We wonder how things could have been if we did not find Care Quest last April. We are truly very grateful and beyond amazed at how helpful and compassionate Megan Molo was to our dire situation. We needed a care home so badly within the next 3 days and she immediately got to work. She was also sensitive and understanding of us after we told her that my brother-in-law was only 48 with a wife who also had cancer and has been his caregiver for the last several months and that they also have an 11 year old daughter. The family had an immense weight on their shoulders. It was on a Thursday when I found Care Quest. Another family member was also calling other places. We literally scrambled when we were informed by the hospice nurse that my brother-in-law with prostate cancer may only have 2 more days to live. We found out so late that his wish was to pass away somewhere else which would be much better for his family. Within the hour of my call with Megan, she gave us 2 places to visit. What a blessing when my sister-in-law liked one that was only a mile away and so my brother-in-law was moved the next day to the care home. The next morning, he passed away with his wish granted. I don't even remember who originally referred me to Care Quest - it was years ago right after my father was paralyzed from the chest down in a car accident (rear ended at a stop light), and our world had come crashing down on us. We were fortunate enough to not need to put him into a care facility immediately, but as my parents got older and my dad's care requirements increased, we always had Care Quest in our back pocket. Carequest was one of the placement agencies recommended to me as my 80+ year old friend D was approaching discharge from the hospital. I was very favorably impressed as Maegan spent almost one hour on the phone with me before even meeting D. She seemed genuinely interested in getting a comprehensive sense of the complex medical and psychological issues D was facing. Maegan communicated this warmth and compassion when she met D for the first time. Subsequently, she was indefatigable in helping with our search for a facility for D to move to. For example, every time she would email me some information she would follow up with a phone call. Once she even called on a Sunday morning! Given D's ongoing medical issues Maegan knew how to facilitate our finding an assisted living setting that could meet my friend's needs by coordinating with Hospice. Thanks to Maegan, D and I are optimistic that her new living situation will add a great deal to the quality of her life. If/when the time comes for me or a loved one to need such assistance in the future, I will call on Maegan because I know that we would be in very caring and competent hands. I honestly don't know how I would have navigated all of this without the help of Care Quest. I needed to find a great place for my mom that offered assisted living and also memory care for later on. I had only found one really great place in concord, but it was outrageously expensive. And I thought that was my only option. A friend referred me to Care Quest and I am so thankful for that. Brianna spent over an hour on the phone with me, asking all kinds of questions about my mom, to really get to know her and to be able to compile a list of the best possible options for her. What I didn't realize is when you go to visit all of these places, they won't give you pricing upfront to even know if they were are out of your price range. You have to go and do the walk-through and listen to their pitch before you even know the prices which can take a lot of time. Not only did Brianna gather a list of amazing places that were a good fit for my mom, she did all the leg work as far as getting pricing and the amenities for me, so I knew which ones I wanted to set up meetings with. After visiting three on her list, all of which were awesome, I decided on one for my mom in Pleasant Hill. I worried that she would not acclimate easily or because of her early alzheimers she would not find any friends. She's now lived there almost 2 months and she has never been happier. It has been years since she has been this vibrant and active and full of life. Brianna totally nailed it on finding places that were just a great fit for my mom. I honestly don't know how I would have done this without them and I feel bad for people that have to figure this out on their own because it is a lot and so many unknowns. I can't image how our family could have navigated the healthcare system for both parents with very different needs during COVID-19 without Juliane! My ninety year old mother recently spent two weeks in a skilled nursing facility. She was to be discharged on a Saturday. It was only three days before that she decided she could not go back to living alone.
