Service was great. Seated promptly, and our waitress was attentive to our needs. We ordered the frog legs and broiled stuff flounder. Frog leg batter was plain with no seasoning whatsoever. Fish was not fresh and stuffing had a pudding -like consistency that was far too watery. Baked potato was good, the house salad was perfect-very fresh vegetables and tasty croutons. Again, service was outstanding, and in the grand scheme of thing's, minor adjustments to the food preparation would transform this place into a wonderful place to dine. This place was one of our favorites,but recently the service has gone south,don't know if it's hard to find good help or what.Seems everyone has an attitude anymore.The food is still good but if the order is wrong look out they get really snippy about it and their policy about sitting you right on top of someone else when there are plenty of seats sucks fish heads. My friends like to go there. I haven't found these people particularly friendly. It's just business. They ask how the food is when paying my bill; however, they're not truly listening. I was told Greeks owned and operated this restaurant. Because of that, I expected a different environment other than "business only", eat fast and get out. I've gone there because the group I am with wanted to go there (I've been there 4 or 5 times and it's always been that way). If we go again, I will order a salad and that's all. I don't like the feeling of being in a well-oiled machine instead of a restaurant where I'm supposed to enjoy my food in a congenial atmosphere. The Greeks I know in the restaurant business, including my father who ran a successful restaurant from the early 1920's until the mid-1970's, are friendly. They not only anticipated their patrons, they are happy to see them. The people working there strike me as being "under the gun" and their only job is to take orders, bring food and get money without taking a breath. I understand busy. I just think "busy" can still be done with a smile and genuine concern for ones patrons. If I end up with a group that wants to go there, I'll go and it's my hope the idea of hospitality has emerged there. I grew up in a Greek environment of exceptional hospitality extended by my parents and my father had that same welcoming hospitality in his restaurant. There are people who still remember him and his restaurant even though he sold his restaurant in the early 1970's to another young Greek man and moved with his wife to retire in Southern California. I guess I write this critique of a Greek restaurant because it is disappointing to me when Greeks forget what is great about them ... their hospitality! Greece is composed of numerous regions and outlying islands. In ancient times its scattered city-states each had their own dialects and customs. Amazing food with an amazing team. Our server brought out endless amounts of the best hush puppies I've ever had. I wasn't sure what to order and he recommended the Haddock. I've never had it before and I must say it was the best fish I've ever had. The mashed potatoes weren't that great but I was already filled up on the fish and hush puppies to even try to eat them. The fried dill pickles were very good.. not greasy at all and very tasty. The hush puppies were awesome too. I got the London Fish and Chips.. they were pretty good, but in hindsight I wish I would've gotten something else. The service was good too. The only thing is.. Based on the first review we read on this restaurant we took our chances and ate here. Although the review was acurate, I was not so pleased. It's true if you get the daily specials they heap the food on you, but I ordered the "JUMBO" shrimp coctail. As the extremely nice waiter, Henry approached our table, he could see the disappointment come over my face as he brought my medium, but on the small side of medium shrimp to the table. He could tell something was wrong and asked if everything was okay. I said no, the menu says "jumbo" shrimp and these could barely be considered medium. He asked if I would like to talk to the manager, which I did. It was like talking to a wall, she had a blank expression. She was not eager to make sure I was a happy customer and offered to "take a dollar or two off." I should have sent them back because the cost was over 8.00 dollars for 6 small to medium shrimp, but like a dummy I ate them. The young man at the cash register overheard the conversation and took 2.00 off when we paid. My husband was happy with his meal, but he ordered one of the specials. My other complaint is the restrooms, they could have been cleaner. My advice.......eat what the locals are eating which is usually the specials, you will get a lot........and if you do order the "Jumbo" shrimp coctail expect to get 6 small to medium ones because the menu is misleading. read more

This place is good. A lot of fried food. The kids love the white fish. The shrimp and hush puppies are good.

I ordered off the senior menu which I do usually. I did the fantail shrimp and alaskan white, fries and cole slaw. The shrimp was fair but the whitefish was "well" overdone, barely enough fish between the breading, without a doubt the worst I've ever gotten anywhere. I'm wondering if a senior order goes to the kitchen has the help been trained or conditioned to send out the less than desirable food. I paid $13.00 for maybe $6.00 worth. Stopped for a quick bite and had a good experience. They fry stuff very well. Good iced tea and hush puppies. Quick and friendly.

Obviously the small portion complaints got around. I am stuffed! Got the peppered batter on everything too. Yum!

Ok let me first say great service and plenty of staff. About half full when I got there on 5/14/16 about 4pm but filling up fast. Ok the good: service was speedy my young waitress Tessa knew her job well and made excellent recommendations. Bloomin onion was fantastic and damn huge the meal was mixed seafood platter and had plenty of delicious items and the desert omg homemade apple dumpling was superb and not too sweet as they can be. Ok if so greet why 4 stars? When I asked for what beer they had on tap well they don't serve beer...or any alcohol for that matter and to start I really wanted a nice beer w my seafood lol. Staff was OK. Clam Chowder Soup and Salad gets 5 stars. Honestly the soup and salad had me real excited and ready for my Entrée. Once my Entrée was delivered to our table and I indulged, it wasnt appetizing one bit. Seafood is seafood. But good seafood is hard to come by. I hate leaving bad reviews but honesty is key. We had a party of 4, 3 ordered Alfredo pasta dishes. Disgusting runny sauce, with an after taste. Either jarred or soup base. I ordered filet mignon, which definitely was not a filet. Fish was overcooked and not white meat in it. Chicken sandwich was cold and greasy. Fried clams were just fried batter. French Fries tasted days old. Service was poor; took 15 minutes just to get mayonnaise for a sandwich. They charge too much for a meal to give you this kind of crappy food. Do not recommend this place. Put my name down for a table. They said 5 minutes. I sat right in front of the hostess stand. They passed over me several times. Most people probably would have checked on their place in line but I just waited. 20 minutes later Manager ask if I was waiting on a carry out. I said no I'm waiting on a seat I guess I have been overlooked. she said I'm sorry will seat you right away. Place my order for coffee and for my meal. The coffee and meal came and the food was good. Several waiters and waitresses running around but no one checked on me. I was in the first table right behind the hostess stand by the lobby. Seemed to be overstaffed with waitresses congregating in the lobby next to the hostess stand. I got no refill on my coffee and I had to wait an excessive amount of time for my bill. When I checked out I was asked was everything okay and I said not really. The cashier asked if the food was good I said yes but I felt like I was overlooked from the time I walked in the door. This place was excellent! We were looking for something relatively quick - on the go- but wanted to try the local flavor of the area! The service was fast and friendly. They brought hush puppies instead of bread before dinner (I must add that said hush puppies were so delicious that they were evil!!) - the portions were extremely generous and the food was delicious! I had a cup of New England clam chowder (which I was told was made from scratch with fresh ingredients- yum!!) and a huge garden salad with home- made honey mustard (which we were told was made on premises). My husband had a nice- sized small garden salad and the blackened catfish (which he let me taste and it was amazing!!) along with fried zucchini as a side. I have went there every sunday and some through.the week also and spent lots of money. I came in today 3/6/16 with my husband and we planned on having a nice dinner, but when we got there hostess told us to have a seat for a couple of minutes while they separated tables. We sat there and watched everybody that came in after us get called for their tables while we still sat there. I got up and went to the hostess and told her she could mark us off since everybody else had went back. I was told they had marked our name off but they had a table ready then if I wanted it. We stopped on the way home to Knoxville and was at first excited to find a seafood place so close to home, I ordered the fried platter and a bowl of lobster bisque. My food was bland as a whole, the clam strips were rubbery the bisque was very thick and way over salted. The meal in all tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. This was after being promptly seated then promptly ignored for close to 10 minutes no hellos no can I get you a drink nothing. Sorry to say we were very unhappy. The waitress realized this (good catch on her part) and did ask if we wanted to speak to management we declined and before we had the chance to pay we saw her doing so however the manager waited for the bill to be paid before approaching my wife and telling sorry that we had not enjoyed the meal. read more
