Arrived at Terminal 5 in time to grab a coffee and something to eat before checking in my cases. Whilst there isn't much to choose before you go through I thought I would try carluccio's. Have to say I was disappointed the staff were friendly and engaging from the moment I arrived at the door including making sure I had somewhere I could leave my large case before being shown to my table. The area was clean and tidy and the menu had a number of different choices all of which looked pretty good if I am honest. I decided to go for a black coffee (mmmmmm) and scrambled eggs with mushrooms on toast. It arrived fairly quick. The food tastes good and the coffee was strong but nice and all together def hit the spot. If you have time de worth a stop here to fill yourself up

As far as T5 eating options go, this is probably one of the better ones. It's before security though so that won't suit everyone but I had tonnes of time so opted to eat here rather than Gordon Ramsay/Waga on the other side. I ordered the chicken schnitzel as well as the aubergine caponata. Food was quick and actually delicious - probably some of the nicest airport food I've had. I also had a wine and coke so the bill was a little hefty but worth it. The dining space is relaxed and the staff were really friendly. You could almost forget you're in an airport.

Airport and airplane food are always the worst aren't they? If you agree, then take a simple piece of advice and go here instead while at Heathrow. I had a meeting with a contractor and it went even better because of the fact that he liked the place and would be kept satisfied for most of his time on the plane. We ordered calamari, mixed olives and cheesy garlic bread to start off with and share between the three of us. The calamari was very tasty and the garlic bread was exactly what I needed. For mains, we got the sea bass, steak and breaded chicken which were nicely flavoured. I've been to this restaurant before but in central London so I was looking forward to their potatoes and I wasn't let down! I was so happy. We had tea and coffee to down everything with and ordered a selection of biscuits to go with it. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, asking us if we were OK and advising on alternatives incase they did not have something available. For starters, main, drinks and tea/coffee the price came up to £80 who I'm sure you too would find it worth the price which really isn't that bad! Also, Whether or not you're the traveller, there is a little section filled with Carluccio's goodies which you can buy. I know where to eat now at Heathrow !

Customer service is amazing.OMG! This is a brilliant meringue spot! That is all I ordered because I wanted something small and sweet. I ordered the pistachio meringue it was nice solid to touch, but like light and sweet when it touched your tongue. This was the best meringue I have had in a pretty decent time. In a world where travel is expensive and so is the United Kingdom, a good to know tip! if you have children they may eat here for free.

A piece of Italy in the Airport! Excellent service and excellent food quality. I would give 4.5 stars if I could.. My minor disappointment was to come for a late breakfast (about noon) and learn that it would take a long time for the food to arrive (the server warned it could take 20 min, which I did not have). With that said, at least she warned me! The server seemed genuinely Italian and the food quality was what you would expect from a bistro in Italy, not an airport restaurant. I was even asked if I wanted robusta coffee or arabica coffee! That was the first time I have ever been asked that--- arabica of course! was my answer. This is a world I want to live in!!! The coffee (americano) was GREAT. I settled on the ravoli over the pasta carbonara at the server's suggestion. It was eggy and light... delicious. Food at the other tables all looked delicious also. As was alluded to in other reviews, the servers were somewhat understaffed. With that said, I would rather have excellent people who are a tiny bit slow than uninformed servers who are fast. This is likely the best place for any meal in Terminal 5.

Eggs Benedict, tea. The hollandaise was a little bland but excellent for airport food.

Good food, relaxed environment away from the airport bustle. I had the eggs Benedict and they were quite good. Not what I was used to but I'm American and used to buffet style Benedict. The sauce was a little bland but that's about it. It was about £10 so I think worth it for the price.

This is a fabulous family Italian restaurant in Burnham…read more It opened around six months ago, and has around 30 tables. But already it is worth booking, because it has already become so popular. And here's why. The food is fantastic. The menu is wide, including all the normal Italian dishes you would expect from a good Italian restaurant, such as a variety of pasta, pizza, meat, and a couple of fish dishes. The pizza is home made from scratch and cooked in a wood fired pizza oven. Made with fresh ingredients, both kids and adults love them. The pasta is also home made, with a good range of sauces, such as bolognaise, seafood and penne arrabiate. If you like lasagne, they make one of the nicest I have ever had. Huge portion and so delicious. Tonight, we started with octopus and aubergine. The octopus came with a tomato sauce, on a bed of curried mashed potatoes. The aubergine was baked in a cheese sauce. For the main course, we had steak with a pepper sauce and vegetables, served in an attract wooden slab. And a chicken baked on a creamy gorgonzola sauce. Although we did not ask for it, the restaurant thought roast potatoes would be nice with the meal, so they brought us a portion on the house. We finished off with sticky toffee pudding. Unusually, not too heavy, coming with ice cream and cinnamon sugar, a great way to end. The food was perfectly cooked, and tasted exquisite. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We went earlyish, so there were plenty of kids. The brought a very happy feel to the place. The staff were completely comfortable with it all. In fact, the restaurant is a place that seems laid back with just about anything. You can wear what you like, go for an intimate meal or go with a party of friends. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and warm. We have been a number of times. The meal generally costs between £30-£70 for two. Tonight, the meal cist £71 include bottle of Montpulcianno wine. Thoroughly recommended. If you go, you are in for a treat, with or without kids, alone or in a party. But you would be wise to book if you want to be sure you will not have to wait for a table.
