I stopped in here on Black Friday for downsizing some jewelry after a fresh piercing from Sacred Siren. Since Sacred Siren closed suddenly I had to go elsewhere and had no idea what kind of jewelry I had in or needed to downsize to. Thankfully the ladies here barely batted an eye and helped me swap out for what I needed and sent me home with salt and instructions for a salt soak (Sacred Siren just had me doing saline sprays for a few months). The team here was shocked that Siren had me coming in 8 weeks after my initial piercing but said they'd follow whatever my original piercing said to do. I was initially nervous I was doing something wrong but I am glad I downsized when I did as I'm much more comfortable now. Soaking is a pain and I definitely can't do it twice a day but I will follow their instructions as much as I can for the next few months until I'm more fully healed. Place is pretty sparce with not a whole lot of jewelry to choose from. For some new bars and a jewelry change it came to be about $26. They honestly recommended going to Etsy for new jewelry which is what I did. I know they'd be happy to swap my next jewellry out in a few months but I'll just do it at home now that I know more of what's going on and what's in my body. They left me with my sizes and my old bars so I can purchase new items easily online. read more

8 months ago, my friend & I visited together- she got her nose pierced and I had a helix piercing. Liz provided a great experience- she is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! Today I brought my niece in (and her mom to sign off) for her helix. I didn't really know what I wanted, so I asked Liz for an idea for myself and she immediately had the perfect suggestion! Brought my daughter here to get a piercing. Walk ins only. We got there when they opened for the day. The receptionist was not friendly at all. Seemed to mumble her questions to use, which I then I had to ask her to repeat. Because my daughter wanted a body piecing and 17 and our addresses didn't match on licenses we were asked to go home get birth certificate and come back. We did, it's a 15 min drive. Once we got there the pieced then came out and did an anatomy check. Turns out my daughter wasn't a candidate for the piercing she wanted. Which is fine I'm grateful for the honesty, but why not have us go through that before we are asked to go home and come back? I had no idea she had to have the check before. As we I don't have experience in that. I would just say be mindful when going. read more

VERY disappointed after my experience today, especially after having a great experience prior with Liz piercing my ears a few months ago. Yesterday, I bought 4 pairs of flatback earrings as I lost one of mine and wanted additional colors. The girls at the desk were very accommodating and friendly even thought it was busy. When I got home I realized one pair of earrings had one set in prongs and the other not (and was labeled on the packaging as such). Easy mix-up- I decided I would ask to switch one the next day. Today when I came in to do so, the old man at the counter was immediately EXTREMELY rude to me, constantly cutting me off as I was trying to explain what happened, arguing I couldn't return it (which I didn't want to do anyway). When he decided to finally let me speak he quickly realized I was right and swapped out the earring. I went in originally wanting to also make additional purchases, but I didn't end up doing that as I wanted to leave asap. I have no plans to come back as long as he's working there. read more

Came right at opening to get lip ring put back in after surgery, would take about 2 min. We waited over an hour to get in. They do not show us how to put the ring back in so every time it has to come out we have to come back in, pay money and have a long wait. read more

My friend and I went Nov 2016 to get our Helix pierced. Kelly was fantastic and made sure we understood the importance of aftercare. Friend & I went back in September of this year. Although not as well-known (or centrally located) as Saint Sabrina's, I found myself at Captive Elements for a detailed sleeve. I'd been looking for the right artist to do it for a long time and a friend finally steered me towards Jessie. So I gave her a ring and met her in the shop. I'm so glad I did. Note that the shop is in a strip mall. The sign is big and easy to see, but you can cruise right past it, too. So I got there. I've found that, in a lot of tattoo and piercing parlors, the employees are a bit... I don't know. Elitist? Like, "My tattoos and gauged ears make me cooler than you and we both know it." Not the case at C.E. Not at all. The shop has an awesome atmosphere and while I'll probably never let anybody other than Jessie put ink in my skin again, I had a fun repertoire with all the people working the days I've been in. The shop is very clean and sanitary, without giving you that feeling that you're being quarantined in hospital like some other places that shall remain nameless. I found the prices to be fair and reasonable. The only downside for me was making the trek up to Blaine... but when you're putting something on your body that is permanent, no travel is really too far for good work. I haven't been to Captive Elements in a while, but I had such a good experience when I was there that I wanted to make sure they get a mention in Yelp. Elby was my piercer and he came *highly* recommended by a good friend of mine. Wow, I'm glad I took him up on that recommendation. I've been pierced quite a number of times, but only once by Elby, which is too bad because he's probably the most patient, gentle, warm but still professional piercer I've encountered. Their prices are good. They used to have a frequent piercer card...get so many piercings, get one free kind of deal (not sure of the exact wording, so don't quote me!)...not sure if they have that anymore. I wish Captive Elements wasn't soooo far away from me. I'd really like to be part of their "frequent piercer" deal. read more

Piercing virgin that I am, coupled with scar tissue from poor ear piercings as A child has made me gun shy. So..... I have to say that Scott was AMAZING! I called a week ahead, he called me back to answer questions and spent nearly 40 minutes explaining risks an likelihood of issues related to my personal history, as well as what I could expect and do to minimize risks. He then let me know how I could coordinate to limit wait time due to driving far! When I called the day of, the secretary knew my name when I called, and she stated Scott told her to expect me, and I had the same treatment on arrival making the experience comfortable and relaxed, like visiting a friend. Scott then clearly explained the procedure l, and what to expect while meticulously repeatedly washing hands between each step and donning fresh gloves as well. He then repeated the aftercare , and stressed the importance and safety implications, which I appreciated!!! Needless to say my 1st facial piercing was such a great experience I would recommend Scott and this agency to anyone! read more

I was looking for a new place to get inked since I had recently moved. I read some decent reviews about this place, and since it was close to home I stopped in to check it out. The artist came over, and she had the biggest attitude. I told her what I wanted and she told me that she would do it but it would be the size and placement of her choosing. I left. Aren't tattoos supposed to be what the client wants, not what the artist wants to do? I went to a shop a little further away and got the exact size and placement that I wanted. read more

You need one word in piercing: SKOT. He has worked at a few shops in the past but has been at captive elements in Blaine for going on two years. He is very knowledgable not only about piercing, but body modification in general. I have had three separate piercings done by him and wouldn't recommend anyone else as much as i do him. Also, i have never met a piercer that stressed aftercare as much as skot has. I keep coming here to get my piercings and it is fantastic! I was so nervous to get my first body piercing but Skot kept me calm. The piercing was so quick and easy. I've had some issues with rejection but the staff is so knowledgeable that my piercings have all healed really well. Ugh, not a place to bring a child for professional piercings. Not family friendly at all. We drove 35 miles only to be told that the little sister, who came to watch and support her older sister's first ear piercings, couldn't watch and due to policy, the little sister would have to sit in the car in the parking lot and in no way stay "in the shop." It was completely unacceptable. If you are looking to get kid's ear piercings, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Me and my friend walked into this place asking for a navel piercing. We were told a lady would be right out to check out her skin by her belly. When she came out, she took one look, and shot her down. We originally emailed the company got a great response back from "Craig the owner" on waiting a month for my wife to be repierced since we had a bad experience at another shop. So when it was time we called the day before we went said piercer be there we show up that day she left sick.. It is a 15 mile drive one way. No problem we understand than we call another day at 3 told she is there all day so we drive up there get there at 3:25 oh she has another person come back at 5 (never told that on the phone). Plus they dont take appointments so if its first come first serve we are there. And told them we were coming up right now for it on the phone.. So I email craig back I get some rude person emailed me back that to bad someone passed out. All I wanted originally was a nice apology and hey sorry here have $5 off for gas or something to make up for the lies I even told them I planned on getting a tattoo. I email back than Kelly messages back said oh no whoever sent the first email lied u need to wait 4 months to get repierced. And saying basically people lie who respond to emails. Very unprofessional. And after all this I still couldnt even get the owner to address the issue of people lying and not taking care of customers For the $20 you might save go somewhere that takes appointments and can actually answer questions because again Kelly says they lie on emails and the owner doesnt seem to need to respond to issues that there front desk clerk created. Oh yes and if they read this it was a full back piece I wanted to get.......... p.s. Got my septum pierced here about 3 months ago. I did not feel welcomed by the piercer herself. Plus, she failed to tell me i apparently did not have a "sweet spot" and went on her way to pierce through my septum cartilage. Again, WITHOUT TELLING ME. I just went back to have my navel pierced. Was told by the same piercer that she could tell my piercing was definitely going to reject just by looking at it. Although none of my other piercings have ever migrated. Doesn't make sense. OH, then she decided to go on an hour long break even though I had been waiting while she was with another client. Will not go back ever again. They are unprofessional. read more

Went here to get my nose pierced. Jennie was great! She helped me pick out the proper nose ring for me. She is also super cool on who you have in the piercing room with you. The sign says you can only have one person but she let me have 3. And when we got to the piercing part she was very kind hearted. I can honestly say I wasn't nervous at all.
