My name is Adam. This review starts at 5pm on Tuesday afternoon, same day my CX50 battery dies!! In December 2023, I leased a CX90 Hybrid PHEV in the Artisan Red color. While this was a nice vehicle, it did not suit my purposes well because there's no where for me to charge the 26-mile range battery in my apartment complex. If you have the PHEV CX90 and can plug it in at home in a garage, this will be a good vehicle. If you can't charge it, it feels like you're driving half a vehicle with the 2.5L engine and hybrid setup. I was able to pay my lease off, and I was fully prepared to walk away after paying the early termination fee of $650, not sure if this is the normal so check your contract! Also, the CX90 PHEV that I was turning in needed 2k worth of new tires (wearing Falkan Tires) after only 7100 miles and had a cracked windshield because I wasn't careful enough while changing wiper blades earlier this year. Nothing in my contracts extra services paid for any of this, so I was looking at $3700 plus in walking fees to just be done with the lease. I wasn't interested in keeping the vehicle as I just wanted out.
I reached out to Cardinaleway Mazda through the messenger on their website and got in touch with Ana. I told Ana what was going on, what my plans were, and asked to see ALL of my options. I was hoping to just turn in the car. The person that I usually buy from and refer people to wasn't there anymore, but more on that later. Ana laid it all out for me. Trims, prices, monthly payments, and even kept in the extra stuff I wanted from the lease contract in the quotes. I still have not physically met Ana to this day; all was done over text messaging on phones. I wasn't sure what to do at this point.
I started looking through the Cardinaleway Mazda website and FOUND Joshua was still working there or had returned. This is a BIG DEAL for me. I've only bought, leased or serviced through Joshua. I made an appointment for 5pm and got up to see Joshua and let Cardinaleway take a look at the lease return. It helps to be honest about your car's condition here; they'll help you as long as you're honest. Joshua had the 3.3 Turbo version of the CX90 fueled, ready for a test drive when I got there. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I wanted to drive the turbo gas version to see IF MAYBE I wanted to just let go of the hybrid CX90 and see what incentives and rebates could help me with down payment, lower price, etc. I drove this gas CX90 longer than most test drives I've been on; I liked it that much already. We get back to the dealership, Joshua shows me the numbers, with rebates, incentives, loyalty retainer money. To put it short, Mazda gave me $6700 worth of money to put towards the vehicle. I got the Artisan Red CX90 Premium Plus S Turbo 3.3L gas version. This thing looks and feels like a Mercedes or Lexus vehicle and it's fast as hell. Wait, we're not done yet.. I didn't leave until 11:30pm that same night.
I didn't even have to come out of pocket for the early termination fee, or wear and tear on the PHEV CX90 trade. Cardinalway Mazda took care of all of it. I got to start fresh and got EVERYTHING I wanted in my CX90.
My mother came by to say hello to Joshua, as she bought her car through him as well a few years back. We were curious about incentives on any CX50s, and Joshua had a few available. My mom picked up her CX50 in late 2023, and she loved her car, but not her interest rate. I've tried to help her refinance a few times over the last 3 years, to no avail. Long story short, Joshua told her about the new CX50 Meridian Turbo Premium Plus with an orange interior that she loved, and after driving it, she had to have it. This particular vehicle didn't even have time to make it onto the Cardinalway website for all to see. America First Credit Union gave us a better interest rate than what we had before on the new CX50 Meridian, and Mazda gave us $3500 in rebates and incentives, loyalty bonuses to help with negative equity, and gave us 29k for the trade and we owed about 33. Truthfully, mom got a BETTER car with MORE features (fully loaded) and even with extras in the finance department, her payment was the SAME. Joshua sold 1.5 cars Tuesday afternoon and Ana whom I've never actually met in person, got 50% of my CX90 sale which is fair because she was helping me before I realized that Joshua was back and I was there on Ana's day off. I hope to meet Ana during my next visit though. If you pay your bills, and have even decent credit, Mazda can help you at Cardinaleway Mazda.
Rambo in the finance department was awesome as well. This guy knows his stuff. For both vehicles, we got hooked up with great combo extras, a 5 in 1 package, and no payments for 90 days through America First Credit Union. I tried to get to Cardinaleway in a timely manner because they close at 8 or 9, but again, we were there until almost 12am. Joshua KNOWS that when WE show UP, we like to buy vehicles late at night LOL. read more
