Double Famous Star®

I was just there not long ago and I just got off a closing shift so I'm tired, I don't wanna make a mess in the kitchen, I just want something ready to eat. Plus in my kitchen/living room someone sleeps on the couch so I don't want to make so much noise. I asked for no cheese on my burger and they said okay, when to the window payed and I will say bad on my part was not checking my receipt but I expect you to be paying full attention to me talking about my order to you. I didn't check the bag until I got home but once I did I was really annoyed. I'm lactose intolerant so I can't have cheese, I'm not a fan of it either. I'm sad I have to waste this food, I'm annoyed I payed for this and it's not what I asked for at all. I don't recommend coming to this location, get better people to take orders who will listen to you and won't rush you and interrupt you.

Double western bacon cheeseburger and Fried Zucchini

Shoutout to Martin!! He provides great customer service, is always friendly with us, and makes sure our order is correct. He's always there during the night shifts, even on weekends and holidays. We've seen him working on Christmas and New Year's! He's often juggling multiple jobs, sometimes even cooking while handling the cashier because they're short-staffed. Great dude! I wasn't much of a fast food person until my boyfriend and his family introduced me to Carl's Jr. Now, I'm hooked! Our go-to order is the Double western bacon cheeseburger and fried zucchini. Perfect for those late night munchies. Our orders are always perfect--hot and ready on time. I've tried other Carl's Jr. locations, but this one never disappoints. Please be patient with the staff. It's surprising to see negative reviews, especially for a place that's open 24/7. So you can imagine what the employees deal with everyday, especially at night time--everything from rowdy customers to unexpected situations. If you want respect, give it back. And sure, sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but they're doing their best with limited staff. If you can't handle that, maybe try somewhere else.

Providing this location with a single star feels insulting; if possible, I would rate it zero stars. The customer service during nighttime was exceptionally poor--stupid, dumb, and rude. I placed an order online, but upon arrival, my order wasn't in the system. The customer service representative, who couldn't speak English well, displayed a disrespectful attitude. Moreover, he insisted on charging a higher amount and refused to honor the online prices, despite me showing him my order confirmation. Carl's Jr. disappointed me, and there are plenty of other options for midnight snacks. In the end, I chose Taco Bell instead.

Super star with cheese

The roommate eats dinner late in SJ because he works at a restaurant. Since I was running around all day on Friday, September 25th, we grabbed dinner together. It was around 10pm and we used the drive through. I believe it's open 24 hours. I got a Famous star with cheese, Crisscut fries and a Diet coke. I rarely eat fast food on my own, so being in SJ typically means a late night food run when eating with the roommate. There aren't many Carl's Jr's by my place in SF, so this was a treat. I ate my whole burger sans bun. Realized I probably should have gotten it protein style or low carb or whatever they call it here, but it was a decent burger. Meatier than the burgers at other fast food joints. The drive through was pretty packed, but it went by quickly. Probably about 8 mins from the time we got in line until we got our food. I don't expect much from fast food except for speed and consistency. This location delivered in both areas, so no complaints.

They let someone steal my doordash order and did nothing to make it right. Waited over an hour and two dashers later for nothing.

This eatery sells Colombian burgers and fast food for pick-up or delivery only, from a building…read moreshared with the Center for Employment Training in downtown SJ. This is their current location, but I don't think it's their permanent place of business. Just for the time being. Google maps will take you to a parking lot entrance that's closed, blocked by a chain, so make sure you enter the parking lot on Locust Street. I ordered online, and the wait time was a bit long (20+ minutes) but not terrible. And once you arrive, there's a sign near the parking lot directing you to walk down an alley-like path. No signs at the door, just a dumpster outside. Yup, that's where you pick up. It feels like you're walking through the back door of a restaurant kitchen. Actually when you step inside, it indeed IS the kitchen which doubles as a pickup spot (no seats, no signs, I just showed the guy my order on my phone and he handed me my food packed neatly in a paper bag). I got the perro loco which comes with fries on the side, and an arepa with cheese. I didn't like that customers can't customize items when ordering online for pick up. Also wasn't a fan of the pineapple sauce, though I think that's one of the things they're known for. But the hot dog was still good, generous with the toppings and certainly unique. The sausage was plump and juicy with a mild flavor. The fries were delicious as well, and didn't taste cheap. And the mini arepa with cheese was buttery and had a nice texture. Altogether it made for a filling meal.

The menu is extensive with a mix of options (including a vegetarian burger). I ordered El Apto which came with a beef patty, bacon, shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato...all between a brioche bun. This came with fries and a side of pineapple sauce and apto sauce. I dipped my fries in the apto sauce and it was so good! The pineapple sauce goes well in the burger and also on the fries. The beef patty was perfectly seasoned and so juicy. All the flavors were amazing and tasted so fresh. I loved the crispy bacon and the shredded chicken. The chicken was well flavored and they put an ample amount on top of the burger. Wow! What a great combo. I also tried the maracuya (passion fruit) drink and it was so good! I like that it wasn't too sweet. It's fresh and refreshing. They are pretty busy because it's their opening so there might be a wait but it's totally worth it. There are tables around for you to sit so it's casual. The owner is so nice and you can tell he is very proud of his food. Highly recommend!!

DH and I shared the beet salad - so subtle for beets. He even enjoyed it, even though he isn't a "beet person". We then shared the lamb chop appetizer with the best tzatziki outside of Greece. Both of us completely enjoyed the Wagyu filet - we aren't huge eaters so next time we will split it. At $68 this is a steal! Finally, we were comped a Caramel Popcorn Sunday to celebrate my birthday - decadent! We sat outside, toward the back - this felt like one of the quieter areas. We will definitely be back!

Hero Ranch is located in one of the more overlooked downtowns of Saratoga, which has a quaint throwback feel and vibe. The Good: * Dog-friendly outdoor dining. * Reservations via OpenTable. * Fantastic service by Katelyn L.; she was the perfect server: knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and was friendly without being overly smarmy. * Nice stiff drinks (old-fashioned), and my girlfriend's mocktail (Pink Slip) was fantastic. * The cornbread and fried chicken appetizer was very tasty and served in an interesting presentation. The bacon wasn't really necessary, in our opinion, but this place likes to rely on food crutches; more on that later. * The pork chop was delicious, cooked well, and paired beautifully with the apricot glaze. * The seasonal pumpkin ravioli was also delicious, albeit a little greasy from the brown butter, but if you see it still on the menu, it's worth an order. The Meh: * Street and city lot parking only, but it's free. Street parking can be difficult to come by during busier hours, so be sure to look out for the city-owned lots that are located off the main drag. * If you like black truffle on everything, then this is the place for you. Suffice it to say, we are not fans. They literally cram it into almost every possible item, even as a sauce for the cornbread and fried chicken appetizer. Fortunately, we asked for the sauce on the side, and I did try some with the chicken and cornbread, but it brought nothing to the party. * They were out of almost all their beers on tap on a Saturday night. How is this possible? Piss poor planning, that's how. The Ugly: * The outdoor seating is hit-or-miss; if they put you under the patio with a large party, then you should be good to go. However, if you get seated at a two-top in the aisle like we did, prepare to be barraged by a constant stream of customers, servers, food runners, chefs, managers, and God knows who else walking by you every thirty seconds. At first, it was mildly amusing, but as the night went on, it started getting very annoying and put a bit of a damper on our first date night in weeks. Overall, it was a mediocre experience that could have easily been much better depending on where we were seated.

The burger was fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. Honestly, I liked it even more than Billy Roy's smash burger, and they're amazing. The chicken fries were miles better than Burger King's, came in a generous portion, and tasted freshly made--definitely worth the price. I also really enjoyed the South Asian spices in the sauce and chicken fry seasoning. This was my first visit to their brick-and-mortar location, though I've ordered from their food truck before. Once you enter, you'll see some booths off to the side, a few bar stools and you can either order at the giant screen by the door or with the cashier. The menu is pretty straightforward. I opted for the single, my husband opted for the double, and we got some cajun fries to share. The place itself isn't big and it can be tough waiting for a table to open up if you come during busy hours, but we got lucky enough to snag a table. I will say, the staff was friendly. The food did take a while and I assume it's due to a mixture of online orders and in person orders so business is booming at least. Overall, I think the food was fine. I like the sauce they use in their burgers, but the cajun fries fell for me (got soggy in the cup) and the prices are kind of steep.
