Car Struction was a great experience from start to finish. I was offered 2 other car repairs companies and was told Var Struction did good work. Once my insurance company made the call. A received a call from a cheerful and informative young lady. Offered me dates to bring in my car for the adjustor to give an estimate. The appt was much earlier than I expected. I met Ty who was very professional, respectful and experienced. He calmed my fears about the repair. I honestly did not expect but received stellar service. There was totally no wait. My car was completed 3 days earlier then estimated. Car Struction reserved the rental with the car rental company, through my insurance. Easy peasy. Great service! I brought my new truck in for some bodywork through my insurance and things couldn't have been smoother. The staff greeted me upon entry, I waited no time at all to be helped and it took just a minute before someone walked out to my vehicle to look over the issues. The paperwork was smooth and seamless. I had my car repaired here after an accident for a week, and it was returned not completely repaired. I called them to let them know the discrepancy, and was lied to. Matt said they replaced the part but Priority Chevy sends them scraped up parts. They didn't even touch the part and it was in the same condition and position as when I had dropped it off. Totally unprofessional, and I am insulted that they would think I believed this comical lie. Now I have to go to another auto repair shop for them to fix this part, and inspect the work that was done because if they returned my car in that shape I don't believe that the other work that was completed is even up to standard. I got in an accident and this place was on USAA's list of places I can go. I chose it because it was close to my house. I dropped off my car for an estimate. I read reviews about people getting things stolen from their cars so I took all of my valuables out except for my Michael Kors wallet because I received it as a gift and I didn't like it anyway. So I left it in my glove box. When my car was deemed totaled and I went to go get the rest of my things from the car, the MK wallet was gone. I'm not mad that it's gone, I'm more upset that it's their business to work with people's car and they would steal things from people. It's the principle of it and it's not right. Okay friends, I have said that if the shop fixing my car did me right, I'd give them a good review, and if not, I'd let everyone know. After countless delays, excuses, and shoddy workmanship, it is with great sadness that I report yet another shop to avoid in the Hampton Roads area. Avoid this shop at all costs if you want your vehicle repaired in a timely or correct manner. When I first brought the vehicle in, my estimate was for a week to finish all repairs. After one week, I contacted the shop, they did not contact me. I was told on that day, that they were "starting assembly", but the parts had been painted already, and it would be a few more days. Two days later on Wednesday, I called back, only to be informed that my vehicle would not be ready until Friday, as they were "starting assembly now", then the car had to go to paint. I called back on Friday at 8AM and was informed that the techs were "starting assembly" of my parts, but it would definitely be done that day. Friday at 4pm I called back, and was informed that my car was ... WAIT FOR IT... "Starting Assembly now". I was then told that the vehicles paint was only completed that day, and it needed to be put back together, then get buffed and polished for me. It will be done Monday, by noon. I arrived to finally pick up my vehicle on Monday at 12:30, and surprisingly, it was ready. Then began the visual inspection. Long story short, I'm having a new bumper installed, and the hood alignment corrected. My car is back in their shop again today, I dropped it off at 9am. I was told that the vehicle was supposed to be finished "in abut an hour, maybe two". Naturally, I did not call again at 11, I waited until 12:30. Can you guess what I was told? The tech didn't get started as early as he would have liked to, but they are "Starting assembly now." Should be only an hour or two, can we have a number best to reach you? As of this posting, it is 3PM, and I still have not received any communication from them. I left out all of the lies from the general manager Vince, and his complete failure to contact me regarding other smaller issues I don't feel like typing out. read more

Brought my car here after an accident, due to the convenience of one stop shopping (Claims adjuster, Damage inspection, Rental Car, etc) and recommended by my insurance company. I was called and told my car was ready to be picked up, but they had a problem finding a center cap for one of the wheels. When I got there and inspected the car, initially it looked fantastic, but upon closer inspection not so much. 1. Replaced one and only one center cap with a generic Ford cap, not the 45th Anniversary cap, was told they don't make them anymore. 2. Sticky stuff all over the front quarter panel of the car, I asked what is that, and his answer was touch up paint and it was on there when the car came in, and its documented as such, Well I'm no expert but when my thumb nail can scrape it off and it looks like dried up milkshake...... its not paint. 3. The rear bumper did not fit the car, it was off 1/8" in on one side and and good 1/4" on the other. His answer ..... what do you expect its an after market bumper...... my answer I expect it to fit. When my insurance adjuster showed up and looked at the car he immediately said your right this car is not ready for pick up and I'm going to get them to fix it. I was warned not to take my car here, but I assumed it was just a bumper cover and a scraped up wheel. How can they screw that up....... I want to stress that my insurance company has been outstanding during this process and I put full responsibility on the Carstruction. read more

I was hit at the parking lot of Taco Bell waiting for my turn at the drive thru window. Car Struction did a great job taking care of everything. I was able to get my car in for an estimate the next day I called. The whole process took about 30 minutes. After several days, the parts came in and I was able to drop my car off at Enterprise and they were able to get me in and out within15 minutes or so. Initially, I dropped my car off at Car Struction, someone picked me up from there and dropped me off at Enterprise to get my rental. I dropped my car off on a Monday afternoon, and they said it would be ready in about 4 days. However, they didn't call me back that Friday afternoon until close to 5pm. It wasn't really an inconvenience since I did have a loaner, and since it was Labor Day weekend, I kept it until Tuesday the following week. Great service. Impeccable job on my bumper. This is not my first time here. I've actually came here several times before, it's just been well over 10 years. read more

Sadly disappointed with this place. I recently was involved in a minor fender bender where they had to replace the drivers side door. When it was returned the door mirror wouldn't work except in one direction. They ordered a new mirror which so happened to be the wrong one(different connector) so they ordered a new one with the proper connector and that one doesn't work either. You would think that the installer would at least test it prior to turning the car back over to me, but no. I'm sitting in the driveway trying to adjust it and we're back to square one. Last time they'll get to work on my cars. And IMO the body work wasn't that great. read more

This auto body shop is top notch. Matt is the guy I go to to get things done. He is polite, professional and always so helpful. I've taken my car there about three times now and they have always treated me the same way. The waiting room is very nice coffee and microwave are included. Rear end job on a high end vehicle... the work was POOR & YES I am Serious about my car. & when you know a "little" about body repair the panels lining up matter.... I had a tire blowout on Sept 4th and it blew off my whole rear right-side taillight/bumper! Nothing but wires hanging where my lights used to be!Car Struction in Chesapeake was one of the places that my insurance partners with. I saw they had good reviews so I took my car to them and dropped it off. They called Enterprise and they came to pick me up. The whole time they had my car Zack would provide me with updates as to everything they were doing. He ALWAYS kept me in the loop. Customer Service is so friendly and I was always greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in the door. It really made me feel good about my decision. Needless to say once they finished the work 2 1/2 weeks later it was OUTSTANDING! Everything was good as new! Paint job was great and they even got my same bumper with the word "COMPASS" engraved in it. I would recommend this shop to anyone with these type of damages. CAR STRUCTION YOU ROCK! I took my car to fix a bumper issue and the bumper came out as good as new, except they broke my car. Now I had to buy another car. Before I drove it off their lot it was flashing a light that I have NEVER seen before. I drive a Prius and the battery NEVER gave me a sign of dying or slowing down. My car drove beautifully before I took it to them. I seriously think they switched my battery with another dead battery but I can't prove that. I mean, why would I waste $500 deductible to fix a cosmetic issue in a dying Prius? They ran some diagnostics on it and they basically told me that it's not their fault and I can't prove it. read more

I was in an accident and this was one of the places my insurance company recommended. My husband was not happy about the paint job but for me I didn't see a problem. My complaint is that when I got my car back I realized that the Touring emblem on my car was missing. The first time I called I was told it was ordered and they would call me when it came in. I was never called. Over a two month period I called multiple times and was told various excuses as to why the emblem was not there. Finally after 2 1/2 months I was told to bring my car up. The guy out the emblem on and when I said that I thought it was put on the wrong side he assured me that no, they had looked it up and that is where it was supposed to go. I looked it up when I got home and sure enough I was correct. An older model of my car (2007) had the emblem where the guy had put it but my model (2012) had the emblem where I said it was. I really wished I had done my research before choosing this company. It has been a nightmare to deal with. read more

A weather related accident put me in the market for a collision repair. I asked for referrals from all my friends and from my Volvo mechanic who referred me to CarStruction. I took the Volvo to 3 different repair centers. At each one I arrived early for my appointments so I could walk the area to see their work, observe their interactions with customers and generally to get a feel for how they do business. I immediately ruled out one of the referrals as they didn't have enough space for the vehicles that they already had on hand plus they told me what they would do for the repair rather than listen to what I wanted done to the car. The other place I went had a similar and reasonable quote to CarStruction. They actually told me to go to CarStruction as they felt that CarStruction had more advanced equipment that was going to be needed to do the repair to my Volvo. So glad I listened. I have babied this car for 21 years and it has over 300,000 miles and is in perfect running condition. I refused to let the insurance company total it so I was paying for the repair. Together, their representative, Nathan, and I came up with two affordable repair plans that I could choose between. I chose the lesser expensive repair based on the value of the vehicle and its use as a second car. The repair is far better than I ever expected and done much sooner than I was expecting. They did not charge me extra for the extra work as Nathan explained that once the technician got into the vehicle damage he realized he could do the repair to a higher level than expected for the same dollar amount. I had an accident in my Kia was told by them it was totaled and I disagreed and told them I would take elsewhere that was when they told me they could fix it. Now come to find out my best friend had a very minor brush against a barrier, mostly running board damage, her vehicle is in excellent condition with very low mileage they told her also they were totaling her vehicle in which she took it to the dealership and they can't find any damage but alignment and tire. This place is the worst. I took my truck in for what most shops would consider minor work (mostly some scratches along the sides of the bed, a bunch of scratches on the tailgate, and some small dents on the tailgate). They had it for a week and I went to pick it up. They did all of the dents on the tailgate but, left one tiny dent that could've been knocked out with an extra minutes worth of work, so that was the first thing that irritated me. Then I get it home and look at it in the sun and see all kinds of issues. The side has all kinds of scratches in the brand new paint, which look like someone buffed it with a green pad and the paint has a serious "orange peel" effect. Aside from the dent that is still in the tailgate, it also has the "orange peel" thing going, has a bunch of scratches and there are spots where there are ripples in the paint because they oversprayed. I brought it back to show them the work and tell the manager (Matt) that it looks like they didn't wet sand anyone of it and he tells me that they don't so that there. He then tells me to bring it back and they can take care of it in a few hours. He tells me that it HAS to be on Thursday or Friday, so I bring it back on Friday. I get there and he's on vacation, the Geico adjuster is on vacation and no one there has a clue that I was bringing the truck in. A different manager tells me that it would be more than a few hours because they have to wet sand it and then buff it out. Hmmm, wet sand ??? He asks me to bring it back on Monday so they can have it overnight. I drop it off on Tuesday because I couldn't get there on Monday and I go home. I get a call on Thursday that the truck is ready and it is Matt, he tells me that they got the tailgate all squared away. I then tell him that it was more than just that and they had to redo everything. He goes "oh I wasn't here when you dropped it off, so I dunno what they did". Um, you were the one that I discussed it with the very first time I brought it back. I call the Adjuster and tell her to make sure that they did everything and she says that they did, so I got back to get the truck. I walk in and Matt is showing me everything that they "fixed" and it all looks the same. I was so fed up with dealing with this place and going back and forth, that I just said it was fine and left. I will let Geico sort it out and send it someplace else to get it right. This place is horrible, they don't care at all, they do horrible work, and no one communicates with each other internally. Take my advice and go someplace else or even attempt to do it yourself, it will look the same but, you just won't have the stress of dealing with these people. read more

Nice people! However, be careful that they perform all of the repairs specified. In my case, they did not replace the most expensive part (sonar sensor).. had to take the car back once I realized it. Also, somewhat sloppy in completing all repairs. Had to take my car back to get the muffler exhaust pipe attached properly. read more

I brought my car in here for several back-to-back repairs throughout the course of this year...After my latest repair, the rep brought my 'repaired' car around with a misaligned headlight and a hood that wouldn't shut properly. After repeated attempts at latching the hood, the Rep just handed me the keys. He rolled his eyes when I told him it was unacceptable. After finally getting my car back the following week, my catalytic converter exploded on the highway...back in it goes. Long story short, Car struction holds on to my car for an additional 3 weeks while AAA and Car struction argued over who would pay for it. For a catalytic converter repair. read more
