Excellent, came as soon as he could fixed several plugs and added a couple breakers to the box. (I think kind of expensive)

Mr. Carling was, once again, at my house the same day, on time and went beyond the work needing to be done. He's friendly and patient with my many questions. He was also less expensive than the other electrician's that I have called in the past. Hoping he never retires! read more

Ralph came by today and fixed a ceiling light for us and finished off all of our kitchen outlets to prepare for our new backsplash to go in. He was incredibly quick, neat and professional. Would absolutely recommend and hire again. read more

Decided to go with Carling electric after getting several quotes to run power for a new hot tub. I was having a new concrete pad poured and I wanted electrical hidden underneath. I had the trench dug by the concrete guys. Ralph explained his plan to hide as much of the conduit as possible, where boxes would be placed etc. All to code. He would make himself available to get his part done in conjunction with our other contractors. Very easy to communicate with throughout the process. Quoted a very competitive price. Most importantly was a high integrity guy that knew exactly what he was doing. Unlike several other bone heads that I called. The installation was impeccable. Better than I had expected. Would definitely have him do any and all electrical work needed. read more

Used Ralph to install a spa after getting several quotes and very glad I did. Came out and gave me an estimate. Ran the spa panel and then came out the day after it was delivered to hook it up. Very professional and pleasant to work with. Looks great. also helped me add some garage outlets at the same time. I can't recommend enough. read more

I have used Carling Electric for several projects. Ralph is very professional and thorough. Ralph communicated well with me on our projects and did excellent work. He was timely and fairly priced. Ralph did a 220 extension and circuit breaker add for our hot tub and installed fans in our rental unit. I will definitely use Carling again. Excellent work. Professional demeanor. Thorough work. I definitely recommend Ralph and Carling Electric ! read more

Hired Ralph to replace outlets and switches in my mother's home. He was difficult to work with and had poor customer service skills. Some of the outlets he installed did not function. When I pointed this out to Ralph he became unpleasant and defensive. He quipped "I don't make the plugs." Duh, as if I did not know that, but he was installing them and the plugs were not defective, it was his install that was the problem! Overall, it was a hassle to deal with his attitude and I would not hire him again. read more

Ralph was friendly and professional. He provided an excellent solution for converting my current recessed lighting to LED. He completed the job flawlessly. I definitely plan to use his services again. read more

Amazing customer service! I wouldn't look any further. We were referred to Ralph by Hot Tub Place of Sacramento for hot tub wiring. As someone who has had to deal with a LOT of Contractor's, Ralph is one of the top notch professionals. Ralph provided a reasonable quote on the spot and was flexible in scheduling. He is professional, courteous, HONEST and very knowledgeable in his trade. Ralph did a great job, his work is neat and a pleasure to deal with. I recommend Ralph of Carling Electric to anyone looking for an electrician and won't hesitate to call Ralph again for future electrical needs. Call Ralph (Carling Electric) - HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

Ralph was great! Called him in the morning and he was able to come over and resolve my problem quickly. He also resolved some other long-term minor issues we had around the house. I highly recommend him. read more

Ralph Carling was recommended to us by Hot Tub Place when purchasing our Bullfrog Spa. He was great to work with! Installed a sub-panel for spa electrical. Very reasonable pricing, on time, and did nice, clean work to my picky standards (no conduit showing). Returns calls, easy to communicate with and a nice guy! Definitely recommend. read more

I called on a Saturday afternoon needing help with an issue with a LED pool light we were trying to instal for our teenagers birthday party tonight. The switch was not working. I called to see if anyone was available to look at it today to get it working- there weren't any openings today but he asked me what was happening with the light. I gave him very basic information , and he was able to troubleshoot the problem over the phone ! He knew exactly what the issue was with out even seeing it, which was amazing! Clearly he is knowledgeable in his field ! He definitely saved the day and the party ! I will be calling him for any electrical work that comes up in the future. read more

I had a sudden unexpected electrical issue with my house that I was getting ready to rent out. I'd been living in it up until now so this was a brand new issue that happened while we were cleaning it. I was freaking out since I'm getting ready to show it, and called Ralph a bit frantic. He was able to fit me in that evening, which was wonderful. He quoted me a price range saying that these things usually are within that range since one of the circuits in my house wasn't working. Anyways, he calls me about 45 mins before and lets me know when he'll be there, shows up on time, and starts working on it. He was a bit stumped at first (which we didn't blame him because we had already checked all the usual suspects before even calling him), but was determined to figure it out. After a couple hours he was able to figure out the issue and fix it! While he was there we also had him fix another electrical issue with an outside light that I'd ignored for a couple of years. We talked about price and we agreed on just above the price range he'd quoted me over the phone, because it had taken longer than he'd expected. Bottom line, he's very nice, very patient, determined, and explained everything that he did to us. We appreciated his responsiveness and his willingness to fit us in after normal work hours. I will definitely be calling him in the future for any other electrical needs that we can't figure out! 5 Stars!!! read more

We recently moved and found that our new house needed lighting and fans in the bathrooms and laundry room. We searched for a contractor that could do this kind of work that we knew would include installing some new ducting. Through Yelp, we learned that Ralph has done this kind of work for others, and that his customers were very satisfied. Ralph responded very promptly to our call, and came to our house to assess the work that was needed. There were some things that were unusual, such as an inoperative central exhaust fan in the attic for the bathrooms and some unusual lighting issues; but Ralph seemed to understand what needed to be done so we scheduled the actual workday. On the day that the work was to be done, Ralph and my husband went to Home Depot to purchase the equipment and materials needed. My husband told me how impressed he was with how quickly and efficiently Ralph picked out the materials, and how he took the time to explain how these materials would be used. I had to run an errand for an hour. By the time I got back, Ralph had already changed out several lights and had started installing one of 4 new exhaust fans that included changing out switch boxes to add fan operation switches. The installation required climbing up into our very warm attic to run exhaust conduit from the newly installed fans to the existing central roof exhaust. The attic space is cramped and hot; yet, as my husband, a civil engineer, will attest (since he crawled up there afterwards to inspect the work), Ralph did a beautiful and very professional job. The total project took over 10 hours to complete. Ralph worked diligently throughout that period, taking only a few minutes off at our insistence to break for a bit of lunch. (He then deducted that time from his bill.) We are extremely pleased with how everything turned out, and we were incredibly impressed with Ralph! We will certainly call him the next time we need any electrical work done at our house. read more

Ralph installed all electrical we needed for a new hot tub. Plus he installed a few extra outlets and switches for outdoor lights. He's great to with. Works very hard. And is very smart about solutions. I'm going to be working with him in outdoor cameras etc next month. read more

I have used Ralph Carling twice now. I hired him to replace the ballast in one of my recessed kitchen fluorescent lights. The project required replacing the whole can. He did a good job and was efficient and reasonably priced and I was very satisfied with the work he performed . When I decided to replace all the fluorescent recessed lights with LEDs I called Ralph to do the job. He replaced all six cans and I also had him convert a two-plug outlet in my guest bathroom to a four-plug outlet. Again, I was quite pleased with his work. However, I recommended Ralph to a friend who needed some electrical work done on his house. He called and made an appointment for the following week. But Ralph was a no show. Because I do not like making referrals to friends that don't work out, I have only rated him four stars, whereas I originally gave him five. read more

Ralph is punctual, honest, fair, and pleasant. He has swapped out light switches and crawled in a cramped, insulation filled crawl space to install a bathroom fan, against all odds my house throws at him. I would not contact any other electrician for my needs. read more

Ralph calls you back. Which means a lot more than these other companies that can't even call you to say they're too busy to work for you. Anyways, Did an outstanding job installing motion sensor light at front door. Very happy with workmanship. Also installed some outlets .Reasonable price. Show up as scheduled. Will call again for anything else electrical in my house and highly recommend to others. Will probably call Ralph for my sisters house now. Glad I found a local guy I can trust. read more

I contacted Ralph to get an estimate to install 6 recess lights and two dedicated 20amp circuits in our new house. I've finally found the ONLY electrician for me. Ralph is very friendly, very professional and very prompt. He told he'd be at my place within an hour. He was there in 50 minutes. He was constantly in touch with me. Very honest and very upfront. His prices are very very reasonable. What I like about Ralph. He makes his customers feel very important. Not like JUST another job. I had him quote me for another job. I DON'T need to look for ANYONE else! I would never even consider anyone else; but, Ralph and Carling Electric. Thank you. May God bless you. Ralph installed a 240V 50amp circuit for a hot tub project in my backyard, reasonably priced and a clean professional install.

Ralph did an awesome job! I had just purchased a home and i needed some electrical work done. Ralph had given me an estimate and said he would be able to get started right away and be done in a few days. The work that was needed, I thought would take 3 days, he was able to complete in a day and a half. We're talking 12 LED recessed lights, pulling a dedicated circuit for microwave, installing fan brace with light switches, fixing garage receptacles to meet code, and most of all I trusted him to get it all done while I was at work or away. I definitely will be giving him a call back for more work later! read more

Upsold me on two new hall lights while there to fix other various electrical problems. Did not ask about placement of lights and left a huge mess. When asked how he would remedy the mess he said he would put a vacuum in his car in the future. Also he job he was asked to do he said was impossible so he connected my kitchen light to the dining room light making both go one when turning the kitchen light on. I had talked to him about putting in a remote switch if he couldn't run wire. Said he was unfamiliar with that and offered to come back for more money to install one I purchased later. Calling a new electrician to fix his mess and hopefully they don't find more things wrong with his work. read more

I have had Ralph do work at my house for over 8 years from can lights to full panel changes. He helped me add a 100 amp sub panel for our swim spa and it has worked flawlessly ever since. I have had his work inspected several times thru my city permits and there has never been any corrections needed. Even with the panel change when SMUD came out to pull new service wire to the house they made comments that the electrician knew what he was doing. He just recently helped me wire in another sub panel for my new shop and carport in the back yard he even stayed and put the fan light together before he left. He is quick clean and ready to go when he gets on site. Call him you wont be disappointed. read more

Ralph Carling has done work for us twice. I highly recommend him.

I used Carling because of the previous yelp review. Ralph answered the phone and came out when he said he would. He installed eight recess lighting cans in my house and even met me at Home Depot to get the materials which he put into his truck. He is really easy to work with and his prices are good. He is licensed and insured. I will be using him again and I recommend him. read more

Ralph Carling is the owner of Carling Electric. My husband found him through Home Depot, and he was excellent!! He actually worked on Mother's Day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., then came back to finish later that week. He installed many electrical outlets which will make it much easier decorating at Christmastime. Ralph was not only professional, but he did a great job, and is also a very nice person. He is also very reasonable for the time he takes to get the work done. If you need electrical work done in your home, give him a call. You will be happy you did. read more

We got Ralph Carling's name and number from Redbeacon.com (Home Depot). We called on Sunday and he promptly returned our call. We made an appointment with him to come to our house, later in the week, and install a ceiling outlet in our garage for an additional garage door opener. He arrived on time and installed the outlet. We are now looking at having him install a couple of outdoor outlets we can use during the holidays. As you can see, we are very happy with not only the work, but his prices also. We would definitely recommend him for any electrical job you may have. read more

I had just purchased a dishwasher from Home Depot and when it was being delivered, I was told that it needed a separate outlet created for a "hard wire". I don't even know if I'm saying that correctly. The delivery guys wouldn't even do a swap of the old with new dishwasher until I had this hard wire install completed. So I immediately called Home Depot and they placed a referral to electricians who were on their contractor referral list. Within minutes I received a call from Ralph Carling. He came out that same day and had an outlet installed in no time. I asked him if he wasn't too busy, could he hook up a motion light that I've been wanting and had already bought, and without hesitation he said yes. I usually have bad luck when it comes to finding good contractors, but I'm so glad this one time it worked out very well. I'll definitely be calling Ralph again if I ever need him, and will also be sharing his name and contact information. read more
