What a delicious bbq spot! My boyfriend and I are staying at the connected hotel across the street! We smelled and saw the smoker then we checked-in, and new we had to dine here! Today was the day! We stopped in for dinner. The smell was incredible. We had pulled pork nachos, smoked wings and smoked brisket sandwich. All was amazing! The nachos were so tasty and had a generous amount of pork throughout. Wings were absolutely amazing. I need smoked wings in my life at least once a week. Smoked brisket sandwich was amazing as well!! So many flavors all married together...yummyness in each and every bite. The sandwich also came with fries that were also delicious! Boneyard BBQ at Sylvan Beach took over the former Cinderella's they have done some remodeling and have taken out the ice cream stand and made bar much bigger. We were wanting BBQ and had thought this was another location of the Boneyard in Utica which closed and it was a beautiful day in upstate NY. So, we decided to take a ride up to Sylvan Beach. The waitress told us this location was a franchise and while menu looked similar items to me they were not as good. The ribs tasted the same but pulled pork sandwich to me was not that good. Sandwich was on a different style bun but what made it disappointing was the amount of BBQ sauce on sandwich it was so over powering you did not taste the smoke flavor and bread on bottom was soggy and hard and mess to eat. Not many people were in here put the food in service was great. The atmosphere was a little dingy, but as I said, the food was amazing. The poutine fries, hamburger ( cooked as ordered) , and grilled cheese were big portions and tasted great. read more

Very polite staff, good drink options at the full bar. Very good choice of menu options. I got the pulled pork sandwich and everything wings both great. The fries were great too and the owner made a custom Mac salad for me that was great as well! Now having a brunch on Sunday's which looks amazing and will definitely try. Will return soon! read more

Let me start on saying they were out of everything that looked fantastic on the menu. BUT... big but, we ended up just getting drinks and ordering the Nachos. Service was on spot. Nachos were excellent. Bathroom was clean. I don't usually comment about a bathroom but again, another but , if their bathroom is bad usually the kitchen looks the same. So it's a nice thought thinking that the kitchen was clean as well. I am torn on recommendation for this place. It's more like "when I'm Rome". Not too bad. I would like to try it again and hopefully everything on the menu can be an option. read more

We've been here a few times over the last few months but the food has changed and isn't worth the $$$. The cracklin is very bland, the fries were cold, the brisket was full of fat and very oily, the mac n cheese was gross, and our beer was expired by 6 months. It was very disappointing because the food used to be very good here. read more

We drove by on our way to visit someone and decided to stop in for takeout for our family on our way home. The smell of the smoker was amazing! We stopped a few hours later, 6:00 pm or so. As we walked in there was a aisle sign at the entrance for the Saturday night special, brisket on hogie roll with one side for $11.99. We ordered 4 specials, three with a side of macaroni and cheese and one with a side of corn bread. We ordered a extra side of macaroni and cheese. Our order was to go. The food came out rather quickly which was nice. I went to pay, the total was $68.24. On the way to the car, it seemed the bill was high as we looked again at the easel at the door for the $11.99 promotion. Checked the receipt. We were charged $14.99 for each meal. My husband brought the receipt in thinking it would be a easy fix. The woman at the register told him the posted price for $11.99 was "wrong". Told him she will not refund the $9.00 (plus tax). She needed to fix the sign instead. She then made comments about her personal issues and said her something about a foggy brain that day. She told my husband that she would refund our bill if we returned the food. The pic is the brisket sandwich we paid $14.95 for. I apologize I did not take a pic of the side that was in a small styrofoam container. The meals were opened at home to reveal two slices of dried out brisket. The mac and cheese I swear was Stouffer's from the freezer isle. To give the benefit of doubt, we were not told it was homemade. Cornbread was dry, 2 out of 10. As we drove away, she was outside erasing the sign. TLDR: Poor service, overcharged for a crappy meal and provided lame excuses. Save your money and ignore the signage. read more

Grabbed lunch at Boneyard BBQ today. A bit pricey for my bacon cheddar pulled chicken sandwich but what I got was huge! Half in the fridge for later! The BBQ chicken was very good, moist and tender. The sandwich is a Thursday special and is comes smothered with bacon and cheese as well. Will definitely be back to try other things! The owner was at the store and said the BBQ is a partnership with the Boneyard BBQ in Utica and will be open year round. He's opening up Cinderella's this weekend as Carbone's Beachside for lunch and dinner. He also said he ordered 500 turkey legs to smoke for Pirate Weekend (July 19-21, 2019) so if you are doing the grog crawl on Friday night, you might want to crawl on in! In case you aren't sure where this is, The Boneyard BBQ is located across the street from the old Cinderella's in the old grocery store that was more recently Tillie's location. They don't have a liquor license yet but expect to soon. read more

I had been wanting to come here and it was open. The food was very good I had the ribs and chicken platter with cornbread and Mac and cheese. The meat was fantastic the cornbread was a hit to. Wasn't thrilled about the Mac n cheese didn't taste homemade. My husband had fish fry with fries and coleslaw he said the fish was great and liked the fries he isn't a fan of coleslaw but I am it was salty never in my life have I had salty coleslaw. Overall it was good and the prices were reasonable mine was 19.95 his was 11.95. Will come back. read more

We rode our bikes right up to the outside tables for lunch 2wks ago. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. I wanted a light meal with some cornbread. I ordered pulled pork sliders of which I ate just the meat w cornbread and raspberry iced tea. Wow, delicious! And no blubbery or gristly bits. My BF got the brisket which he also found delicious. It was a perfect lunch for a day of sun, water, bicycling. Oneida Lake is large and beautiful. The coronavirus seating and service are all in place. I'd love to go back. read more

Do NOT bother to go for "Brunch" I've seen the reviews of lunch and dinner with their smoked foods but, Brunch was a JOKE. Three of us went in on Sunday, 3 brunch's one Bloody Mary 1 soda,,,,,,, Are you kidding me, $80.00 freaking dollars. The buffet consisted of scrambled eggs, Danish pastries, (tiny) Brown and serve sausage, real bacon, cold old frozen bagged home fries, french toast and waffles in the size of 2in (two left) There was something hidden at the end but, no one bothered to tell us there was some turkey and ham there. but, it wouldnt of mattered. Joke and we will now not even go try lunch or dinner. WHO in the world pays $80 + for freaking eggs and brown and serve meat? Our waitress was a delight , Dark haired girl with cat eye nail polish. Everything was very good. The ribs were so tender and the coleslaw and cornbread were delicious and generous, not loaded with sugar as they usually are. My only gripe is that just 4 ribs was considered a half rack. That's one small pig. I asked if they did quarter racks and was told no. But that's what I got, yet paid for a half rack. OK. Everything in Sylvan Beach is pricy. The server made my daughter's lemonade from scratch and she loved the mac and cheese. I'll go back for sure when I'm feeling flush. read more

Standard fare at the Beach. Smaller portion than expected for the 11 for 11.99 but decent overall. Unlimited salad bar is good too (had all you can eat craw fish). Try the dessert special - carrot cake with brown butter bourbon ice cream drizzled with caramel...it was delish!! read more

Went to Sylvan Beach Bone Yard Friday night. I consider myself somewhat of an expert on BBQ. I have a Weber Smokey mountain that I use regularly. MY son lives in St Louis one of the Bbq centers of the US. I have eaten at PAPPY 's BOUGARDS, MIKE MILLS AND SUGAR FIRE BBQ. Your Bbq Friday night was OUTSTANDING. FALL OFF THE BONE RIBS, CHICKEN FALL OFF THE BONE AND BRISKET SUPER MOIST. I ALSO HAD AN APPETIZER OF RIB ENDS. The two girls that waited on us 8/21 were excellent. Went for brunch on Sunday was seated and waited 35 mins to even order. Then it took another 45 mins til we received our food which was missing home fries and were told they would be right out. Food was barely Luke warm. It was an all u can eat brunch so we signaled to order something else hoping they would bring home fries this time and was them told by the server they were out of everything. How can u have an all u can eat brunch and be out of almost everything. After almost 2 hrs we just asked for the check and left. Won't be back. read more

We visited Sylvan Beach in the middle of September, after the busy summer season ended. We decided to try Boneyard BBQ for dinner. It was not too busy when we got there. The waitress, Lydia was her name I believe, told us to seat ourselves. She took our drink, appetizer and dinners orders. After delivering our drinks and appetizer, we never saw her again for the rest of the night. A food runner quickly dropped off our dinners and fled before I could tell him I never got one of my two sides (mac and cheese). We figured the waitress, or at least another employee, would ask us how our meals were within a couple minutes of dropping off the food so that I could ask about my Mac and cheese. NOPE! It was not until a half hour later another employee came over asking if we wanted our plates cleared. I told him I never got my side of Mac and cheese and my boyfriend told him our waitress had not come by the table in over a half hour. She never asked if we wanted more drinks... nothing! When we saw her walking around the dining room she did not appear to be hustling or swamped. She was just inattentive. The food was decent but we will never go back. Poor service is inexcusable. read more
