This place is terrible we purchase two cards from these people our first car was a BMW there was an oil pan issue and they tried to gum it up with sealer.It was going to cost $2000.00 to fix it .we got into an accident and the car was total.Then we bought a dodge hornet with 8000 miles we got into the car and there was a recall notice for break failure we told them they never fixed the car.We pulled into the driveway and hit the breaks and the car hit my rails and cement step causing the radiator to ruptured.They blamed dodge dodge would not fix it and car 5 said not to bring the car back .They never look there cars over and definitely don't care about there existing customers.Buyers beware read more

I had a very frustrating experience buying a used truck here, and other buyers deserve to know what they're walking into. I purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra, and within days of ownership multiple issues showed up that clearly should have been caught during a proper inspection. Two TPMS sensors weren't reading, the truck had a steering knock during acceleration, I got a "Steering Assist Reduced" safety warning, and there was a front-end squeak when turning at a stop. The dealership did pay for the TPMS sensors, but they sent me to another garage across the street and I ended up waiting over an hour just to get something fixed that should have never been missed in the first place. The biggest concern was how quickly they dismissed the blurry, washed-out backup camera, which is a federally required safety feature on 2018 vehicles. Even though visibility is clearly reduced, they insisted it was "fine" or "not covered." Their explanations didn't match the Massachusetts Used Vehicle Warranty Law, which covers any safety-related defect found within 30 days. It felt like they were trying to avoid responsibility instead of helping a customer who had just bought a truck from them. On top of the mechanical issues, the lack of transparency around fees was extremely disappointing -- a $400+ doc fee, a $700+ paint protection fee, and even a surprise $15 credit card fee for leaving a deposit, none of which were explained upfront. And after paying all that, they delivered the truck with barely a quarter tank of gas. Between the missed safety issues, the dismissive approach to warranty obligations, and the undisclosed fees, I would not recommend buying a vehicle here. If you do, get every fee in writing beforehand and document every issue immediately, because you may find yourself fighting for repairs that should have been handled. read more

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. BUYER BEWARE. I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership for my daughter. My hope was to buy a reliable, safe, used vehicle for her. The vehicle they sold me broke down within 2 hours of leaving the dealership. After the vehicle had to be towed to the Kia dealership (more driving could have caused ENGINE FAILURE) I found out the vehicle has a Theta II engine - KNOWN (through multiple class action lawsuits) to have long-standing engine issues stemming from poor manufacturing and can be prone to breaking down, car fires and more. At best, CarFive is incompetent for not knowing this information; at worst, they are negligent and will buy any vehicle they can to sell to the unsuspecting buyer. They never mentioned any issues with this vehicle to me. I was told it was a great vehicle and had no issues or no recalls. Come to find out there were multiple recalls, none of which had been handled prior to putting it up for resale. Upon learning all this, I requested a refund of my money. They would hear none of it. I don't even know where to begin with how bad my experience was. I did everything right as a customer. Paid full price, followed every instruction, confirmed details multiple times, and still somehow ended up getting completely screwed over. The level of disorganization, dishonesty, and lack of accountability here is unbelievable. They scheduled me for an appointment (which I later found out was apparently through some third party they don't even properly coordinate with). Based on THEIR confirmation, I took a full day off work and drove from TWO STATES AWAY. Let that sink in. Time, money, energy--completely wasted. Before making the trip, I confirmed multiple times that everything--including the windshield--would be ready and taken care of. I was reassured again and again. Then I show up... and suddenly there is no windshield. No solution. No preparation. Just excuses. And it gets worse. Instead of owning the mistake, they brushed it off as a "training moment." For who exactly? Because it sure cost me. Then they tell me I have to come back ANOTHER day and now PAY for something I was explicitly told would be covered. Their excuse? The service manager "wasn't there when the salesperson said it." So apparently their internal miscommunication just becomes the customer's financial burden. They say "sorry" over and over, but it's completely empty. No one takes responsibility. No one fixes the issue. No one makes it right. It's just a loop of apologies while they quietly shift the consequences onto you. This place runs on bait-and-switch tactics--get the deal done, get the car out the door, and then suddenly none of the promises matter anymore. If something goes wrong, it's your problem, not theirs. Now I'm left with a brand new car that has unresolved issues, wasted time, extra expenses, and zero trust in the people who sold it to me. I would NEVER, ever, ever go through this dealership again. I bought a used vehicle for the advertised price, as the young sales man came back with the paperwork there was an added fee of $550 for some kind of paint protection. I disagreed with the extra cost saying that should be part of the listing price. then they added $795 handling fee, which is over the top compared to other dealerships. I asked for the second set of key fobs and the salesperson said, "we don't keep them here, there in our Salem office, and will be mailed to you". two weeks go by, no key fobs, I call and ask where the other fob is and I get the response, oh we don't have one and it'll cost you $500 for a spare. Bought a used vehicle that came with two damaged key fobs. Was told they would replace them at my place of work. Two months later and still no new key fobs. When I went to register the car, the dealership didn't give me all the required documents needed to register it. Got the documents only to have the registry tell me they listed the wrong milage. They had less miles listed then listed on the previous title. Avoid the dealership as they will gladly take your money but service and such is a disgrace read more

Absolutely terrible. Stay away. Bought what seemed to be a very good, sound used car. It did not pass inspection. It had the brake pads on UPSIDE DOWN. It had a couple of other major issues. Car Five will only fix issues at their own service department. We have never encountered this level of incompetence by mechanics and the use of poor quality parts, AS WELL AS service manager unwilling to make it right. The car came out of there STILL NOT PASSING INSPECTION! There were broken parts, allegedly new, and parts put on backward. This place is a disaster. We have no trust that they can do this work and they will not pay for it to be done at a legitimate mechanic. Such horrible customer service. read more

Such a scam. Purchased a car from this dealer and it failed inspection twice and they refuse to refund and will not cancel the deal. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Such a dishonest business, I made the purchase deal with the manager and signed the purchase with another sales person, but when I went back for the second time after it failed second inspection neither the manager or the sales person was available they sent out a different sales person that I had never spoken with before. This has been the worst experience we have ever had purchasing a vehicle. We have purchased many cars in our lifetime and we have never experienced such poor customer service. We purchased a truck that was rejected during inspection for a safety issue. There was no communicarion from the dealership and we had to reach out multiple times. We we're stuck with a $275 tow and $200 deductible plus loss of wages due to the starter failing just a month after we bought the truck and then on top of that the dealership refused to help with any of the costs despite the lemon law in Massachusetts and still having a safety rejection. We will never purchase from this dealership again and do not recommend it to anyone. They sold us a truck that had not been gone through after we sat at the dealership for an entire day it still took a week to even pick the truck up again with no communication and it still received a rejection. I spoke with 2 sales people at Car Five regarding what I was looking for. I didn't want a vehicle with rust issues because I had dealt with that in the past. They assured me there was no rust issues with this truck, even went as far as taking videos of everything on the truck. I purchased the truck. A week later after some rain, these spots started appearing. I could see that they were rust spots trying to break through the paint. After looking some more on the underside, you could see that rust had been patched and painted obviously as a way to cover it up for the sale. The paint is now blistering all over the truck. I am beyond angry at how deceptive this place is. When I had reached out to the to voice my concerns a week after purchasing it, they basically told me I was out of luck. Spent 23k cash on a rust bucket. Dont make the same mistake as me. Do not trust these people at all as they will tell you anything just to make a sale. Also when I was looking at vehicles on the lot, there was other vehicles that had obviously been spray painted as the paint was still left on the mud flaps etc. Very deceptive and shady practices here. read more

Classic bait-and-switch scam artists. Two months ago I went up to look at a car that they told me was on the lot. I gave them my cell phone number to call me back, but I assured them I am leaving work and I am on the way. I drove an hour to get there only to find that it has "just been sold". I really didn't trust his story but I had no reason to think otherwise, so I left. Just today I searched for the same vehicle and up comes the same car... In the picture there are leaves on the trees and the sun shining. It is January 22nd. I looked at the posting date and it was a week ago. I called the dealer to ask what was going on and he began with some bullshit excuse that somebody else does his website. Stay away from this scum. If I could give zero Stars I would. read more
