Used a Groupon for a facial here. It was affordable. However I wouldn't purchase it again. This is not a very bougie spa. Don't expect cucumbers on your eyelids or to be handed a glass of champagne. I would have liked it more had my woman been more vocal about the steps she was doing, and the benefits of them. I would have liked it if there was relaxing music playing in the backroom like there was in the lobby; instead of hearing my facial lady texting while my mask is setting on my face for 10 minutes. I would have liked something better on my eyes other than cotton pads. The products don't smell that great, and the final step I guess there's a shiny serum or moisturizer on my face, not entirely sure, and I don't know how long it's going to take to dry, but I kind of want to wipe it off before I go anywhere else today. read more

Not know anything about "threading", I walked into the Wink Threading Studio in the Peninsula town Center with an open mind, determined to find out what it was all about. The woman working there, Simran, was very nice; she let me take pictures of her studio while she continued to work on a client with another client waiting. I said I would like to talk with her and she asked me to come back between her appointments. I did so and she took the time to explain the process. Apparently, threading is a technique of using cotton thread, pressing and twining it tightly and close to the skin, and removing hairs from the follicle. It is much more precise than waxing and more effective than shaving since it removes the hair from the follicle. However, unlike wax, it does not damage the top layer of skin, so it's much less painful and it's harmless to the skin. Also, it is a natural process that does not involve chemicals. Though I have not had the process done personally, all of Simran's clients I saw that day seemed to love her work. Also, her studio was nice and clean and had a good vibe, and Simran was very nice and helpful in talking with me. read more

Where to start ..Brazillan Wax Went to Norfolk store 1St. The place was dirty wax all over floor got wax on my socks 2nd. Holy HHHHHOOOOOTTTTT wax way to hot to being putting on private area (praying I dont blister up) 3rd .lady dropped wax on my leg (now I know why wax is on floor) 4th. Aftercare was awful still so sticky and wax is sticking to underwear , ass sticking together, Seriously clean up your business, turn down the damn wax and learn how to do aftercare on waxing. read more

I come here regularly. Unfortunately my lady wasn't working today so I saw someone new. I told her to leave them thick and just clean them up. She took too much off. Made my brows skinnier than I wanted. She insisted she only cleared the new growth but you can see the difference in my skin color because the skin is lighter where she took too much off. There's no tan. I love coming here and know not to see this Asian lady who wears glasses. I'm incredibly upset. I know it's hair and will grow back. I came to the hampton location on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 for an eyebrow appointment. The lady did not do a good job, but I'm thinking ok perhaps it'll look better once I'm outside as the lighting inside is a little dim. Well, once in my car and looking in mirrow, no my eyebrows; especially the one looked horrible. Once home I called and someone from the Norfolk location answered, I explained my situation and offered to send an email with a pic attached; the lady on the phone gave me her email and I sent. I believe the next day she would called me back and said she understood how I felt and of course asked that I go back for a re-do after my brown grows back in, I told her no that I wanted a refund. I was told I would have to wait for the refund lady to call me back. Ok, fast forward to here we are a WEEK later, still no refund after the "refund lady" called me last week and told me to come this past Tuesday, July 20th. I told her I would be there by 5:15pm after work. Earlier that day I called to confirm that I would be there and was told "oh, she's off today for her native holiday" Then why did you suggest that day. I was then told I would get a call back on Wed morning @ 11:00 a.m. , of course no call and when I called; all I got was another pointless apology. I've now sent another email and the reply now is that she had an emergency. Oh, did I mention when the "refund lady" called me she asked me to please remove the review I had written initially and ok, I took her at her word and removed it when clearly I shouldn't have !!!! THIS IS THE EPITOME OF HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! My refund amount is only 17.00 and some may think or say, well that's not a big deal, I wouldn't care if it was .07 cents; it's mine !!! read more

I arrived at the studio early and they were not open. While waiting for them to open, I had to go to the bathroom, but decided to wait until the studio opened since it was close to opening (and my appointment) time. When I walked in, I asked the owner if I could use the bathroom. She told me that it was not a public bathroom. That sounded reasonable, but I asked her, since I was a customer, if I could please use it. I was told "no". While she quickly threaded my eyebrows and upper lip, I was almost in pain from needing to go to the bathroom so bad. When she finished, I paid for the service and quickly left. I didn't leave a tip, for two reasons. One, I was in such a hurry to find a bathroom to relieve myself. Two, what sort of customer-service oriented business would not provide a bathroom for customers? I realize that the law does not require it, but it's pretty much a given that customers can use a bathroom. Sorry, this place lost their tip and any future business. She should be lucky that I didn't have an accident inside her store. read more

I have had a mediocre experience at Savarna. I have payed for both henna and eyebrow threading as well as upper lip multiple times. I moved to the VA area a year ago desperate for a new threading place. I have very thick eyebrows and like it very much that way. A perfect arch to me is super important. The decor is perfect and the staff members are generally nice. However, I feel they, as a team could benefit from a threading course of some sort. My eyebrows have not come out terrible, but they have not come out exceptionally good either. I would go else where if you are very particular about your eyebrows like me. The price is quite hefty if you don't have a membership. The henna is subpar. Upper lip- pretty good- you can't go wrong for this usually. read more

I booked one month ago online for the first available appointment. The website made me prepay for an eyebrow threading ($15). Showed up to the business, email receipt on my phone and it is "temporarily" closed. However, the notice posted on the door basically makes it sound like the salon is overdue on rent. If you intend to reopen and acquire new customers, you should at least have the decency to contact customers and notify them of the situation. When I first entered the place, I was really excited to find such a beautifully decorated salon. It was reminiscent of the vibrant colors of India. There were even these famed beauty products from India, albeit probably 200% over priced here than what you would find back in India. I'm very selective in who threads/shapes my eyebrows, as this process is (should be) personal - framing your face. I've been to many salons, and tried both waxing and (especially) threading. Nevertheless, I thought I would give this place a try, as I heard good things about it. It was the worst experience I've EVER had!!! A person named Mariam (not sure how it's spelled) assured me that she is an "expert" in threading, and that I should "trust her." Well, I ended up with more than I bargained for. Not only were my eyebrows shortened length-wise, but I had a bloody upper lip, literally! I had warned her that I have very sensitive skin, as you should always indicate that before you get any service done on your face or body. She did not seem to care about this, and indicated that it's painful for everyone. In fact, the only thing she offered to calm my reddened face was a dab of alcohol. She indicated that they (Wink Threading Studio) do not apply anything on the face for calming after threading except for the said alcohol. I thought I had communicated with Mariam that I just wanted to clean the eyebrow (shape), and not get it thinned or nipped. Clearly this requirement was not met. I did not complain to her, nor was I able to meet the owner to complain to her. I believe she was on her break in the back. I paid the bill, left a generous tip, and I silently left. Perhaps (in retrospect), I should have paid her a tip (in words instead)! I've had threading done in the many years and trips I visited India and other places, but I never had an experience such as this. It was very unprofessionally done. I've been having my eye brows threaded for years now. I've lived in many different states and have always had good experiences when it comes to having my eyebrows done- mainly because all I do is have them "cleaned up" now . Sure some times people mess up a bit- but nothing a little brow powder or pencil can't fix, so it's not a big deal... except for this place. This place destroyed my eyebrows. I am missing half of my left eyebrow and part of the front of my brow, my right eyebrow has a slit down the middle and some of the tail of my eyebrow is completely gone. The powder they sell is HORRIBLE you're better off dragging a sharpie across your eyebrows because it will probably look more natural than what they gave me. I strongly advise you to stay away from this place. You are better off just shaving your eyebrows off and doing Chola Brows. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would! They are unprofessional, staff does not know how to properly thread eyebrows. I've been getting my eyebrows done for 6 years in multiple locations this was by far the worst. It was so painful by the time I was done I had bumps alllll around my eyebrows and it was super red. I don't ever get red. My eyebrows are also 2 different sizes. Then the employee tried to tell me it was my first time because of how my skin was reacting. I was in the area for Memorial day weekend and desperately needed my eyebrows cleaned up. We came in on a Sunday and it was fairly busy, but only one person was working. I requested to have my eyebrows just "cleaned up" and not too thin. She ended up making them really thin. But kept my shape for the most part. She did a mediocre job, fortunately she didn't mess up and take the whole thing off. I wouldn't come back, but it's not the worst place to go. read more

I have been threading my eyebrows for about 12 years now at least monthly if not biweekly. I have been doing so at Savarna for the last 8 months. I had one bad experience in this time that also culminated in damage control by Ruwaidah and thus have never left unhappy. Yesterday, Ruwaidah was not in, Tripti was. I have never met her before but she also does a great job. Thus, if you go to Savarna, ask for Ruwaidah or Tripti and you shouldn't be disappointed. Also, these girls want you to be pleased with your experience so when they hand you that mirror take a close look at your eyebrows and if you see something you don't like or hair that you missed, tell them and they will take care of it. I always have to do that even with Ruwaidah and Tripti and I think that is just fine. read more

Definitely a NO GO!! I made the mistake of purchasing the 3 for $89 Brazilian special from them and every experience has been horrible. First, booking an appointment is the worst because they only have 1 person who does waxes on 1 day of the week and sometimes (like this week...right before my vacation) she doesn't even do them. It's a waste of money to buy something and you can't even use it when you want. Secondly, they use a very sticky nasty cheap wax that makes your skin stick together after the job is done! The second time I got waxed here the lady had the nerve to sprinkle baby powder EVERYWHERE before she started! Everyone knows that baby powder DOES NOT go "Down there". I was livid! Thirdly, privacy is unheard of here. There's no room for the waxing to take place. They literally put a bed in the walking area/hallway before you get to the bathroom. Therefore, if someone is getting waxed...the bathroom is off limits. Several times someone has opened the door while I was getting waxed!! Or the tech has walked in after I finished getting undressed and took her sllloooowww time closing the door behind her so I'm exposed to everyone in the waiting area! This place will never get my money again!! I trusted because they did decent eyebrows they did Good Brazilian waxes....Not the case! While the place is nicely decorated, Be very careful when going here. The women were very nice, But I didn't love my experience here. Most places that do threading ask you what design you want your eyebrows arched in. Well the woman who arched mines didn't ask. Whats worse is when I looked in the mirror after the job was complete, I looked more like a cartoon character and less like myself. She gave me this weird shaped eyebrow, I hated it so much. Not to mention I have scratches around my eyebrow which is a first for me. I don't like how she completely changed my eyebrows. The threading is decent but don't purchase the products. You can't return them even if they are sealed and unopened. I'm a member but for that reason alone I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I will not be renewing my membership. The products were $35 per bottle and I had an allergic reaction to one item so I decided to return the others that I had not opened. I should have read the reviews before going here. I said...."not too thin...I like them thick." She left them semi-thick but the real problem was that it wasn't clean at all. When you get your eyebrows threaded or waxed.....the lines should be clean...no pieces/chunks missing. At a certain point I was just like "just leave them, I'll try to fix them myself." Not worth it. I would come to this location regularly to have my eyebrows threaded. Unfortunately the lady that usually does my brows (she's awesome!!) was not working. I was in desperate need of a clean up so I decided to go with the someone new. Big mistake!!!! Even though I told her I wanted to keep them thick, she removed the majority of my brows, leaving them extremely thin and took out a huge patch of hair right in the middle of my right brow leaving a big gash/hole. I did not get her name, but she was older and wore glasses. I was growing my brows out for my wedding, let's hope my MUA will be able to work with this huge mistake. I came in town yesterday in preparation for a wedding and a big fan of eyebrow threading. After reading several reviews of the best location in town to get my brows done, I opted to choose Savarna as it was closest to my hotel, but the reviews were poor. Not being the one who always takes reviews to heart, I decided I'll try the place and just ensure I tell the threader exactly what I wanted so there be no mistakes. After it was my turn for the threading and specifically telling the threader I wanted to keep my natural arch and just a clean up, mistakes were made after the first brow was done. I almost became irate about this as the person did not listen and had my brow completely off base in alignment. However, Ruwaidah saved the day and quickly assessed the situation and resumed the threading personally fixing the other threaders errors and ensuring the other brow was to my satisfaction. I was so thankful to her and her responsiveness to me as the customer. Lesson learned - Reviews are important to note about businesses to get an idea of their customer service satisfaction, but you can never be sure of how the business operates until you check it out yourself because everyone's experience may be different. What could've been an eyebrow horror for me turned out to be a satisfied customer experience! read more

I love this place! I had lived in Turkey for 2 years and got my eyebrows threaded there. This place is the closest thing to that, price too! With the $30 a year membership you get a $2 discount, that is $8 for eyebrows!! I also invested in their face wash and toner. It was on the pricey side but it has done wonders for my skin. read more

Tried threading for the first time. It was pretty good overall. Was welcomed in and the staff was very friendly. The woman who did my threading was very nice and it lasted several weeks. The only bad thing was that it did hurt. I think this was just like it hurts to tweeze or wax hair, you probably get used to it, but it hurt this first time. I also got some great moisturizer that doesn't make me breakout so really happy about that. I will be going back. read more
