I had never been to a chiropractor prior to Dr. Carlson. I had several accidents (auto, water, kid-related, etc.) growing up and as an adult and as a result, had pretty bad migraines. I took Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Advil, Aspirin, and countless other OTC meds...a lot. In fact, every day...sometimes all day long, if I was having a "bad day." I had some sort of bottle of pain reliever in every frequented spot (desk at home, desk at work, my car, husband's truck, bathroom cabinet, kitchen cabinet, in my purse, etc.). I absolutely could not function if the migraines took hold. I don't think I was ever without neck pain and at least a mild headache...the meds were to keep the pain to a dull roar. I had tried my MD, but he offered no solution and just prescribed the heavy duty meds...but I was unable to function as a mother, wife, employee, etc. on those drugs...so my stint with prescription meds was short lived. Then I went to work for Dr. Carlson and he went to work on my neck. Within 3 months, I was only taking pain relievers to get started in the morning (my neck/head being the worst after tossing and turning all night)...with the occasional "bad day." Before much longer, I was able to get right up (most mornings) and start my day without any pain relievers. And finally...I had a new normal. What had become my life (neck pain, headaches, migraines, pain relievers, interrupted sleep, etc. etc. etc.) was now in the past. Oh I do occasionally get a headache...but like a normal person...few and far between. I would recommend chiropractic to anyone...and I would recommend my doctor, Dr. Carlson, to everyone. It was a life-changer for me and my family, not only because they benefited from me becoming pain free...but they too have all seen Dr. Carlson for one reason or another. Dr. Carlson has worked on my husband, father-in-law, 3 children, daughter-in-law, and 2 of my grandchildren (one when she was 1 year old for chronic ear infections and the other around 8 for severe migraines). If you haven't tried chiropractic... call 512-447-9093 and set an appointment today. It could change your life, too. Did I mention he has a great staff? They are always cheerful, friendly, and helpful. A pleasant office to visit. Sherry M read more

When my neck couldn't move a bit and had to roll myself off of bed on a Saturday morning, I Googled to find a nearby chiropractor that could take me in. Most of them were closed of course and the earliest one to open was Dr. Carlson. He was God-sent! He gave me a very mild adjustment based on the x-ray and diagnosis and asked me to go back again in a few hours. I was very emotional when I couldn't really do much with such severe pain and could only lay down in bed, but after the second adjustment I was able to move a little more and continued to host the 1-yr birthday dinner for my baby girl that evening with a soft neck support. I went back diligently 2-3 times a week for 8 weeks to get my neck, shoulder and upper back treated. Along with the exercise they showed me, the movement on my neck has improved drastically, X-ray tells it all. With several additional weeks of treatment as I want to not only resolve the neck issue but to sustain a healthy living, my neck has improved to as good as I could get. Pinched nerves were gone, neck was moving normally, and the number of headaches that I used to get have reduced drastically. I believe in chiropractor, but only with the right Doc. I would recommend Dr. Carlson to anyone who is in pain. He is caring, professional and skillful. His staffs are fantastic, especially Sherri and Anna, each morning they will both give the warmest and sometimes funniest welcomed. The other important things when visiting a doctor's office that I rarely seen at others, are on-time and accurate billing. I never had to wait for more than 10 mins to get treated, in most of the appointments I was walking in and out in less than 10 in fact. And I never had to worry about the billing piece, Sherri takes care of it very well. read more

I have experienced back pain for many years and recently began having neck pain as well. Dr. Carlson came to our school one day and I made an appointment--just to see how it went. Even after my consultation, I was not totally convinced chiropractic care was for me, but the out-of-pocket expenses were reasonable enough to give it a try. I began with adjustments amd muscle stimulation and began to feel better. I finally decided I would try spinal decompression and I can feel the difference after each treatment. My posture is greatly improved and though I still experience some pain or discomfort when I overdo things, it is considerably less intense and fades quickly. I am glad I decided to try chiropractic care, especially with Dr. Carlson. The staff always greets you with a smile, treats you kindly, listens when you express concerns or ask questions, and everybody knows your name. I feel comfortable and confident with my care and with my choice--I recommend Carlson Chiropractic to anyone looking for quality care. read more

I have had ongoing back pain for a couple weeks now and I have tried almost everything and this point I was willing to try anything for some kind of relief. I google south Austin chiropractors and #1 was carlson chiropractor so I called and the receptionist was very thorough over the phone for new patient prices and said they conveniently have weekend hours as well. I wanted to call around and when I did everyone else seem to be to busy to answer any questions as well as acknowledge that I was in pain. So this morning I called and they fit me in immediately. When walking in I was graciously greeted by the receptionist with a smile and a great attitude. Did my paperwork then the dr came out greeted me in the lobby brought me back did my exam with a smile. He explained everything to me with the ease of understanding his fancy words :-) plus his pictures and diagrams and what he could do for me as far as treatment. Definitely satisfied with my choice of making that phone call again. I will be returning :-) read more

I met Dr. Carlson at my employer's health and wellness conference. I scheduled an appointment with him and received a free consultation. I reported a dull pain in my lower back and neck that I learned to live with over the past three years. Dr. Carlson encouraged me to work with him and start feeling good again. He even called me after my first adjustment because of possible soreness as a result of feeling dull pain for so long. He wanted to make sure I was doing ok. This type of consumer service helped me trust him and want to continue treatment. Since I followed his wellness plan and met with him three times a week over a two month period I have never felt better. I am like a new person. I don't need to take anti-inflammatory medication for back and neck pain anymore, and I feel great! I will continue to see Dr. Carlson for continuity of care and encourage anyone who is in need of chiropractic care to go to Dr. Carlson. read more

My son and I have been going to Carlson Chiropractic for eight years. That is when I started suffering from occasionally severe back pain--it sometimes felt like I was in labor! I've got scoliosis (the reason for my pain), and thanks to Dr. Carlson I haven't had any intense back pain in years : ) When I hear about people who have to take pain medication every day, I thank God I don't have to do that! If medicine would correct the source of the problem, without causing the stomach lining to deteriorate & without giving me medicine head, I might consider it--but no medicine can deliver all that! Furthermore, Dr. Carlson has helped my son with his seasonal asthma. By the way, his staff is excellent & they will help with financing. Thank you Dr. Carlson! read more

I fell on a Friday morning and my left shoulder hurt badly. I called the doctors on my insurance lists because I am fairly new to this area, I started calling the first one listed. The first 5 I called I got an answering machine and asked me to leave a message. I didnt. I feel that a doctors office that won't answer the phone can't care about their patients. I called Dr. Carlson's office and was greeted with a cheerful front desk worker named Anna. She even offered me an appointment that morning! Dr. Carlson immediately took action and found I had a dislocated shoulder. He gave me instructions on what I needed to do until my next visit. I'm so happy that I found a true doctor that cares! I highly recommend this doctor! read more

I am quite obese. Because of this I have occasional but sever back pain. I have seen a number of chiropractor's over the years. Dr Carlson is the only one I would call a real doctor. He takes x-rays and measurements and builds his treatment on real science. He listens and is honest in what he can do and identifying what you need to do to get better. His focus is on wellness instead of drugs. read more

This Chiropractic Office is very professionally managed. The appointments are on time, and the associates are so polite and friendly. Dr. Carlson helped me tremendously with a laser treatment for a facial pain, and well with adjustments. I am convinced that both treatments not only aided in my recovery, but helped to speed it along. I have no hesitations recommending Dr. Carlson. read more
