlic bread, which was a fun surprise. (The online ordering system said they came with "bread" but I wasn't sure what to expect.) If you're not in the mood for pizza, Carlucci's also has pasta dinners, burritos, subs, and more. read more

There wasn't a too much of just crust, the toppings go right to the edge. The toppings were all fresh and tasty. The wings were tender and the sauce was standard buffalo but also really good. Passable at best. I hadn't been here in years, but a friend's rave review made me want to give it a try again. Place was disheveled and staff was very "checked out". Another customer had a complaint and was responded to with a shrug, which I saw while I waited for my 15 min late order to be completed. Pizza was not terrible, but I wouldn't get it again. Carluccis has been a go to in Grand Rapids for some time but they can never seem to get orders correct and have terrible customer service. After numerous bad experiences I cannot in good faith recommend them. Response: correct Jen I did order today and I did not feel like being objected to the same treatment as before when I called. The delivery driver was kind enough to return to the shop and get the correct items but it still doesn't make up for incorrect orders, bad customer service, and the mediocre take and bake pizza I received today. read more

I was craving a Chicago Style Pizza after a long day at work. Chicago Style is deep dish looks like a pie, but it's pizza... ingredients are buried in the cheese and sauce on top with parmesan cheese in too. But, what I've learned the hard way living here for 17 years is that pizza places here are mis-labeling it. What's labeled as Chicago Style pizza" isn't at all. I was born in Chicago... lived there until college and post college I've lived here in Grand Rapids, MI. Grand Rapids does NOT have "Chicago Style Pizza." The pizza, when I pulled my slice, all the toppings fell off.. which when I ordered the Chicago Style pizza, in the notes I said "sausage only", clearly they don't read notes. I didn't even finish one piece. I just didn't like it. I read several rave reviews about the Parmesan bites. They were ok. Some of them were burnt on the bottom and the sauce was cold pizza sauce, so not a good combination. The star of the night was the Italian sub. It was actually really great. I may get it again, but maybe I just ordered the wrong things tonight. These three items were $50 with the tip, $8 delivery fee (I live 4.2 miles away)... and taxes. It's likely not going to happen again. Update to my review- tried to try this place out again today 7/9- and ordered online for delivery - says their open til 10:30... ordered at 9:25.... 18 minutes later.. they called to tell me they don't have a delivery driver but I can pick up my order... yeah... maybe you should take off delivery off as an option if you don't have a delivery driver. My fiancé and I decided to try a new pizza place tonight and landed on Carluccis after seeing a breadsticks and 18" pizza deal for $19. We ordered the pizza with half just cheese and half green pepper, and then the parmesan breadsticks. We ordered at about 7:30 and it was ready at 8:00, so about 30 minutes, and the young lady behind the counter was very sweet and professional. They accidentally made our breadsticks with mozzarella instead of parmesan, but noticed and offered a chance to fix it. I declined because it wasn't too big of a deal to me and not worth the wait. I got home and opened the box and the whole pizza had green pepper on it instead of just half... and the cheese on one half of our pizza had mostly slid off one side and piled in the top corner of the box. It was definitely not appetizing and disappointing that they had messed up the toppings for both of the 2 items we ordered. I have had mixed experiences here in the past. Months back I came here to pick up a pizza, and EVERY employee was outside smoking and I stood at the counter for like 3 minutes until a girl came out of the back room and asked me if I needed help. I said I was there to pick up a pizza, and some older guy with long white hair finally came inside and went right to cutting a pizza that had been sitting on the counter without even bothering to wash his hands. (GROSS) I got that pizza home and it was undercooked and doughy. Called and complained, and said I'd never had a bad experience there before. They remade the pizza, and when I showed up to pick it up 20 minutes later, EVERYONE was back outside smoking again except the nice lady behind the counter. I decided to give carluccis another try just this past Halloween. (just last week) Ordered one of their large two topping specials, was told 20 minutes. When we got there, I walked in and was greeted by the lady behind the counter, told her my name and the bald guy behind the counter perked up and said "oh man I forgot it, it might be burnt. Do you want me to remake it?" I looked at it and it was definitely burnt and I said I'd wait for a new one (wasn't offered ANYTHING for my time whatsoever) Waited got my pizza and went home. It was decent and for the price I couldn't complain outside of just having to wait around. Fast forward to tonight, (November 6th) I ordered another special and was told 25 minutes. I showed up right around the 20 minute mark, went in and told the younger girl I was there to pick up an order and gave my name. I CANNOT even make this up, the same bald guy goes "oh man I forgot all about it, so it's burnt - gonna have to remake it" and I said "wait, seriously you burnt it again?" the girl at the counter and I made awkward eye contact, and the bald guy goes "yeah I'm gonna just remake it quickly" and I said don't bother, we're leaving. This happened a week ago, same exact thing. I won't be back. " To be clear, the food is amazing when cooked correctly but I can guarantee some of your employees are flushing your money down the drain and turning customers off to your business. read more

I haven't had a pizza in about 6 months. This holiday weekend I wanted to treat myself and support family run business. This was an excellent choice. 1st visit for me. The website was clear and easy to follow. Easy to find the menu. The prices are extremely fair. I had a traditional crust 3 topping 16" for $16 plus tax. It was so good! I could taste all the Italian spices in the pizza sauce, it was just the right firmness of crust, and they were fast to have it ready for pick up. Just 30 mins during the 6pm hour on a weekend!! Although the location can get them overlooked, they are a true gem and I will for sure order from them again!! read more

Every time I'm in this end of the town carlucci's is my go to! Their pizza is fabulous. Our group got a few large pizza and Parmesan bites. For a group of 7 people we still had leftovers. The crust is really delicious and perfect amount of crisp to the dough. The marinara is great as well. The Parmesan dough bites were soooo good. I loved how they were small dough balls instead of large / medium like most places! We ordered takeout on a Saturday night and got it quite quickly. I am from New York and I LOVE pizzas that have BIG slices. Carluccis does this. Yes!!!!! Reminds me of home. I would just not drive the extra 30 min for a pizza from here. Have you ever been an idiot? I have. Tonight, I ordered a thin crust half pep/half plain pizza. What I received wasn't thin. I was SO upset, I was basically a tantrumming toddler and messaged Carluccis complaining about the pizza not being up to thin crust standards, but I never expected them to respond! Carlucci's messaged me back IMMEDIATELY, and let me know there had been an error. They then sent out a new thin crust pizza! I am so sorry that I ever doubted you Carlucci's. We looked for a pizza place that was taking COVID seriously. We bypassed other pizza joints based on negative reviews regarding masks. Carlucci's had a statement on Yelp that made it seem like they were sanitizing often and offering curbside pickup in the parking lot upon request. When I called they said I had to come in. The statement is either misleading or outdated. We were extremely disappointed to arrive and see that none of the staff we observed were wearing masks. We questioned why they aren't wearing masks and the employee said "only when we have to." Ummmm, actually you DO HAVE TO. It was totally bizarre. This wasn't just a case of not wearing the mask properly ... literally not a mask in sight. It was getting late for dinner and we had already waited 45 mins (otherwise I would have just chosen to go elsewhere). I will say that our food was good. We enjoyed the Parmesan bites. The traditional pizzas were very tasty. No matter what size pizza you order, they cut it into 8 slices. We ordered 16in so the slices were huge. I do not understand the total disregard for proper safety measures at this time. I would not return and can't recommend it based on our experience. read more

Which is fine just that I ordered based on the prices they have on their current menu and so I felt cheated. had I not questioned this they would've just handed me my order without ever notifying me of their price changes. The staff then proceeded to say prices went up just like gas prices and everything else! long story short it was false advertising. i Wanted to pay what it showed on menus and they weren't having that. This was our first time ordering from Carlucci's. This is really good local peez, with lots of yummy cheese and real shrooms and high-quality pepperoni. The parm bites are also amazing, taste great with plenty of garlic buttery parm. Old School pizzeria here, nothing fancy but the smells are drool-worthy. Glad we finally stopped in. Ordered the deluxe, and the ingredients were plentiful. The picture of the menu on FB said the price was $16.25 for a 12 inch. The new price = $24.50!!!!!!!! So, they advertise one price(bait) and then charge 33% more (switch). I don't think FB charges them to up load a current picture. They know when they need to raise their prices and should manage their on-line presence with the same attention. Hopefully their patrons like surprises and have received a 33% raise. read more

First and last visit. Pizza wasn't that warm, crust was tough and everything seemed extra salty. If you like tasting the different flavors of the pizza it's disappointing. I don't know it's the cheese they use or what, but the whole pie wasn't flavorful... Staff need better phone manners as well; the girl talked so fast, and asked me multiple times what I wanted on my pizza. Two toppings! Also - they charge for using a debit or credit card which is another reason they got 2 stars. I will not patronize restaurants that give you a total then give you a credit card receipt with a different amount and a "customer service fee" tacked on. And you're screwed at that point because they already charged your card. I should have been verbally told there was an additional fee and consented so I had an option to pay cash. Holy cow did I find a gem with this place. The parmesan bites were to die for - completely loaded with garlic butter, spices and parmesan cheese. We got the Chicago style pizza - ham, pepperoni and bacon with a parmesan, oregano, butter crust. Oh man it was so good. It was a decent priced place, but not cheap.
