This business deserves a zero rating in my opinion. My reasons are stated below. I have also posted this review under google reviews. There I found and interesting post from someone made two years ago. Same profanity, same slow service and not enough drivers. I wouldn't waste your time trying to salvage a vehicle with this business.
I have never written a negative review of a business in my life, but the recent poor service and despicable language I received from the Car Guyz of Fitzwilliam, NH warrants explanation.
I called this business to see if they would purchase two of my vehicles for salvage as I had two prior pleasant experiences with them many years ago. They agreed to purchase my cars, agreed to a price and set a date for pick up. That process took nearly a month as they were slow to respond and seldom returned phone calls. I was patient because of the past experience. On the day of promised pick up they never showed up, even after a cell phone call confirming their intentions to arrive. My wife and I waited all day for their arrival. They stood us up again a few days later. On top of all that, the wife of the owner swore at me with the "F-word" before hanging up on me. You see, when I asked them why they were not keeping their commitment/word to me she replied "We don't have to buy your "F-ing" cars! That's the treatment I received after patiently waiting a month and recommending friends to their business. Sometime has seriously changed in their business practice in recent years. She should be ashamed of herself for treating a customer in this vulgar manner, especially a local veteran. I don't know how the owner and his wife (it is a family run business) sleep at night with a clear conscience.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). It is case # 16058202. One can read the transcript at www.bbb.org. It is listed under "Answered" category, but not resolved section dated 7/28/2016 for this business. In the owner's response to my complaint, he felt no obligation to me to keep his word/commitment, stating that he "reserves" the right to not conduct business with anyone. I guess he felt he could change his mind at any time. Apparently that includes the date of promised pick up without any reason or notification. In other words, their word doesn't mean anything. He doesn't think his business has done anything wrong, even after the swearing.
After researching other reviews of this business online, I found it interesting to learn that I am not the first person to be sworn at by the wife of the owner. While I am not familiar with that person nor the circumstances of that event, it is worthy to note that that is two independent reviews of similar treatment in the span of a couple of years. I spoke with a BBB representative about the use of profanity. If anyone else experiences this foul language, I recommend that they file a review at the BBB website in order for them to track such behavior. As of the day of this review posting, I have not received an apology from the owner for the profanity.
It will be interesting to see the owner's explanation to this review. Let's see if he will admit to the profanity. I stand by my word as a retired Air Force Colonel. I have a witness to their commitment and the conduct of phone conversations. There is simply no excuse for such treatment.
I have some words of advice for this owner and his wife. For the sake of your business and your future customers: get your act together, be responsive, keep your word/commitment (after all, it is your honor and reputation at stake) and above all else, stop swearing at your customers! Do this and your business will flourish. If you keep treating customers in such a rude and disrespectful manner, you will continue to receive every negative review that you so rightly deserve.
Viewers of this post can of course decide for themselves as to whether they wish to conduct business with the Car Guyz of Ftizwilliam, but as for me, my family and friends living in the Fitzwilliam/Keene, NH area, we will stay very far away from this place.
