Mind you this same SUV had been gone over for safety prior to the school year exactly 1 month earlier on 12/23/24 by a friend and owner of a well respected auto shop in Excelsior MN outside of MPLS and was given a clean bill of health. The only complaints for the SUV was a known nail in the passenger front tire of which they charged an acceptable $26.99. What was "found" during the visit was the need to Remove and Replace both front lower Control Arms $986.32, Computerized 4 wheel alignment $159.95 and Remove and replace Valve Cover Gasket $757.88 for a total of $2093.27. We drove to Duluth and took the SUV to another auto shop and that shop was given the estimate sheet from 4th Street Auto as kind of a "cheat sheet" to guide them on what possibly needed to be repaired. After a full day of driving to and from Duluth and the expense of another car exam the final diagnosis was.....none of those suggested repairs were needed. I would personally suggest using caution if you are a young female student or anyone with no car knowledge taking your car in for repairs to this establishment.
