Even opened up the place and let me park in their workshop on a Sunday afternoon so I could have the car secured overnight. The window was repaired promptly the next day and they were completely flexible with arranging a pickup time. I did have to arrange with the insurer to have Accurate Auto Glass do the work as they are not one of the preferred supplier, but that was just a matter of a phone call. Their workshop is centrally located and easy to get to. I was also informed that most of their work is done from mobile workshops on customer sites. All round great service, definitely recommend!

The folks at Maidstone have taken over for my old mechanics that I used and trusted in Grey Lynn…read more Maidstone is located about a block away from the Repco on Great North Road. We had recently purchased a used Honda CR-V and when it was taken to Honda they said it needed $4900 worth of repairs. We are very suspicious that Honda was going over the top in trying to restore the car to factory new conditions and that was impractical and unreasonable in our opinion. We took the car to Maidstone and they were able to look at it quickly and came back with a few of the same repairs Honda was suggesting. In one case they agree with Honda on a repair and getting the part as genuine Honda part. The remainder of the repairs were either cheaper, or they felt were not sensible to perform at this stage. As a result we saved several thousand dollars compared to Honda's repair suggestions. At the end we forgot to get a windshield wiper replaced on the rear of the vehicle and Maidstone gave it to us and didn't charge. They seemed like reputable and honest mechanics who stand behind their work and will make sensible recommendations. We will be taking all of our vehicles to Maidstone moving forward.

DO NOT RENT HERE!! It's cheap for a reason. We rented a minivan, a very basic camper van for our…read moretrip around the South Island. The van was very old, a 2008 model with over 300,000 miles. One day we cracked the plastic cover on the tail light when backing into a parking space because there isn't a back up camera and there was a metal planter that we didn't see. We notified them right away. They told us it wouldn't be too expensive to fix. Then after we returned the van and went back home they charged us $1200 NZ for it! The reason it was so expensive is because the van is SO OLD that they couldn't just replace the plastic light cover, they special ordered an entire taillight assembly from Japan. They also took 6 weeks to give us any kind of receipt to explain why it was so expensive.

NICK DOES TERRIBLE JOB AND DOES NOT HONOR HIS WORD…read more Before I finally decided to write this review, I had given Nick way too many chances to amend but he seemed not to take it seriously regarding creasing my new car's headliner. He even blocked my mobile so I could not reach him. But this is just the beginning...I am going to tell the full story so others who are interested in doing any tinting/wrapping in Nelson would make a wise choice. This happened when AUTOTINTZ was still in Auckland. I first contacted Nick in Dec 2019. Everything seemed fine until wrapping the roof. The roof wrap was scratched when he was wrapping so he suggested to redo the job afterwards. Even though the shark fin was also very poorly installed, I put it up and waited for another week so Nick could redo the job according to his schedule. Unfortunately he kept postponing and did not deliver even though he had promised several occasions. I even had to wait till 11/12 am just to hear him saying again sorry I could not finish the job (He promised to finish the job when I pick it up at 10pm and later he said it couldn't be done by 10 so I went there and waited till 11~12am). It was a nightmare but it wasn't the worst. The shark fin wrap was later on torn apart and also I realized the alignment wasn't right. I was so disappointed with Nick's work and just couldn't be bothered to ask him again as he seemed to make things worse. I later on dropped my car to Honda Newmarket and see what they can do. Unfortunately they do not patch up someone else's bad work. And even worse, they found out my headliner (at the back) was creased, which potentially would have leakage problem. Honda advised me to go to Nick again to get everything fixed as it is not Honda's responsibility to patch up somebody's bad work. I went to see Nick again and he admitted he was at fault and asked me for a quote to fix the headliner. I provided it to him later on (which was approximately $1000) and he said he wanted to find somewhere cheaper and would get back to me. He never did. Even I have been trying to reach him on phone / text. As I am also busy in other things so I have left this issue aside (I assume his workshop is there and he can't really get away.) Until I finally got some spare time and decided to sort it out once and for all, Nick had already moved down to Nelson. I texted him again and he pretended to forget what had happened. I tried to call him multiple times and he even declined my call. After I tried to escalate the issue through text, Nick admitted his fault again and said he should have fixed it (see picture 16). He promised me again that he would pay weekly starting from the first week of 2022. I texted him as reminder afterwards he never replied. Then I called him and realized I had been blocked. Nightmare is not enough to describe the experience as a customer. Nick not only failed to deliver a quality product, but also could not keep his promise as a business owner and a service provider. And more importantly, he ruined the headliner of my brand new car and now he is trying to get away. This is just the beginning and I am getting some legal advice on this. Nick you cannot get away from what you had done. Man up and take your responsibility.
