I ordered the pall for my mothers casket at carls a couple months ago. I had her casket closed so this arrangement needed to be about twice the size of a traditional one that just covers the end. It was the most beautiful arrangement of flowers I've ever seen in all my life. The colors were perfect the flowers were exactly what I asked for - it covered the entire top of the casket AND they delivered it to centerville for me to the funeral home. I wanted to call and thank them personally but I thought this would do them one better. Thank y'all so much. I have known the owners of Carl's Flowers in Dickson basically as long as I can remember. I grew up in this fair town, and from time to time I have a need to order arrangements to deliver to friends and family. Consistently, the staff of Carl's do a great job at putting together arrangements to your specifications and letting you know what's fresh and looking really good for a decent price at any given point. This is a small town florist, so if you want the funeral stand with a plastic toy telephone that says "Jesus called," - they'll do it for you. But, if you want something a little more artistic, more creative, more contemporary that you might normally expect in a small town - they'll do that, too. This is an independent family-owned and operated business, so if you don't get Mom or Dad answering the phone, it's likely to be one of the two (adult) daughters or their son. My past several orders from Carl's have not been the best quality. The arrangements look as if they are just thrown together, and honestly I could go to Kroger and buy flowers and arrange them better myself. However, I try to do business locally, and continue to give chances. The owners and family are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and have been a staple in the community for longer than I've been alive, however times have changed and the floral game has too. On Valentine's day this year I ordered a friend of mine a tulip arrangement. Unfortunately, knowing it would not be up to par I had one of her coworkers send me a pic as soon as it arrived. It was not a tulip arrangement. It was full of lilies, some iris, and carnations. When I called and ordered the arrangement, I was actually told it would have to be a little more pricey to do a good tulip arrangement. So I paid more. Which wasn't a problem, until they arrived and there were no tulips. After further inspection, two tulips were found, but definitely not a tulip arrangement. I called the shop, to which I was told that I had ordered an arrangement with a "few tulips". When I stated that I had ordered a tulip arrangement, I was just told that they wrote down a "spring bouquet with a few tulips". I explained that that's not what I ordered, but then again they stated it is what I ordered. I gave up, because you can tell when you're just not going to get anywhere with someone. So I paid extra for a tulip arrangement that I didn't get, and then told I ordered something I did not. Unfortunately I will not be doing business with this business in the future. read more

To put it in perspective, I am out of state so trying to make arrangements-and scheduled deliveries were disrupted due to the tornadoes the previous weekend. I called today from out of state to order something very last minute to be delivered to a funeral home for a visitation that's starting in just a couple of hours, and the customer service was amazing. I spoke to the owner's daughter, and she was extremely informative, patient, and kind. I am not familiar with any Dickson florists, so I kind of felt like I was blindly picking a business, and I'm so glad that Carl's Flowers was who I called first!
