Went on Monday to Car Depot for a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. Once I got to Car Depot German greeted me and I told him I wanted to test drive the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, German right away got the Santa Fe and off we went to test drive. Everything went well with the test drive. I told German I was pre approved through a finance company and German told me that he would talk to Mike who takes care of the financing. Mike checked out and found a finance company that would finance me with a a better down payment and better interest rate. In less than an hour I was out driving my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. DO NOT FINANCE A CAR FROM CAR DEPOT. In August of last year, I financed a 2005 Honda Civic LX from this place, and not even 8 months later, the entire engine had to be replaced. Let that sink in -- a full engine replacement less than a year after purchase. That's not normal. That's a lemon. Either they sold it to me knowing it had serious issues, or they don't bother inspecting their cars at all. Both are unacceptable. I have never left a review in my life but this place was so awful that it prompted me to start. I saw a car online that really caught my eye so I called in to see if I could come see it. When I arrive there, one of the salesman is putting air in the tires (lets me know the car hasn't moved in quite a while). The car is already running and they tell me I can get in and check it out so I start running my tests in the interior of the vehicle, while I am in it, the ignition shuts off. I then go inside and tell them the car turned off which the other salesman tells me "oh you must have turned it off by accident" Right here is when I already knew I wasn't buying from this dealership but figured I would entertain it for a few minutes. I then said okay let's go test drive it then! Knowing good and well this car is not going to start. Salesman hands me the keys and I go out, sit in the car, try to turn it on and and am met by the infamous clicking. The salesman then looks at me and the car and goes "Oh my we must've forgot to fill the tank!" To which I respond "The car stalled... the tank is fine" After about 2 more attempts on trying to convince me the car is out of gas, he finally gives up and said "You're right, it stalled" I don't know if these 2 salesman are just not very smart or what but they have no business being in the car industry. This dealership will 100% prey on you if you are naive and have no experience with cars. Thankfully i've been working on cars for years and I also work in sales so their very disgusting tactics were very well observed. I also wasnt born yesterday! Terrible place to get a car. They will sell you a car, and soon as you leave that lot, you better believe something is gonna pop up on that dashboard. My car cut off on me in the middle of the highway. I've had this car for less than 1 month, and it's been in and out of the shop 3 times now. Where do I begin? I purchased a Volkswagen Jetta from this dealership back on 05/20/2022. After searching for months for a reliable car for my 16-year-old daughter, I came across this car, and the overall transaction was good. I live in Elk Grove, CA, so I flew down to Pasadena, stayed in a hotel, and picked up the car the following day. What is extremely disappointing about this dealership is, from the past to the present day. The vehicle I purchased has NEVER given us any issues. It has been a great car; however, the one time it breaks down, the warranty company they sold me denied the claim. Keep in mind, at the time of the sale, they told me they got me the best warranty for five years instead of the three I inquired about, and they said they even got me a great deal on the price. The turbo system failed at 72k miles. I took it to both Elk Grove Volkswagen and a local VW mechanic, and Alpha declined them both. During this nightmare, I reached out to Car Depot to explain what was going on. The first guy I spoke to was very nice and said he would look into it and call me back. HE NEVER DID. A few days later, I called back and spoke to MIKE., This guy was a typical salesman and didn't care about me or my problem. I tried to explain the situation, and I complimented the sale and the vehicle, and all I wanted was some advice. His immediate response was, "I don't know what you want us to do. "You wanted a warranty and you got what you paid for!" Of course, that wasn't the response I was expecting or wanted to hear, so I questioned him, and he accused me of being defensive. FORTUNATELY, he didn't get to see that side of me; otherwise, it would have gotten ugly. Bottom line, even after telling me he would talk to the warranty rep and call me back, he never did and left me hanging. I followed up a few days later, and he wouldn't take my call. He had someone else tell me it was too late to upgrade the warranty. WTF? I never asked to upgrade the warranty; all I wanted was some advice. #1. The people were nice but it was a big waste of time. The website is very misleading. I came to look at a car that I saw on the site but they said it wasn't there. Which okay, maybe it was just purchased and they didn't get around the removing it yet. But also on the website there's a "loan calculator" and it told me what the monthly payment would be for the specific car and the guy told me their loan calculator isn't even accurate and the amount would actually be over double what it said online. Chris was very helpful and accommodating in showing me different cars based on what I was looking for and I was very happy to have found something that met my needs. They had just gotten the car on the lot that day and were about to send it to a mechanic to do 2 repairs, so I did have to wait for that, but Chris and their mechanic both kept me updated on when it would be ready so they would be sure that any work that needed to be done on it was done before I picked it up. My Guy Elias at Car Depot was very professional assisting me. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I just purchased a 2016 Audi.

People at this dealership appeared to be fine. The transaction went ok, at first, and the repairs that were needed to be done were completed by them (to the best of their abilities at least). The problem arose when I had to deal with the manager mike. The paperwork that was needed took longer than he wanted, so he literally started screaming at me. He was not talking loudly, but full on yelling at me like a toddler. This guy had other customers walking around staring at us, and he's in full tantrum mode yelling at me like I am a child. Not sure if this was supposed to be some sort of intimidation tactic or something, but it was very unprofessional and extremely disrespectful. During his outburst, I explained to him that there was an issue with the cars brakes. While still screaming, he couldn't properly explain why brand new brakes, that they themselves put on, had an earsplitting squeal coming from them. I had to drive way out to upland to get the proper brakes. Another reason I returned there was because one of the bulbs in the brake lights didn't work. As you may know, it is illegal to drive or sell the car in that condition. I have had the car for about 2 weeks now and the car the paint peeled off of the hood, so now I have another couple hundred/thousand dollar bill on my hands. Then the engine started pinging, and once your engine starts pinging, you have to rebuild the whole engine in order to get it to stop. The touch screen turned off out of nowhere.
