Chicken parm

Checking out Douglas Lake area, Angelos is 1 of the 2 on the lake. Menu very mainstream American, took a risk and ordered dozen oysters. Shared the chicken parm with hubs. Oysters were good tho not plumb; chix parm was huge - glad we spilt. Basically paying for views, service was friendly but slow and food meh.

Angelo's is a restaurant in a prefect spot on a peninsula on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN. The food is good, and the service is friendly. The ambiance is amazing. The inside has windows all around that have good views of the lake. The outdoor seating allows you to have amazing lake views. The restaurant has lots of seating in a big open area and can handle larger groups. There is a full bar in the back right. On the back, there is an 2-3 tiered porch with table on each level. They also frequently have live music.

3 stars for the awesome view and location on the water. We sat outside on the lower patio. Warning - There are no smoking signs posted but not enforced - there were several people lighting up. I should have requested to move inside but you come here to sit outside. Our server was friendly and fairly attentive. Food: My guy ordered chicken tacos even after I warned him this is not the place to order tacos. The presentation was nice but the tacos were meh. No real flavor I ordered wings as I wasn't that hungry - per menu they were smoked and would be served with a crispy exterior. The wings were served a little undercooked and definitely not crispy so I asked if they could be cooked a little more which they did. I couldn't taste any hint of smoke flavor but they were alright. I asked for a side of their thai chili sauce While we were waiting live music started up which was nice.

My family and I dined in here today on 6/13/25 for dinner with some friends. The lake is absolutely beautiful. We walked down to the dock while we were waiting to be seated and we seen turtles in the lake. That was so awesome. I love turtles. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our waitress was really sweet and nice just not efficient. She was forgetful, she forgot to bring a high chair we requested, and she also forgot about the wine my friend ordered and when my friend asked for it a second time she brought the wrong wine but she didn't charge us for it. That is why I'm giving 5 stars because besides that the food was amazing and that is the best part. We tried a few appetizers. I was expecting our fried oysters to be in the shell but they were not. They were however yummy, just presented differently than I expected. Food was great. The restaurant was nice and the views are amazing. We got the best of both, we got to see sunshine on the lake and a storm rolled in. I would love to come back and dine in here again.

Meatloaf, roasted brussel sprouts and red skinned potatoes!

This place is honestly only good to go to when it's summertime and you want to enjoy the nice weather and drinks out on the patio. Do not go here to expect good service or service at all. I've been here a few times but only have eaten here once. The last time I came here it was Easter and they had live music and an Easter special lunch / dinner menu. There weren't many people there this day which was nice since it was a holiday. After the live music was done playing on the patio most people left and the restaurant was pretty dead. So we go inside and sit down at a table, there was only one other table that had people at it and then us. The other tables waitress waited on them and we sat there for like 25 mins with not one person coming up to us. So I go outside to speak to a couple of waitresses that I said hi to when I came in and told them the situation, they apologized and went and got someone. Then 10 mins later a different waitress comes up to us and apologize stating she thought someone else had taken our table. The only saving grace for this place is their meatloaf which was recommended by a regular during the live music. Seasoned potatoes could have been cooked a little longer and the crispy brussels sprouts were so hard like they weren't cooked at all and as you can tell by my picture there was no crispness to them. My friend got their rib eye, and it was RAW, if you're going to charge steakhouse prices you better know how to execute the steak well. Mind you there's no one really here, there was more staff than customers so everything should have been on point. Our waitress was all over the place and kept forgetting one of our drinks or something, it was all just a mess. The only way I'm coming here is for the amazing meatloaf but getting it to go or when the weather is nice out again to enjoy drinks while looking out at the lake and listening to their live music.

Outside - great place !

Really liked this place. Was near a school my son is looking at for college and we dropped by before his college appointment. We were super early and they had just opened so we had the whole place to ourselves. And it was a very cool place to be. The food was very fresh and I really liked the crab cakes and he liked the shrimp as well. Will be going back to try it out again the next time we are in town for sure!! You gotta try it!

The manager (I think his name was Dave?) saw us waiting up front and came over to make sure we'd been helped.... And chatted with us until the host came back in to seat us. Our server was MaKayla, and she was an absolute delight! Such a good personality and an absolute gem! She made sure we had everything we needed (including multiple trips to get me more lemons for my crab plate lol)! Drinks were refilled quickly too. She was also very respectful, helpful and kind with our adult son who has special needs -- she listened patiently as he ordered (in GREAT detail lol), brought him to-go containers (& cup) and just honestly made him feel seen and heard! I had the snow crab platter, which was very obviously fresh (found out they have trucks bringing them in fresh from Maine 3 times per week!). Such good crab! They even had the little scissors which made shelling it so much quicker and easier! My husband had flounder and fries and then fish tacos and a shrimp taco - BIG tacos! Our son chose the Korean chicken wings and fries -- the wings were VERY BIG too.... We all left very full and even with some to take home with us. Would definitely rate this place 10/10!

The manager stopped by at our table to see if everything went well and if we were enjoying our food. (Which we were!!) the grilled Caesar salad was scrumptious, and the kids Mac and cheese was finger licking good! You could tell that the Mac and cheese was house made because it tasted super fresh. The decoration inside was cool and definitely gave sea food vibes. The food came out very quickly as well as desert. I recommend the cheesecake it was velvety goodness. Even though the menu font was a tad hard to read and the key lime pie was more of a cheesecake feel, it's still a no brainer. 5 stars!!!

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and I believe there's also a bar area. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from appetizers and gumbo to customizable seafood boils with different seasoning and spice options. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu. If I ever find myself back in Tennessee, I'd definitely come back to Storming Crab!

Don't let the reviews scare you away! If we had listened to some of the reviews on Yelp and Google,…read morewe never would have tried this place--and that would have been a shame because we had a DELICIOUS dinner! We drove by Captain Jim's on the Parkway and immediately knew we wanted to try it. Then we checked the reviews... and honestly, they almost talked us out of it. We decided to take one for the team and give it a try anyway, and we are SO glad we did! As soon as you walk in, you'll definitely get that seafood smell, but it wasn't overpowering at all. If anything, it just made us even hungrier--and that's a good thing when you're walking into an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet! The buffet stayed stocked with hot, fresh food the entire time we were there. There were plenty of choices, including: Crab legs Baked fish Fried fish Two kinds of potatoes Corn Green beans Pot roast Chicken Ribs Fresh salad bar with lots of toppings and dressings Rolls Dessert, which they bring out after your meal and is included with the buffet! The baked cod was SO good. It had a delicious crust, wasn't overcooked, and had that perfect flaky-but-not-dry texture you want from baked fish. The crab legs were overflowing on the buffet the entire time we were there. They were super easy to crack open and incredibly sweet. Definitely a favorite! The mahi-mahi was cooked perfectly, and the fried fish had what I thought was the perfect batter-to-fish ratio--not a giant ball of breading hiding the fish. Our waitress was also wonderful. I believe her name was Sheda. She was warm, welcoming, and took the time to explain everything since it was our first visit. She really helped make our dinner a great experience. The restaurant itself was clean and had plenty of seating inside. I could definitely see the parking lot filling up quickly during busy times, but once inside, there was plenty of room. Overall, we are SO glad we ignored the reviews and tried Captain Jim's for ourselves. Sometimes you just have to make your own experience, and ours was a very good one. The food was hot, the buffet stayed stocked, the seafood was delicious, and the service was friendly. Would we go back? Absolutely! If you're in Pigeon Forge and considering Captain Jim's, I'd say give it a try and decide for yourself. We're glad we did!

Several items were lukewarm rather than hot, and the fried seafood had lost its crispness. The seafood itself was average at best and did not taste especially fresh. The buffet area also needed more attention. A few pans ran low and were not replenished quickly, while some serving stations looked messy during the meal. For the price, I expected better food quality, more consistent temperatures, and a fresher rotation of dishes. The staff were polite, and the restaurant has a casual, family-friendly atmosphere, but the buffet did not deliver enough value to justify the cost. With fresher food, cleaner stations, and quicker refills, it could be a much better experience.
