Asked us all the kindest questions and as a fellow server in the industry I loved getting to talk to her / listening to her recommendations for drinks, she was so great. Carlos O'Bryans is the sister pub/restaurant/bar?... of the more family oriented Kelly O'Bryan's restaurant, only a block or two down the street. Kelly O'Brien's is yet another Irish pup/restaurant... and you would think you would not need clone of the same restaurant less than 100m down the block. OK, what is the story with the 'Carlos' thing? this really confuses me... there is nothing Latin, or Mexican about it! It has the same faux Irishesque decor, same dark draft beer (light stuff too) same menu, no it actually is the same menu (marked up in red sharpy by hand, classy!). I guess, as it was explained to me, they are trying to take the family aspect out of the "Kelly O's" experience and market to the 20-30 somethings, but did the owners really think that the Irish pub thing is not already soo played out that you could get away with it again... on the same street! The positives; it is clean, lively, serving staff is prompt-ish, good beer selection and vast low shelf hard bar selection (anything you want to mix with soda). Being a tourist in Kamloops, BC I really did not know what to expect. This pub has two floors and like all clubs on a Saturday night, it was busy, however we found seats, drank some dranks and grubbed on some orgasmic appies... Our Bartender/ Server took care of our basic needs, cocktails and eats...which were came fast, hot and tasty. I meant the food LOL. Really love going there. The atmosphere is fabulous, the severs are fabulous. The music gets you rockin. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the patio on the roof in the summer. The food is great. It's the same as Kelly Os but no screaming kids which is FABULOUS!! It's great to get a bunch of people together and have drinks and appys. A group of us visited this joint for drinks and appies. On the positive side, the booth tables are excellent and you can have a conversation without screaming. But overall, we came away a resonant feeling of "meh". The laminated plastic menu is pretty generic "laminated plastic" chain food is trucked in from outside, the appies we had were soggy and drenched in grease, and the servers in weird short short skirts bugged us every 5 minutes for more drinks (ugh). By time we got there the state of the washrooms were pretty blarrgh. If you're a lover of boring corporate chains with a look from from the late 70s, or don't care about quality, this may be your venue. Not ours. read more

Don't come for the food, it's mediocre at best. Beer is cold, lots of TVs on multiple events and a billiards table which is fun if the room isn't booked for a "private function". Overall one of the better Friday night hang outs in the area. read more

I have come here a lot , can't believe I have not done a review ! Ok, lunch ( again ) on the rooftop patio. Very quiet, very hot day ! Great service, 2 servers looking after us. Fast service. I ordered the Greek Wrap, with Broccoli Soup . Very good. Partner had the Yorkie's, smelled and looked delicious. I had Ice Tea. Prices are what I call ' average ' . It has a street level patio as well, as 2 floors of tables and bar's inside. Its a big place. I gave it 5 stars, as there was nothing to complain about. read more

So stopped in for a drink to kill some time. Hiked from the street to the rooftop patio, passing two servers deep in discussion near the upstairs cash at the bar. Found a nice seat on the patio and after ten minutes waiting for someone I got and left, passing the same two servers a second time. Really really bad service. I recommend you try The Commodore. Never been there and took a friend for lunch. After finding a table and seating our selves we got menus and then waited. And waited and waited. I look to the bar and the waitress is BS'ing at the bar with a couple of people. She finally decided to come see us and we ordered and waited and waited. I had ordered a one piece fish and chips and when it finally arrived, it was obviously a small pre-made piece of fish. No lemon or tarter sauce. Pretty disappointing considering how the menu raved about their high quality fish. Not a place I wish to return to. Considering we were one table out of three for lunch in the whole place, it could have been a lot better in both service and quality. read more

Poor service, screwed up order, food below average. The first time I went to this place (don't want to give the respect by identifying it as a food establishment), I was with a group and they forgot my order. It was a large group so I didn't hold it against them. The next time I went, with about 6-8 people for lunch, they missed my order AGAIN! Third time, order screwed up. The fourth time was the staff Xmas party (the only reason I went again). It took over 4 attempts to get a waitress to take my order. We were given cards to fill out our order and I held it up waving it and stating "here is my order" when the waitresses came to our table and all I got was a blank stare. The waitresses left WITHOUT my order. Later in the night I ordered a drink that NEVER showed up. Yes, I hadn't paid for it yet and could have tried ordering it again - but I was so PISSED OFF at the service I couldn't bother trying it again. I just bad mouthed the place to my co-workers and left. I told the people at my table if a bill comes for my non-existent drink tell them it never showed up. When the food does show up, the majority of the time it is warm to cold. I only wished I could give a negative star review - it would be at least a negative 4 star. read more

Forget it this is one of the worst places we have ate at in Kamloops and will not go back. Maybe pachos to go but if you cant do ribs or prime rib right and Im telling you they were not even close to being ok dishes. Awful in fact and if you cant do ribs or prime rib the right way then I can almost bet the chicken dishes are not worth trying either. Wouldnt even bring the inlaws there and I dont like the inlaws much. Save your money and go somehwere else Carlos Obryans is a dud for sure!!! read more
