My impression has been that they are calm, attentive, and very mindful of how overwhelming home care decisions can be for families. They seem to take a thoughtful approach to each situation and focus on what will realistically help at home rather than offering quick solutions. He was very negative, could not articulate, could not pronounce my name after correcting him four (4) times, and basically said I was not a good fit for their company. Wow....it must be nice to say that after a 10-minute conversation with no details. Literally was handing him a certified caregiver, who needed to be onboarded with them ( a no-brainer for them), and he said that was not a good fit. What?!!! Are you serious? Having worked in healthcare for over 35 years, specifically with home health agencies, I am not new to this field at all. I know when a company does not have its patients' best interests at heart and is looking for the easy way out, or when it just has poor representation answering its phones, which is a huge red flag to move on and avoid future problems. Which is the case here. In summary, my first impression was unfortunate because the reviews I read were so positive. That just goes to show, you have to call and talk to them yourself and go with your gut before hiring anyone, especially someone to care for your most vulnerable family members. I will not be calling back and taking my business elsewhere. VETERANS BEWARE! This is not a company I would recommend to anyone.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Noopy provided care with incredible love and patience, treating our mother with the dignity and kindness she deserved. One of the greatest comforts was that Noopy is bilingual. Being able to communicate with our mother in Chinese was an absolute blessing; it eased our mother's anxiety and allowed for a connection that a non-Chinese speaker simply couldn't provide. Beyond caring for our mother, Noopy also provided immense support to the rest of the family. She was attentive to our needs, offered a comforting presence, and helped us navigate those final days with grace. We will never forget her compassion.

Every single individual that was on Aracelii ( RN and Case Manager) team was clear in their ability to explain processes, sensitive and compassionate when caring for my mother, highly aware and knowledgeable on the topic of pain management and the use of morphine, understanding of all types of issues when transitioning patients between levels of care and to and fro between inside operations and outside vendor/facilities. My mother faced a medical error and because of her reaction to not being given medication properly she faced an unimaginable situation that our family faced and needed help with. The facility she was housed at did not give the emergency care, nor did Sutter Home Health and ONLY when American Hospice stepped in did we uncover the problem. By then my mom had to face a traumatic experience. Without Aracelli's team and Hospice Spiritual Leader Mariah, my sister and I might of collapsed out of physical and emotional exhaustion. Right now I write I am grieving, I am forgetful of names, but I want give my thanks to all those who assisted my family maneuver the last weeks of my mothers life. There is one last note: After my mother left us, the young man who came to dress and prepare my mother for her last journey, was an angel. He made the process of washing and caring for my mother easier. He helped me hold her. This man, an LVN ( I believe) was not afraid of death. And, because of that we together were able to make my mother ready to see her 'maker'. God bless this young man for the job he does on a daily basis. This is a role no one thinks of and which is very very very important to family members who's culture includes preparing the body for heavenly transition. To conclude: Thank You To EVERYONE who CARED ENOUGH TO GIVE THEIR BEST TO OUR MOTHER IN HER LAST DAYS.

Very kind front desk staff. The cleaning staff is very good and the maintenace staff are also excellent, The Cons- 1-Rent will increase 7-8% every year to the day. 2-If you pay for showers, your parent may or may not get them, maybe 25-50% of the time. They seem understaffed and do not have a transparent way to keep track, report or let family know 3- the elderly must put their laundry into the hallway for pick up which is difficult given that the doors are very heavy and most residents use walkers and canes. 4- Do not rent and apartment on the 3rd floor unless your parent is able to use stairs, the elevator breaks at least once a year due to water issues and there is only 1 elevator to the 3rd floor so they are stuck up there until it is fixed which sometimes is weeks if they can't use the stairs. 5- Since the corporation of IVY park took over this facility, the most of the staff turns over every 1-2 months. you will not get to know a caregiver, they don't even attempt to introduce you to care givers. The management, nursing, and activity directors change about every 2 months so there is very little accountability. the only staff that has been constant is the waiters, the maintenance crew and the front desk. 6- their "fall and call button" is a one way system (no voice) so the elderly do not know if the call has been received and the response can take up to 2 hours or never, so if your parent is mildly cognitively impaired and does not carry or cannot use a cell phone, it is not a reliably safe system. Unfortunately they have not invested in a better and more updated system. Overall, it's very hard to find good care for the elderly and Ivy Park, despite the high cost is a mixed bag. I'm not sure that any other place is better, but just be aware of what you are getting into before you sign on the dotted line.

She & daddy were at a wonderful Board & Care, but when it was just Mom; I decided to move her to the East Bay. I found Karo Mina through a referral service and went to check it out. The son, Fady, was there. He put on a really good show. I told him that there were some things that were very important, when it came to Mom's care. He assured me that they would take great care of her. I met the caregiver, Cheyenne, while she was doing meal prep. She was a really nice young lady and a great cook. While she was there, caring for Mom; my Mother was kept clean, dry and well fed. But then Mona fired her. Then hired another helper and after screaming at her over the phone, (which I heard); she fired her. Then another person was hired & fired. After that, Mona decided that she and her son Fady; could do it by themselves. As there was ONLY 1 PERSON, OTHER THAN MY MOTHER, to care for. Mona began to complain about my mother's weight and that it was difficult to change her. I asked if I should look for a new place and she said that she could handle it. Well, my fiance and I went to visit one night and I guess it was around 5 minutes after visiting hours; which they never told me about. I rang the door bell and we could hear 2 very loud dogs, barking and running around inside. She complained that it was after-hours and I asked could we just visit Mom for a couple of minutes. After letting us in, is when I saw the true Mona. She was very bitter and angry, as she overheard me tell my fiance that Mom was extremely frightened, as the uncontrollable dogs ran into Mom's room, barking loudly and running around, jumping on us! Mom 's room was pitch black, no music, no TV and she was crying. I closed the door, so that we could visit and help to calm Mom. She is in her 10th year of Dementia, can only speak a few words and is 100% Bed Ridden. She is very vulnerable. Mona bursted into the room, screaming about how she had the right to have dogs and that the lights were out bc Mom was trying to sleep. She flailed her arms around and as she was screaming, headed for me angrily. Thank goodness my fiance was there, and he stepped in between us, putting his arms up and asking Mona to please calm down and to let us visit in peace. Mona then started screaming: 'I want you all out of here! Get out and I want your mother out of here. I am giving you 30 days notice to GET OUT"!! My mother was there from Nov 7, 2021 until Jan 23, 2022. She is just beginning to recover. She shook when anyone tried to touch her and cried all the time. She was so frightened. She had been left in dirty diapers and a dirty gown, from the day or two before; when the medics transported her. I know that Mom was abused, but I can't prove it; as Mom cannot tell us. But I know. PLEASE, STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. FADY IS VINDICTIVE, MEAN, SCARY AND I AM AFRAID OF HIM. (The one person who is left there is afraid of both Mona and Fady. I wish that I could have warned James' family before we left). Mom is slowly recovering and is being well cared for, in a different place.

We detailed everything about my Mom. Despite this, Imagine sent caregivers who I feel, observed, and been informed by some of the caregivers that they have more experience providing companionship. That is NOT what my mother needed. Mom needed a caregiver that had qualifications, experience, knowledge, and demeanor to care for her. One example is when an Imagine caregiver was rubbing Vicks on my Mom for days. We had instructed this caregiver to rub Aloe Vera oil. When this caregiver left for her weekend, another caregiver and I was undressing my Mom for bed. My mom's skin all over her body was flaky due to the Vicks being rubbed on her. When I touched my mom's skin, the flakes would fall off. I was very upset. I asked this caregiver why she rubbed Vick's on my Mom. She responded that my Mom asked for it. I replied that Mom has dementia and does not know any better; and we instructed her to use Aloe Vera oil. I said the menthol in Vicks is too strong for my Mom's skin. I did NOT want her to come back. I emailed the Agency. I also have witnesses. In addition, we had a woman who cleaned our house once a week. She witnessed this same caregiver using Vicks yell at my Mom. The housekeeper told this caregiver she should not yell at Mom. I have other emails that I sent Imagine regarding what I feel are negligence by their caregivers. The most recent was Imagine sending a caregiver who has high blood pressure and asthma. We know this because this caregiver informed us in addition to hearing her wheezing all the time. Why would Imagine send a caregiver who has these issues to care for my Mom with behavior issues due to dementia??? Doesn't make sense to me. After that last caregiver, I quit using the Agency.

It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises.
