She greeted me at the door and was very open with how the salon is ensuring customer safety with Covid precautions - everyone wears masks, everything is sanitized after every customer, right down to the pen you sign your receipt with. This made me feel super at ease to sit in the chair and relax; I had no worries throughout my time there. I'm used to paying $60-70 for a haircut and having to drive over an hour to my usual hairdresser (who is also an incredible curl cutter). I never get my hair shampooed before it's cut - a dry cut works best on my curls, so not only was I amazed that it was half the price of what I'm used to paying, I'm elated I can actually afford to come back every two months and keep up with getting rid of my split ends! You won't miss the salon once you turn into Cock & Bull lane and turn into the Triad Complex, Mane Event is the last shop in the corner and there's parking right outside the front door. As advertised, they were in fact able to accommodate me without an appointment. The salon itself is super cute with a lot of shabby chic decor -- a bit of an Etsy upcycled look to it. After about a 30 minute wait, I was introduced to my stylist, Kim Curling. Kim asked several intake questions about my hair, my daily routine, and my preferences before starting. Typically, I'm hard pressed to find a stylist who doesn't cut my hair too short on the first try -- but Kim did an excellent job staying in my comfort window. She also was very helpful by introducing me to a new styling product that is amazingly low maintenance, helps maintain my curls, and doesn't make my hair stiff as a board! Overall, it was a good experience. In terms of my star rating -- I went with four because it was an expensive endeavor ($80+), and for that price, it didn't come with spa perks that I've come to expect at that price level (aromatherapy, skin/scalp treatments, complimentary tea/coffee, etc.). It's a nice little place though and I wouldn't hesitate to get my hair done here again if I was in the area!

The blonde sections were so incredibly thin it blended into the hair and just made me have a "lighter brown" hair look which is not what I asked for. Reached out to stylist (Jessica Forbes) and was told to wash my hair 2-3 times to wash out toner... which resulted in ZERO change (I've washed 5 times now) Hopefully someone can avoid this happening to them in the future. Three hours of work and $258 just to look like I didn't get my hair done AT ALL. Stylist refused to fix it and insisted washing my hair was magically going to make it look like the hair I wanted.

I believe the person that did this was named Paige. She was really focused on talking with the other stylists rather than keeping track of my timing. I even asked multiple times since I sat there for so long and she sort of blew me off and said "it's fine". My hair was so damaged as part of that process. Any styling tool I use even on the very lowest setting causes my hair to become crunchy and it just clumps together. Can't even comb through it. I spoke with a real stylist at another salon and they have given me tips for trying to work through this but the damage is done. Evidently a lot of conditioning treatments are needed and waiting for the damage to grow out. No, I did not go back in or call and tell them about this as I wanted nothing to do with this place. I have since spoken to a few people I know that tried this place once and they warned me not to go. Wish I would have spoken to them before I went there.

They called me back…read morewithin an hour and I told her what was going on and I had an appointment for the same day with Tara. THEY ARE NOT WALK IN SO BE SURE TO CALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! Also, they're open late during the week but closed on weekends. I got there early but was called back on time. Tara listened to me and gave me advice and an hour or so later I had beautiful hair again! My home dye turned my hair orangey-red and Tara returned it to its semi-natural color of dirty blonde using chunky highlights. Tara is awesome. The salon is clean. Everyone is friendly. I've found my salon and even referred my son there because he wants his hair colored purple or blue and Tara would be perfect for the job!
