By the time I left, however, over 2 years worth of growth and expensive products (for 3C curly hair) were completely ruined with this hair cut. Instead of losing one inch across all of my hair, I lost one inch on the bottom layer and anywhere between 2-4 inches on the above layers. The thing is, I absolutely DID NOT ask for layers. To make matters worse, the handling of my situation was completely unprofessional. Here's the story: As the process of trimming my hair started, the stylist was cutting my hair in a way I had never seen before. I later found out the technique she was using was a technique for layering hair, which again, is something for which I never asked. At this time my hair was completely combed out, so I did not see the results in my natural curl pattern until I showered the next morning. I then found that I was given uneven, unmeshed, choppy layers. Even then, this technique was not applied evenly throughout all of my hair. I called and spoke with the woman who cut my hair, who insisted she did not give me layers. I told her she did, and I made it known I was extremely unhappy. Now if someone leaves your salon dissatisfied with the way you cut/styled her hair, I can understand being offended. What I cannot understand is not taking ownership of the mistake you made and instead getting defensive over your work. I came in to the salon so she could see what I was talking about. She saw the layers, and then asked several times about my previous hair length, insisting I must have had layers prior to coming in. Each time I said no and that I had picture proof my hair was all one length before I stepped through the door. Still, in an attempt to stand her ground, she lifted my hair above my head in an effort to show me my hair was all the same length. She seemed to purposefully miss my point, because I told her numerous times I did not care what the length was above my head; I cared what it was in the way my hair naturally falls. There was no resolution. The room was too tense, and I was tired of arguing. As the customer, I should not have had to deal with any of that, especially since I'm the one who has to walk away with ruined hair. I now have to wait over another year to get back what was so carelessly taken from me. As I left, this stylist said she was sorry "I wasn't happy." I was given an apology for my feelings, but not an apology for her mistake. The next day, however, I did receive a call, and she did apologize and offer me a free service to make up for things. No thank you.

On wedding day, as soon as I walked in I already felt comfortable with Karen's styling abilities and she kept me calm while creating the most gorgeous hairstyle for my special day. Since our first visit three years ago was great, we decided to try them again. We were delighted that this facility was still providing quality service and adherence to CDC guidelines. All four of us were serviced together and all tools used for the pedicure were new and opened in our presence. The foot baths were freshly prepped in our presence to include fresh tub liners for each foot bath. Clinicians all wore face mask and gloves. We watched them dispose of the instruments used for each pedicure and the re-cleaning of the stations which included the entire pedicure chair. A little girl of one of the employees was going around to the customers talking and she kept asking her mom for things while she was giving a manicure. One of the male employees had his phone on speakerphone scrolling through many websites/apps and going from song to song in his native language for everyone to hear. The shop was messy. I didn't feel my manicure was very good either - polish didn't last more than 3 days when on a trip.

With that type of customer service over the phone, I wouldn't even bother seeing how it would be like dealing with her in person. I rarely publish reviews but felt compelled to write one to help out other consumers who are contemplating whether to try this place out or not. I don't think this person should be in business if you don't know how to help customers. What makes certain businesses last longer than others is when they can provide an overall positive experience from start to end. You really should reassess if you're in the right service industry given its health/wellness-related. I support small facial salons because they tend to be more passionate about what they do and it shows in how they talk about their services. I've been getting facials all over as I travel on vacation almost every month and typically not the same place and I always get a facial or massage in places I've never been to as I like to come home relaxed - after all that's why people go on vacation. I'm not sure why this individual would feel the need to dictate what I do on my time and where I should go for my facial. I simply was asking what the difference was between the clarifying facial vs the pure results facial, what product you use and if you included extractions. The fact that you said: I'm not at the shop to remember my products" is concerning given how much experience you claim to have and how you say you customize it according to the individual. You couldn't even name one brand! I ask because I prefer organic products and because you couldn't tell me what product you use then what makes you think I would've booked with you to even reject me? My comment was that unlike massages where its likely can't rare to cause any permanent damage in comparison to facials. We only have one face and if someone messes it up due to the product they use or being too hard when doing extractions; this can be irreversible. I explained this was why I was asking questions so I can feel comfortable and understand what your services entail and what product you used, but I never accused you nor directed that towards you or ever questioned your experience. I was surprised she reacted the way she did. The fact that you are being defensive again and turning this around on me speaks the kind of person you are. If you read my review if I wanted to bash you I probably would have said: It's 2025 perhaps if you invested on designing a site that is professional and user friendly then people wouldn't have to call for clarification and ask questions. If you are truly as good as you claim to be I would think you'd have more customers raving about you. Even If your facial was free I wouldn't bother going there. Hand holding your stylist is uninspiring and makes me lose confidence in the skills of the hair dresser. The haircut ended up being alright, but needed more work when I got home (I got tired of saying shorten here, reshape here). It didn't feel like the stylist was willing to assess my hairlines and tailor a proper style for my hair. I may go so far as to say I've had better haircuts at Supercuts, but I'd rather support local than conglomerate.

Went there for years and stopped going two years ago. Owner was doing someone else's eyebrows…read moreright before me. I noticed when she left and I got into chair nothing was cleaned. I simply asked her to sterilize the products and cut fresh thread. She proceeded to argue with me stating "it's just hair". I proceeded to tell her that was disgusting and the "just hair" that is pulled sometimes produces blood from the hair follicle which can result in spreading blood borne pathogens.
