It's not one of those messy all over the place burgers; it sat quietly in the paper wrap while I was munching on it. It was tasty. Having said that, I'm not very convinced about these places that take cooked chicken out of a drawer and stick it on the grill though. Pizza, I went for a simple thin base cheese one with extra sweetcorn and mushrooms and double extra cheese (oh yes). They don't do olives. Actually, Sainsbury's pizza counter don't do olives either - what's with that?? Anyway, it was average - average base, average ingredients, nothing to sing or dance about. And no sign of the double "if you think you've put too much cheese on then add some more" extra cheese :/ Would I go back? Possibly. It's cheap.

If it wasn't for our server Karolena, I would have rated this place a 1-star…read more When we got there, there was a complete disconnect and lack of communication between the servers and the host - 3 different people attended to us but no one could seat us despite seeing empty tables. One of the employees sat us at a table to be later told to move because that table was reserved. The first 15 min left a bad taste in my mouth and yet decided to be patient when we finally got seated. I had decided that if the service continued the way it did - we would walk away. Fortunately, Karolena introduced herself as the server and from that point on everything was excellent. She was joyful, prompt, courteous, respectful and made sure we were well attended to. The pizzas we ordered were excellent - the one ingredient I didn't care for were the capers but everything else was wonderful. Thank you Karolena for the amazing service you provided and hope the management is able to train the remaining staff to be as service oriented as you are.

There were 6 of us but we ordered very simple drinks, a few beers (all of the same type), a scotch and a rum and coke. It took us 25 mins to get our drinks even though there were 2 people behind the bar and only about 4 others at the bar, none of which were ordering mind you. The bar staff was just more interested in cleaning up than helping people it seemed. The girl rolled her eyes and glared the whole time she was making the drinks, and had to ask after each drink she made what else it was that we had wanted. All this was done while wearing her house slippers. I was very unimpressed, and felt extremely uncomfortable the entire time. I would rather brave the overcrowded Red Lion than be glared at while I try to have a quick drink.

The restaurant is a small Italian restaurant near Uxbridge, and is quite the find, particularly for an out of towner. Da Remo should certainly pride itself on the service it provides its guests. We had wonderful service - timely, without oppressing us with constant presence. For a large group that just showed up and surprised them, they handled us nicely and didn't have any problem serving the group and keeping up with our needs. When we had questions, they were good about explaining different menu items and helping us determine what we wanted to order. I had 3 courses with my meal - antipasti, the main course, and dessert. Everything I had was fantastic. The cannoli I ordered was incredibly good - the best I've ever had. My main course was a variant on chicken cordon bleu, and was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I finished with the cheesecake (not NY style), which made a nice finish to the evening. I had the house red wine with my dinner and was quite pleased - it had a nice bouquet and finish, and paired well with my meal. Everything was perfect, which is difficult to pull off with a large group.
