CareNow - Urgent Care Near Me - Plano, Texas

I came here for chest x ray n it's over 2 n half hours that I had stay in this place. I called them In advance, checked in online, they called me back saying I can be in the clinic in half an hour. I arrived there in 20 mins n then I had to wait 30 mins for the nurse to call me.. I waited in the room for more than 40 mins before the doctor met me. I waited for 30 mins for the radiologist. Then all other process took the remaining time. I think if it's not gonna be quick these things need to be informed earlier. read more

My family and I recently moved to Plano from California where we had Kaiser insurance. My son woke up this morning with an obvious strep infection. I was worried about where to take to him since Kaisers don't operate in TX. I called and spoke to someone at Kaiser who stated that I can go to any urgent care and the cost would be covered 100%. I went in and spoke with Dominiqua, she was very patient and knowledgeable. My son was seen within 30 minutes of check in and we were out within an hour. Being away from our normal MD home, this urgent care made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. I hope to never need to, but I would definitely use this urgent care again. read more

I was thoroughly surprised with the service that I got from the associates at CareNow. I first called them to double check their hours and see how long the wait would me. The receptionist told me that I could do an online check-in and they would call me when the doctor would be ready to see me. Within 5 minutes of filling out the online forms, I received a call saying the wait would be 30-40 minutes and that I would get a call when it was 10 minutes prior. Roughly 40 minutes later (got to finish Dancing With the Stars, ha!), I got a call. Arrived at CareNow 10 minutes later. I had all my insurance paperwork already filled out online and within 3 minutes, I was called back to an exam room. Sweet! The nurse took my blood pressure, temperature, etc. and took initial notes about my condition. I sprained my ankle over the weekend and started having piercing pains all day Monday to the point where I couldn't walk and was hobbling around. Afterwards, I waited another 20-25 minutes before the doctor actually saw me. Eh, not good, but not bad...for a minor emergency care center. Each of the rooms have a flat screen TV showing movies, so I was entertained. The doctor was extremely nice and seemed to really care about my condition and was very patient with my neurotic questions. 20-25 minutes later, the radiologist took x-rays of my ankle. Another 20 minutes later, the doctor came back and gave me my diagnosis. I had a wonderful experience with all four associates I met with: the receptionist, the nurse, the radiologist, and the doctor. And the most surprising part was that they called me back today to check up on me and make sure I was okay. How thoughtful. :) Hopefully I'll never have to come back, but if I have another minor emergency, I'll know where to go. read more

The absolute worst experience with medical providers. Extreme pain in my shoulder and the Dr didn't even look at it, told me to go to an MRI place and they would call me with the results. MRI place has record of faxing to them on the 9th, and no one calls me, I call and they keep saying they don't have it. Guy who answers the phone is useless and left me on hold ringing to an invisible vm for 8 minutes, can barely understand him, called a 4th time and he tells me I'll have to call their corporate office, i explain the problem to the corporate office and get dropped into a vm. A week later and no one cares about a patient they gave 4 days of meds for pain and spasm and a week later no follow up while I still am suffering. They do not care about patients so I think they are in the wrong business. This place used to be good, had not been for awhile but it really has gone downhill. read more

I had a positive experience here compared to another time many years ago when I attempted to get an appointment, but was told to go home and wait for them to call. I never went, because I was too sick and couldn't drive myself back. I recently went in on a weekday afternoon. I was a walk-in, so I didn't make an appointment. The lobby had maybe one or two people, so the wait was fairly brief. I'll just break down the pros and cons since that's how I like to read reviews: PROS 1. My wait time was less than 15 minutes 2. The staff was friendly 3. There is a lot of seating 4. The nurse was friendly, and Dr. Hernandez was attentive, kind, and explained everything with lots of reassurance (even though I wasn't panicking and simply wanted to get it checked out in case it needed stitches) 5. I received information and was given the opportunity to ask any questions prior to leaving. So nothing about the actual care felt rushed. CONS 1. The TV was loud. Cartoons were playing, and I realize it's to pacify any children who might be visiting, but I personally have trouble with loud noises. Someone who's sick or has a headache might not want to be inundated with a television. Most places drown people out with tv volume and music, so this is just a personal nuisance. 2. I didn't see any masks on the counter, but maybe I just didn't notice them. Most places I go have them for those who have a cough or fever. The complaints are obviously minor. Lots of hand sanitizers all around. Had I gone during a busy time, it might have been a different experience getting seen quickly. I'd say it's a good place to go for non life or death medical care where you need to see someone quickly and can't fit in a same-day (or hour) appointment with your PCP. read more

Sooooooo slooooooow.... OMG!!! Come on!!! I had to visit this place twice over a weekend and even though I was the only person there, I had to wait 30 minutes in the front reception area, and was then left in the consultation room for 20 minutes before anyone came back, both times!!! I would never come here again. read more

My Dr's office was fully booked this past Friday afternoon so I had to go to CareNow for acute pain. They did not ask me what medicines I was taking before prescribing more medicines. They did not notice I had a fever of 99.6 until I told them I felt a chill. Came in 2:32 PM and left at 6:12 PM. Urgent care? This place should be called CareLater. A PA or NP will see you, not Dr. I did not feel I was in good hands. read more

Some people may not be a fan of this place, but I surely am. Sunday morning my sister needed to get to a doctor because her sinus' were acting up. The cool thing about this place is that you can call your appointment in. So if you dont like waiting in the waiting room. Here's what you do. Give them a call and they will schedule your appointment. No need to go up there until they call you back. With in a 10 minute window of when the doctor is available to see you, CARENOW will give you a call and say come now! They have fresh coffee in lobby.. Its super clean in the lobby area. read more

Needed to get my leg checked after I somehow kicked my desk while snoozing in my office. As mentioned before, don't even bother with the web check in, no time savings. When I arrived (6:45 pm on Sat night), they were fairly busy. But I was in an exam room by 7:10 pm. Ended up being another ER visit, but at least this time I drove myself. Great service and care by the doctor and nurses. read more

No customer care. I called in to double check they would have lab techs for pre job drug screening. I arrive with 4-5 other employees, only to find out the ONLY lab tech they had decided to leave and take the day off at 11:46 AM. What kind of management is running this place?? Super unprofessional. read more

Excellent service, this franchise operates a bit like European private clinics: prompt and affordable. For almost three years, Dr. Hernandez has been my primary care physician, treating me for some severe health problems; the help has been highly professional and much improved my health. Dr. Hernandez is definitely a 5-star physician, extremely knowledgeable (with valuable military experience, too), professional, insightful, and considerate; he also respects my anxious avoidance of X-rays and medication-dependency, while providing the best treatments and referrals. There are other advantages at this clinic: though often crowded, booking online makes it easier (checking in around the holidays and evenings are the best re. no-wait-time); the fees are above-average affordable, the staff is prompt and polite; some lab work is internal; and, above all, you can visit and get assistance as needed, avoiding those long-term-waiting schedules I saw are common at other U.S. medical facilities. I think Care Now clinics are now the best option for primary care physician assistance. read more

Disappointed we waited for more than two hours the doc Tyler is really rude and you got there feeling seek and in pain and he doesn't care he technically tell you to suck it up and take it like a man.. we will never go back there and we don't recommend this place.. they see us like a business only. CareNow - Urgent Care Near Me - Plano, Texas

Went in on a Friday evening for a flu and covid test. Flu test negative. Covid test sent off. Was told I would receive an email from Sensiva to create an account and see the results. On Tuesday I still had no email, so I called and was told by someone that the test was positive, then he hung up. On Wednesday, I called and explained to a lady that I still had not received an email, she acted as though she did not know what I was talking about. She transferred me to another woman who asked me yet again what the problem was. When I told her, she made a comment about me creating an account and I told her I had never received an email. She got mad and told me to quit yelling at her, took my email and told me to wait an hour, and hung up. I really liked the nurse and NP I saw when I went in but the front staff and phone staff are horrible to deal with. I would rather stay sick than have to call this place again. read more

I don't know why this place is still in business. From the web check-in to the sketchy treatment and poor follow-through, it's almost always a bad experience. Are usually try to avoid this clinic but my doctor is out of town and I have a small eye infection that she wanted me to go get checked. I thought this would be a safe choice particularly since I was going to register before ours in hopes of getting in quickly before they got so busy but the incompetent started causing them to fall apart at the seams. Obviously this doesn't work.. To start with, the web check-in was a nightmare to use. It took over 20 minutes before was able to process the information to confirmed that I was pre-checked. In the process I read corrected the information that they had failed to correct or written over again in the prior interactions by putting in my current telephone information. After waiting a few hours with no call back I called in to talk to the perky but obnoxiously incompetent receptionist. She informed me that notwithstanding the corrections in the past and today's correction to my telephone information they allegedly tried to call be disconnected and replace telephone number that has not been in service for several years. Note that I corrected this yet again when I did the web check-in. She then alleged that they attempted to call me after calling that obsolete number on my cell phone. I have not received a call. Apparently either they're not capable of dialing numbers or they make up stories because my cell phone maintains a record of all calls. I've experienced similar problems in the past where they claim that they have done something or failed to follow through. I've also had to have corrected care applied for prior interactions. This latest screwup sent me a message that this was not the place to go so I told the young woman that I would not be coming in based on the misinformation and incompetence but I would be notifying the Texas medical board. With the usual lack of concern for professionalism and appropriate conduct. The reception tell me OK that was great. So I am filing and I'm also going to file with the office of civil rights because they are unable to comply with their obligation to accurately and appropriately maintain records or have an operating system. My recommendation to people that need care on an urgent or interim basis: make another See the comment below But don't believe it. This is not the first time that this location has had communication and other problems and every time they promised go fix them but don't. There are so many alternatives today. If you need care choose a different one. read more

Best part is, Web check in, wait at home not the Care Now Doctor's Office, get your pre-exam, by a nurse, before seeing the Doctor. The Doctor listens to your problem and acts upon it, sometimes with Blood work to see if the problem really exists, meanwhile giving you a prescription, while you wait just one day for blood results, giving you a better decision on what to do, then acting upon it. I would rather go there instead of my untrustworthy Obamacare Doctor!!!! read more

I went in & explained my issue. They immediately told me they couldn't help me because they didn't have the equipment and referred me to the ER. Literally waited longer than someone saw me. They charged me over $200 for someone to take my vitals. They have the capability to count this as a ER transfer at no charge, but didn't and when I called just told me, well that's a visit. This visit was obviously not about care, but money. read more

Don't come to this facility. Waste of time. First of all I like to say that I came in for a drug screen test for a new job. I also did call to see if I needed to make an appointment and the receptionist said that I didn't need one. I was politely greeted by the receptionist asked to fill out forms, might I add to you no one let me know how long the wait was going to be until I walked up to the front and politely asked if I could be next. The receptionist said well we have three other people in front of you which that was the number of people that have already gone in to see the doctor. Two of which came in after me. There is a sign on the door that says "Patients maybe call out of order for visits that do not involve the doctor." Well my visit does not need a doctor, because it's just a drug screen test. But I like to point out that if I was told what the wait time was when I was filling out my paperwork I would not be so upset. Waiting over an hour to do a drug screen test is just ridiculous in my opinion. I like to add before I went up to complain the other assistant said to the other receptionist typically we like to drug screen test first, because they are so quick. You can get them in and out. (My thoughts exactly) read more

I went in and tested positive for the flu. Having 2 toddlers at home and an 87 year old grandmother visiting-I had specific questions about how long I would be contagious, how long germs stayed on surfaces and bedding, etc. The doctor seemed irritated that I wasn't happy with the canned "just wash your hands" responses and kept trying to walk out the door. read more

I came in to get tested for strep, mono, and the flu. These tests take less than 15 seconds each. And take around 5 minutes to get results. HORRIBLE! Came in at 1:10 pm with a child crying in pain and was told I had to wait an hour and a half before he could be seen. Immediately walked out and went elsewhere where they took care of us. Don't come here if you need urgent care. I'm writing this in a patient room at this moment. What made me upset was that we were told to wait behind someone that came in for a flu shot. I could not have been more satisfied with my visit. The web checkin in was seamless and amazing. I was checked in and quickly moved to a room where the nurse patiently wrote down all my symptoms. So Disappointed...have used this Care Now a few times over the years with no issuess-today I tried a half dozen times to use web check in and every time received "error 400"-I confirmed all information correct to no avail. Terrible! Do not go to this location. I went Sunday after having one of the worst earaches and sore throat I've ever had. I have been in pain since Friday and couldn't sleep because of the pain. I use Care Now as its so easy and the staff is so great and professional. I have my primary care physician but its tougher to get in to see him. I would give this place a 0 if I could...rude from start to finish. Dr tried to discredit my primary dr diagnosis the week prior and insisted that I go to ER in an ambulance for a condition that does not apply to me and for which he did no testing. Poor, poor medical care. Called me a liar when he insisted that I didn't know my own medical history. Used to like this place when Dr. Hays was med dir but my family and I will never go back. I've had to go to this location a few times over the last few years. The first time there were no issues. In and out with a flu diagnosis. Got my script for Tamiflu and was on my way. However the past 2 times I've been in I've had the same physician to see me which was Dr. Lam. The first time she said she just wasn't able to treat me for what a I had and sent made me go see a specialist. The second time, which was a recent visit, she was seemed very unconcerned, no bedside manner at all, barely made eye contact with me and the only thing she did to examine me was press's twice on my stomach. She never looked at my ears, throat, didn't listen to my chest. Nothing. She left the room and told me one thing and then came back and told me something else. She left again and said she'd be right back but a nurse returned instead with instructions that were not even what the doctor told me. The nurses were very nice and accommodating and seemed to have it more together than Dr. Lam. I've worked in healthcare all of my life and for a very large part of that in a doctor's office. I know how a good doctor when I see one. I only came to Care Now because my doctors office was closed. I went to see my doctor today and was taken care of properly and not made to feel like I was taking up their time because they had something better to do. We all have off days, and she may be a great doctor, but she really needs help on her bedside manner and how she communicates with patients. I will not by choice go back to this location again based off of this experience and honestly feel like my insurance company or I should have to pay for the visit. read more
