Called me back the last time and exploded and called me a bunch of names. Many excuses about why the check was not mailed, I even offered to come down and have it write it there at the shop. That also never happened. To top it all off? Lowered the price because all of a sudden after 2 months discovered the car wasnt worth it. Looking into small claims court. Literally go anywhere else. I called and left multiple messages a week, nicely asking what the status was and what was going on. Gave him time because of all the hard life problems I was told. But Im past my breaking point.

Your getting a fully inspectable car and it might need work to get it ready to drive so you need to have patience. Unexpected things may arise like the issue with my cars break booster. He spent a while on it because he knew it needed to be fixed. Alot of his cars have been traded or bought at auction. So they have issues like needing engine or transmissions. When you go and buy your car he offers a bill of sale with a understanding that it may take 2 weeks or longer to get it perfect. You also will have an inspectable car with sticker, and a 30 day warranty on transmission and engine! Can't beat that.

And between them and a great insurance agent we were able to buy the car, get insurance and get registered and plates all within 6 hours!! Green River Auto cares about their customers. They are now on our Christmas baking list and will be our go to garage for any car related stuff.

It's a vehicle that's not all that commonly available in this part of the country, and our price limit was right at the limit of what would be reasonable. He listened to us very carefully, asked lots of important questions, then set out on what can only be properly described as a "quest" -- and FOUND exactly what we were looking for! He was able to negotiate a great deal on it for us, then brought it back to the shop. This is where it gets even more wonderful, because the shop is known for being owned and operated by a mechanic with a sterling personal reputation and professional credentials, having trained in a shop up in Guilford, VT that is literally known as the very best one in the whole area. They assured us they'd go through and fix anything and everything on the vehicle that needed tweeking or repair before we picked it up, to make sure it was up to THEIR standards of excellence -- and that the price would not go above our limit even if they had to eat some of the cost. They explained this is because they shopped for the vehicle with their mechanical expertise, so if it cost more to fix it was that they'd assessed it wrong and should make good on it. Well, long story short, we took delivery of exactly the used vehicle we wanted, in perfect shape, looking like it came off a showroom floor, and it's everything we could have dreamed and hoped for. In the process, we found a mechanic we'll use and trust from now on, and made friends to boot! It's not easy to find a really superior mechanic and shop that has a personal value system based on ethics of doing what's right. Green River Auto is that place! And if you want a used car, I honestly do not see how you can do ANY better than you will if you go talk to Doug there. If he can't find it for you, it's not available. I've lived all over the country, from Texas to California and back again, and I have NEVER found a shop like this one, and never even imagined a person like Doug existed. He's literally come up with a whole new wonderful way to buy a used car you can count on, rely on, and be overjoyed with.

He was relaxed and calm and made the idea of buying an out-of-state vehicle (I'm in Massachusetts) seem not as logistically challenging. Larry and his coworker even drove the vehicle all the way to Boston for me. I was able to register the vehicle on my first try yesterday at the RMV. I waited in a huge line in the hot sun and was relieved when I was able to register on the first attempt - thanks to Dan who provided a bunch of paperwork I did not know I needed. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend trying out this dealership.

I think I'll be bringing my car elsewhere for my service needs. I really wanted to like them because the sales dept was so great! UPDATE: you can't make this stuff up, after receiving my engine and cabin filters in the mail, I went to change the engine filter as recommended and one of the bolt on the filter housing cover was broken and the soft engine cover was cracked, this is unacceptable, how does a "certified" mechanic do this and not one replace the part he broke or at least explain and apologize?
