Don't use them. Quoted me $900, no phone call about additional work and then told me that the car is ready and the price is $1700.

We purchased a car from Brothers Auto Sales and gave them $2500 out of $3000 for a deposit, with…read morethe remainder contingent on them repairing the back door that wouldn't open. They gave us the car, despite not receiving the full deposit, although the rest of the price was guaranteed through financing. The car broke down within 24 hours. We contacted them about the possibility of either canceling the loan (we were told we could) or exchanging the car for another (yes we could), but were told we would have to wait until the owner returned from overseas in a week because no one else could handle the issue and his wife - also an owner - does not speak English very well. They took it, repaired it and said it was ready, however, would not give it to me until they received the remaining $500. I asked why they gave us the car in the first place despite not receiving the entire deposit. All I got was some claim to not understand. Yet they wouldn't give me my car. They only took the car hostage when it broke down after owning it for 12 hours and they were concerned we would back out of the deal and be stuck with a malfunctioning vehicle (they probably hoped we'd have it longer before it broke down). No one would come forward to handle the issue unless they were given the $500, claiming they didn't understand English, or we had said that we didn't want the car anymore and that no one could do anything until the owner returned in a week. I understand their argument that the $3K is technically separate from the broken door, although there was an oral agreement to fix it. My ex-husband was the one who unilaterally decided to withhold the $500. However, they had $2,500 in cash and signed a contract for them to receive the remainder from the bank, therefore they were guaranteed to have 95% of the value. Furthermore, I questioned why they didn't present the $500 as an issue when they handed the car over initially, only demanding the money when they knew the car was a lemon. Most businesses would have a little more good will towards a customer so I - and my two kids - wouldn't be without a car. All I got was dumb looks and excuses that they didn't know what was going on, although I think they understood their motives perfectly. A business that does transactions with English-speaking customers should have people available to handle the matter at all times, not claim ignorance of the language to perform bad business transactions.

Have bought a lot of cars in my day, and know enough about them to instantly detect the typical car sales guy tactics... Sam is the exact opposite of that stereotype. Both my truck (F150) and my daughters car (Rav4) were honestly represented and clean!! He treated us with respect and was patient with my daughter as she decided on her first car. I can say would definitely buy from Like New again.

I don't often write reviews but my experience with Sam and Like New Auto Sales warrants it. I would strongly recommend Like New Auto Sales to anyone looking to buy a used car. Working with Sam has been fantastic both around my initial purchase and an unexpected follow-up. I've purchased several used cars in the past - typically just off of a lease - and working with Sam has easily been the best experience I've had. Read on if you want the full story! My initial purchase: Had a vehicle in mind that was listed online, but had sold the night before. Described to Sam what I was looking for and he gave me some other options that he had on the lot. Answered any questions that I had and largely let me look around. One vehicle was a recent acquisition for him and he noted some repairs that would be made before being sold. Sam never once pushed me or pressured me to buy anything - a very different experience than I've ever had. He provided lots of good information and some recommendations based on what I was looking for. Ultimately I found a truck that I liked, test drove it and moved on to purchasing it. Sam looked at financing options for me but was very candid that I would likely be able to get a better interest rate through my own bank - again reinforcing that he wants to do what is best for his customers. I ended up securing financing through another source and we set a sales date a few days later - a note to all: put a deposit down if you want the vehicle! When I came back to pickup the truck Sam had run through a final check with his mechanic and replaced a few items that they felt needed to be done - not something I had requested - we're noticing a trend here about taking care of the customer. Given the age of the vehicle it was purchased "As-Is" which wasn't a concern given the condition of the truck. Unexpected Follow-up: Drove it home and 2 days later it won't start! Got it towed to a repair shop down the street (I'm about 15 miles from Like New so it wasn't the immediate thought). Local repair shop tells me it's the starter but because of the vehicle and where the starter is its going to be nearly $500 in parts and $1,000 in labor. I'm not even remotely savvy about cars and trucks but this seems insane to me. I call Sam and explain what happened, what the repair shop told me and ask for his recommendation. He is clearly aghast at the estimate they've given me and says if I can get the truck up to his shop he will take care of it. I was able to get it towed through my car insurance's roadside assistance program but if not I feel like Sam would have personally come down and tapped the starter with a hammer to get it going if nothing else was an option. He replaced the starter quickly and at his expense.

When we saw online that they had a used Audi A3 diesel, my husband was excited because he's always liked those. We checked it out on a Sunday when the dealership was closed and could see it was very nice. Based on the Carfax report, it had also been well maintained. He contacted the dealer the next week and we made an appointment to test drive the car. Our sales rep was very nice and low pressure. We drove the car and liked it but had a set price in mind that they couldn't quite meet at the time, so we parted as friends and left it at that. A couple of days later, we got a call and they were able to get closer to our price and it seemed reasonable, so we went ahead and said "let's buy it". We were able to do most everything remotely, so we signed the purchase contract and sent the payment all via the internet. The only thing left to do was to pick up the car and sign the paperwork to get the registration/title paperwork done. It was fast and easy! I'm not sure how fast but I know that I didn't get to the train station in Brewster until 5:35 and then we drove to Danbury and signed the papers and were driving off in the car by 6:01, so that was pretty fast. Loved that there was no pressure for add-ons or being trapped in the room with some finance guy. Really a pleasant experience. The staff at the dealership was nice and they always have very interesting cars (I would have loved the BMW convertible but that was out of our price range!). We recommend Weeks Pre-Owned.
