I recently visited Car Toys because I got a new SRT bumper installed with LED snorkel lights on my 2016 Dodge Charger, so I needed the wiring connected to the headlights and turn signals. I tried visiting two other auto lighting accessories businesses and they told me they weren't available for walk ins. When I came to Car Toys, I was quickly helped and the price of it was only an hour of labor, which is pretty good. Before I left I was trying it out and noticed the LED snorkel lights weren't on with my daytime running lights. NEVER go to this place!! We got our car back with everything HALF DONE but they charged us DOUBLE what they were supposed to, and when we asked for the money back from the jobs that they never even finished, they claimed they had no way of refunding us. Mind you, their policies don't say that all sales are final and they could not even finish ONE of the things we were paying them for. They couldn't even install a back camera and said it couldn't be installed because they needed an alarm??? but they left it in our back seat and we were able to have a neighborhood mechanic install it the same day. There's so much more to it, but overall they were just horrid, unprofessional, and completely clueless. LITERALLY when we asked them about things on the invoice they gave us, they were unaware of what they charged us. Update: After seeing our review, they called my sister back to get her car fixed by the general manager. He ended up not being able to install any of the items either, which was fine. We were just appreciative that they allowed us to come back in and get it fixed. The new problem is that after telling us they were unable to fix ANYTHING we asked of them, we were told that we would get a refund. Never got the refund and any time my sister called from her number, they would ignore and let it ring. We ended up calling from my phone and they answered after the first ring. Super unprofessional. My husband took our newly purchased used car to get a few things fixed here on Saturday. Those items were windows tinted, a keyless alarm system, radio and speaker installation. Tell me why the job was not completed and the ones that were completed was not up to standards at all. We were quoted $3800 and told that it should be done by the end of the day or latest Sunday. . We finally got a call on Tuesday and were told that it was ready to be picked up. Mind you, this would be totally fine if this car wasn't our only car and if we didn't have kids to take to school and bring home as well as our own personal jobs. also want to bring up the fact that on Tuesday some of the job was still not completed.. when asked why only three of our windows were tinted, why our back headlights were broken, how they ended up disabling the lock on the passenger door, why our back up camera that came with the radio we chose was not installed when it clearly stated it would be included. We were told by the worker that we didn't pay for all of that stuff. Mind you, $3800 for three windows to be tinted and radio installation is a bit absurd to me. The general manager was gracious enough to let us come back and said that he would fix everything. All of the window tints are messed up, everything that THEY broke was still broken, AND he promised to give us a refund for everything they weren't able to do. And said that the refund would be for $500... and then told us that the promotion they were having did not include a rear view camera. which sucks for them because I have a picture of the promotion flyer. someone please tell me where a tint cost $3000. After we asked him to break down the invoice because that price did not make sense, he said he had to "tweak" some of the things he put on the invoice for the labor that they did and the "extra promotions" he gave us. we did not get any promotions. You only did a tint and couldn't even do THAT properly. After asking why we're getting charge for something they couldn't finish, he said, "oh sorry, we thought we could" Please make sure you go get your work compacted before they run up your tab and not deliver. After speaking with a "Michael" he took a look at my speaker and amplifier and told me it was perfect. He quoted me over $1000 even though all I needed was a couple of wires. I asked him what exactly he was selling me part wise and wouldn't disclose it. Found a place on Abram that installed everything for $150 using premium equipment. I went in today to get a service on an ignition device. I have been here numerous times and never had any issues. Everyone has always been very friendly, prompt, and inviting. However today, I was greeted by an African American woman named "Contessa" I am unsure if that is spelled correctly. She was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Upon being given my total, it was different than any of the precious (numerous) times that I have been here for the exact service. As anybody would, I questioned it. She told me "oh no it's never been that. You're wrong. It's never ever been that. So are you going to pay or what" for one, I'm not an idiot. I believe I know what o have spent, with MY money. As well as I think I know what the receipts read. I work in the customer service industry and have for years. That type of attitude and personality is completely unacceptable In this profession. Very unprofessional. People like that will loose you a lot of business **edited to add that I did ask the employee her name, in which she refused to give me because "I don't have to give that information." So I had to ask the other employee outside. *very odd that mr.Cameron stated on the phone that he was aware of the situation and was told that it didn't happen, as he just told me on the phone. He as well was very unprofessional telling me that it is okay for employees to be rude to intoxalock customers because some of them "have cussed us out." #1. It still wouldn't be okay to retaliate against someone in a customer service position. #2. When I ask a question about money, not cursing, yelling, or being hostile, it certainly wouldn't be okay for someone to be rude and unprofessional. #3. A customer is a customer and if you don't want to provide this type of service you should speak with your higher ups rather than defending your employee about rude, and unprofessional. First off, I don't know the manager's name but I want to thank him for resolving my issue and listening to my concern. He tried to take care of the issue I was having and did a spectacular job. And I offer an apology towards the manager for my angry tone, but I don't appreciate when a salesperson tries to screw me over to make $$$. However, I am leaving one star due to the bad service and LIE a salesperson conducted against me. I went in to get an error checked that showed up on my stereo. I had previously had my equipment installed by car toys and my understanding is that there is a lifetime warranty on the labor of the install. Instead of listening to me or caring to help me, the salesman said oh your deck has an error you need a new deck! I said well isn't the installation guaranteed for life? he said no we can check it but it will cost $$$ just buy this deck and have us put it in. I excused myself and called another car toys location in iriving. The person on the phone said of course we cover your install for life. I went back into the Arlington car toys and asked the salesperson why he lied to me, he pretended like he didn't lie and he was highly dismissive. The manager got involved and the issue was resolved once a tech looked at the stereo system and did a reset on the stereo. Odd that I didn't have to spend money on that. To that salesperson that is nothing more than a liar, a snake, and what I see a pathetic thief. Every dog has its day, and guess what? You lied to the wrong person. And yes I am still going to contact corporate ;). You're a desperate person to lie like that for a sale. I wanted to upgrade the factory stereo in my Ram truck... I like the truck but the stereo sounded terrible. I am familiar with car audio and decided I would just do the work myself, then I started reading about integration to the factory head unit (big screen that I wasn't going to replace) and how complicated that was. I knew I needed a professional. I took my equipment, 2 amplifiers and a sub/box, and went to CarToys knowing it would NOT be the cheapest in town... but also knowing it WOULD be done right and quality materials would be used. My sales guy listened to my request, went and got the installer, and together we mapped out what I needed to get what I wanted. I set the appointment and brought my truck and equipment back a couple days later. I picked up the truck and was happy... I was ending a very busy work week and didn't really have time to look closely at the work until a couple days later. I expected to spend a couple hours cleaning up little things like putting wire loom on the power wires under the hood and maybe securing them out of the way... but I was wrong. The install was CLEAN...every wire covered, tucked away out of sight, no panels loose, no trash or evidence that work was done at all. It just sounded better and worked 100% like it was supposed to with my factory equipment. instead of cleaning and straightening things up I got to enjoy driving around and listening (and feeling) my new system. I went from a Lexus with a good OEM system to a Ram with a terrible one...but now the Ram outshines that Lexus in every way. I never thought it would turn out this good and I am super happy with my decision to leave the hard work to the professionals. I am sure someone would have done it for less...but I wanted it done right. Thanks CarToys for being on your game and providing such clean work... I had high expectations and you blew them away. He was a very large man, would not give me his name. but there was a misunderstanding about price and rather than discuss it with me he insisted on refunding my money and said Car toys would not be doing business with me any longer. I have spent thousands of dollars over the years. i finally went to the Car toys in west ft worth that I had delt with many times and they were very proffessional. Its employees like the one on Arbrook that finally loses enough cuctomers that they have to close the doors. Satisfaction Guaranteed? I am not satisfied. I paid top dollar to have a radio installed. I was originally told my car would be done in a few hours. It took all day. I had to leave the state in the morning and didn't have time to return for another lengthy "look under the dash" I called to explain the situation and was simply told to return and I would be taken care of. That was not the case. When I did I was told I'd have to wait two day to get my car repaired. I've had to travel with this obnoxious rattle. I asked to be compensated for my travel cost (Uber ride home) and was told "no" by the manager. That the best he could do was vacuum my car. "it's not like I murdered your dog" was what he said to me. I am very unsettled by this. The demeanor was unnecessary. I had a new multimedia receiver installed, and dropped off my car with all my stock speakers working. When picking up my car after install, all my speakers on my driver-side front door where not working due to a connection issue. The "specialist" said it wasn't their fault and did not suggest anything to simply connect a speaker plug. Also, after replacing my 6 year old head unit with a new $900 unit, the whole sound system now had no low-end sound. Again, the "specialist" could not suggest any recourse, and seemed like they just didn't want to deal with my car anymore. I spent $1,200 total, and left with a faulty system. read more

I paid almost double to have my system installed compared to what three other places quoted. The first well my amp would shut off after five minutes. After a month by thousand dollar sub blew. Put in a second one. Within two months that one blew. Went to another place to have it looked at and was told it would keep blowing speakers because us the way it was wired. Now I'm out two subs and an amp. Plus well over another thousand for installation. About five thousand dollars. I was told there was nothing they could do to help when my car filled with smoke because I didn't buy the actual equipment from them. They don't offer anything as nice as I had. A bad deal from day 1...10, yes 10 different times my truck was there for stereo issues caused by them. Apparently there are extra things you must do to a Toyota to make sounds work right. I had no issue finding what needed to be done but Car Toys never could, try checking Tundra and Toyota sites for answers but they never did, so I made them remove and refund me. I am sure they were aggravated as I was and still am. Removal was last Saturday. They took everything from my backseat and under seat and just tossed in bed of truck were it proceeded to rain on for 2 days. Beside myself at this point with the complete lack of customer service I received from this place and top it all off by ruining my shit because your boy was mad he couldn't get my stuff right!! Can't rate them any lower at this point, but if you want stereo equipment, do yourself a favor and RUN anywhere else!!!! Sexist! SOOOO sexist! I installed my own car stereo a while back and when my brother saw what I'd done he freaked and made me go to Car Toys to make sure I did it properly (which I had!) However, the guy who helped us would not talk to me though I made it CLEAR that it was MY vehicle and my brother had no say in anything. He kept speaking directly to my brother who just nodded and stared at the pretty girl looking at steering wheel covers (typical). After checking over my work, the salesman told me I would need to replace my deck if I wanted to listen to an iPod...which is BULL. Any aux input would work for an iPod. He was trying to dupe me. He also told me I needed to replace my antenna adapter because somehow in "MY" installation it ended up bent... I went out to check and dubbed it to be in perfect shape! He took me for an idiot and I pointed him to a mirror! Even so, as if bending it would hinder it's abilities! It's made of wires for heaven sake! This location did an awesome job meeting my needs and the budget I had. I bought a new car and was interested in getting a touch screen radio unit as well as a subwoofer for the trunk. The sales associate who assisted me (her name eludes me) was very informative on the products and what would fit my vehicle. She was more than willing to help me find products that fit into the budget and got within $6 of what I had planned. They even got my car in the same day to install both the touch screen unit and the subwoofer! When I returned to pick up the car, she and the technician went over everything that was done, made sure everything was connected to my phone properly, and help me understand how it all worked. When I decided to upgrade the factory system in my 07 Navigator, I was skeptical about a chain store having knowledgable, competent and patient staff. I walked in and right away discovered it WAS possible. Mike listened to what I wanted and what I wanted to spend and fully explained many options. I felt like I got a great deal but the cost of installation seemed high. I talked to the installer Brad and he confidently assured me I would be happy with the finished product. He was right. The beautifully installed system was worth it. I am very pleased with the system, the installation and the service. I had a couple of small issues after using it a while. Shane was the unfortunate soul who had to deal with me. He made several suggestions, and while he disagreed with my final request, he proceeded. There continued to be issues, and Shane continued to work with me until the alarm was no longer malfunctioning. He was patient and treated me with much more respect that I deserved (as I was highly stressed and fairly hysterical). I also dealt with the manager, who was also very kind. Went initially with a pre purchased auxiliary switch for my Infiniti M35..Zach the tech said it would not be a problem..then he talked me into getting my headlights done for $70.00. Okay it's all good! Then things went bad! He called to say I got headlights started but need to get a universal auxiliary switch and we sell them for 135.00 so the one he previously said was good was now not good!! #bait&switch.. i agreed because I'm already on the hook for the headlights. I go to pick up my car and engine light is on..was not on before?? Zac forgot to hook battery back up was trying to tell me I needed an oil change?? No I have 2k miles to go. Left there then a few days later Notice that my display clock on dash was missing..called Zac again..he says swing by Monday and I'll take a look at it. Its Monday!! I find out from the manager that was on duty today that I need to make an appointment and Zac is gone for 2 months to Houston for training!! YES! Zac needs additional training. I know a clock is not huge deal but I've wasted time and money dealing with Car Toys and they need to be more thorough when connecting items then the manager tells me the next appointment is in 2weeks to fix something they should have double checked!! Had a dash camera system installed Brand motion FVMR 1000. It's not cheap and the install was not cheap either. $340 for the system and out the door it was over $700. One would expect quality at this price point. At least in my neighborhood I thought I could. They accidentally broke my windshield getting the old mirror off. OK... The glass company they used left my washer hose disconnected under the wiper valance. when I was troubleshooting why my windshield washer pump was not delivering water a week later, I found the hose not connected and also the fact they had broken every clip that holds the valance to the firewall and had used windshield adhesive to fix it. It was literally 6 bucks in parts so I have no idea whey they just didn't do it right... The camera works but the rear view is pretty much useless at night. headlight blow out the aperture of the camera so all you see from behind is bright white light. The companies answer was to turn off the rear view and use the lens like a regular mirror. This can be done but it is snow a very dark image. The rear facing camera mount is very flimsy plastic and broke on the second day. I ended up making my own bracket and using silicone to attach the camera "hey it worked for the glass guy..." read more
