I have known Jessa (salon owner) for over 10+ years. She started doing my hair in the kitchen of her apartment. I've never looked at another hairdresser. She is amazing and that's why more than 75% of her clients followed her to Hampton from Virginia Beach (myself included). She used to be located at Landstown Commons. After all these years of her doing my hair, she's more like family than my hairdresser. She is great at figuring out what your hair needs quicker than you. Saw Katie at Cara Mia on a surprisingly slow Saturday and I am so happy with the service and how my hair turned out! I had 7 years worth of virgin hair growth so it was time for a change. I wanted a face framing cut and caramel balayage and it turned out exactly how I wanted. I have been going to Cara Mia Salon since 2017. I remember my first visit my hair was a mess but a friend suggested I go to see Jessa. I haven't been able to find a hair stylist who could do my hair the way I loved it. When I had my first appointment I feel in love with everything. I have been coming to Jessa, the owner and head stylist, since she was working at super clips as well as in her home! She then moved to another owned hair salon before branching out on her own. Even before Jessa opened the doors I had been in contact with her because she had been recommended by a friend of mine.... Jessa never skipped a beat even in the midst of all she had going on ... even if I had never sat in her chair... she replied to all my questions and concerns about my hair... and today I finally was able to go in and get my hair done !!!!!! My fault for waiting so long ... but I love the way she cut my hair ( curls can be quite tricky). Responding to their update because it is SO far from the truth; it is actually insane. Not ONCE did my stylist say that my hair is a different texture/density, etc. She literally asked me what I wanted; I showed her the picture, asked how short I wanted it, and I showed her. Then she washed my hair, sat me down, and started cutting. I CANNOT believe how much BS that claim is. My boyfriend was sat right next to me, and he can vouch that she never said anything they're claiming. On top of that, during my haircut, my stylist said, "I have to redo your layers because I cut your hair shorter," and my bf looked at me to see my reaction when she said that. I KNOW she never said anything they are claiming because obviously, I wouldn't have had such a horrible experience. In addition, I have gotten that same haircut for the past TWO years from another salon, so I KNOW my hair is capable. So different texture/density, etc., is complete BS. This is so disappointing, lmao. And of course, I had to say it was good bc I wanted to get the hell out of there to cry about my haircut being too short because at that point, there was nothing she could do to fix it. I cannot believe how much y'all are lying to get away with such an awful haircut. NEVER go to this salon. read more

Mackenzie is awesome with my red hair which is super hard to maintain (iykyk) and she does it flawlessly! So, I scheduled an appointment for consultation at Cara Mia, had never been before. I woke up the day of appointment and was very ill, to the point I had to go to the ER. And it takes a lot for me to go, as Im an RN of 20 yrs. I called Cara Mia first thing that morning and left a message that i was ill and wouldn't make it. Nobody called me. I get a 'text' at 3:00 saying I missed my apt and would by charged. I explained the situation, offered to provide medical documents. They basically said nope, too bad. They did not offer to reschedule and use that money towards next apt. So basically just got robbed $125.00. For NOTHING. As a person who has been in office management for over 20 yrs, I have to say this is TERRIBLE management! I will make sure I worn everyone I know about this shady business!!! read more

I came to Jessa with yellow hair... not kidding yellow straw colored hair. An she worked pure magic on my hair. I was previously going to Rudy and Kelly beauty school (they are awesome), but as I was learning to take care of blonde from students it just wasn't a good match at the time. I can not emphasize how much she has taught me about my hair and helped boost my confidence. She actually listens and gives her honest opinion.
