Lauren the owner only pays attention to the kids whose families have been with her for years . Those are the kids that she develops and works with . She allows bullying at the studio and on the team and never addresses it directly unless it starts to impact her bottom line . She humiliates the kids on the team if they miss a step in front of peers and makes it seem they were disrespectful when they respond . You pay a large amount of money for your kids to be on her competition team for your child not to be developed or trained properly. I know this now because we have moved to another competitive team and now I see what real development is . Beware of this studio !

I cancelled my membership (which was on hold for a few months) due to medical reasons and the membership had continued to show active... The crazy thing about this is, you can't cancel your membership if it's on hold the only thing you can do, is make it active, then cancel it. The issue with this is, like me, once you make it active, they charge you in full for another month, I would suggest: 1. You put in a tech enhancement to allow customers to make a cancellation from a hold... 2. Put the information upfront where it's clear during your on hold flow, that if you decided to cancel later on, you will be charged for the following month... And let's not forget, you guys sent me an email saying I would be charged for $1.87, then sent another email 3 days later saying, I would be charged $50.57 for something I have not and cannot use... you guessed it, they charged me 6/2 for $52.44. I sent you my medical information (which is beyond me over a month ago) that outlines I cannot workout, and I'm stillllll waiting for you to confirm that I won't be charged. Performance dates get moved around with little notification (to the point where we saw one student show up in a leotard to an evening music recital when her dance performance was a week away - students had been told at least three different dates by the time it actually happened), classes get merged to different school sites with less than a week's notification, and classes get cancelled with 24 hours notification. If your family has a stay-at-home parent who is able to completely adjust their schedule at a moment's notice, this is a great program. If it's difficult to adjust to picking up your kids an hour earlier than normal and transporting them to a location 10 minutes away with only a day's notification that you will need to do that... well, this might not be the best bet for you. And I'm not holding my breath that I'll either see a costume or get my money back for that costume fee I paid eight months ago either.

It is ADA accessible and there were two ADA parking spots in the back of building. Floors, mirrors, bathroom and equipment all kept very near and tidy. I started working out at Lift two months ago, and I absolutely love it…read more The workouts are effective and efficient, and, if you're a nerd like me, it's interesting to hear Dirk and Chenell talk about how the movements strengthen different muscle groups. They're always nearby to make sure my form is correct, and they never lose patience when I ask them to remind me how to do certain moves. Speaking of supervision, I went to Lift today for the first time in about a week and a half, and I told Chenell that I've been experiencing some pain in my left shoulder. She sent Dirk outside to talk to me about it, and after I described my symptoms, he re-wrote part of my workout and continued to check in to make sure I wasn't in any pain. I felt super safe and respected, and there was ZERO pressure for me to push through any discomfort. Hiiiighly recommend this place!

I've heard him say verbatim to a woman next to me, " that's because you're stupid". Another time " yeah, you're an idiot". He's demeaned me many times. I just accepted it as part of The Lift Silverlake Experience. One day I came in and said "nice new shirt and it looks fancy and you look nice.. which he replied to me "what about you? You look like you just rolled out of bed and put on dirty clothes". Which is hilarious because I was fresh out of the shower with fresh clean clothes.. I always showered before my workout because Dirk likes to make fun of people who smell. I was giving him a compliment but he doesn't know how to take it, so he spews hate. After that interaction he banned me from his paid social club. I said nothing except what I mentioned above and when questioned why I was banned, they simply said they didn't want to talk about it. I attached Dirk's email banning me so you can see that obviously I was a very good client and they never had issues in the past. I was never late. I never missed a session. I never acted inappropriately ever.. I spent over $6,000 dollars training with them. Dirk is a very troubled person and I hope he finds help for his mental issues. I wish everyone at Lift Silverlake the best and it would be a beautiful place without Dirk there with all his hate and spite. God bless and always sending prayers for peace, comfort and grace.
