Armstrong was engaged by AA to assist us when our only car key was stolen. We advised AA it was urgent because we were stranded with an 11 month old baby. AA advised Armstrong would be there in 15-60 minutes. They arrived after about 80 minutes.
When the locksmith arrived, he got to work without delay, however he never really spoke to us. We waited near the car with our 11 month old baby for TWO HOURS while the locksmith continued trying to create a replacement key. At no stage did the locksmith bother to tell us it would take hours, or we would have found another way to get our daughter home right away.
After more than 2 hours, we asked what was happening and the locksmith said it would be another half hour. At this stage, we got our daughter home in an Uber.
After another hour the locksmith said he didn't know how to create a replacement key.
We got another locksmith out the next day who explained it would take a few hours and that we didn't need to be there. They created the replacement key without any fuss.
We have now had to phone and ask Armstrong for their invoice 3 times ($180 for the call-out!) so we can submit it with an insurance claim. They keep promising to send the invoice but have failed to do so. read more
