Just had lunch at Captain's Galley in Gresham - great foot cart! The clam chowder was thick with great flavor. The fish was crisp with a nice seasoning, complimented by the tarter sauce. Fun part was the chips that were actually thinly sliced potatos, cooked and seasoned to perfection with a spicy dipping sauce.

Dang! Surprise secret fish and chips place. Possibly the best fish I've had deep fried esp at a food truck. So friendly, gave us free bottled water, hot and fresh and great seasoning. Love love their dill tartar sauce and siracha mayo! Will hope to come back soon, very near the Eastside Timbers Sports Complex

Great Fish & Chips! I have very little extra money for anything, but once a month I try and eat out somewhere local. I remember this place from when they were on E Powell in downtown Gresham, but I never quite managed to try it. Wish I had. The cart pod they're in now, thanks to the construction on Powell, was fairly difficult to get to, but worth it in the end. I had the 3 piece Fish meal and the fish flaky and tender and not the least bit mushy. Nice firm delicious fish. Even the Chips (French Fries) were great. Crinkle-cut with just the right amount of salt, also not greasy. There were only three food trucks open and the pod itself was looking pretty sad. I'll chalk it up to a rainy Tuesday and annoying construction. I can't eat here often, but I will be back!

Alway excellent chowder. Lots of large chunks of clam, and a generous portion, too. Plus, very friendly service.

We had the Steak bites with Onions and Mushrooms, side orders of fries, side orders of wings, and Tacos. Food was what you'd expect at a Dive Bar. Everything's affordable, my tab only came out to $38 which shocked me. They have a Jukebox box which you can link to your TouchTunes if you have the app. There's lots of seats inside and out. It seems like it has a lot of regulars. Sam was our bartender for the night. She's very quick witted, multitasks without issue, and engages with all of the customers. Sam was very attentive, and came to clear our table as the empty glasses, and bottles started to pile up. There was another staff member there briefly who wiped the table down for us prior to seating, did not get her name. We went on a Tuesday night, small crowd, temperament was mild. No security presence that night but it doesn't seem like it was necessary for the type of crowd. If you're in the area, it's definitely a solid dive bar to check out. If it was closer to me i'd be a regular. Will keep this place in rotation when I travel back out to that side.

The food is really good and drinks hit the spot every time, and there's always something going on, whether it's video poker, horse betting, or the occasional poker night and other fun activities. One of the standout features is the large outdoor patio, complete with TVs and heaters, making it a great hangout year-round. That said, it can get pretty packed, and since smoking is allowed out there, the space can fill up with cigarette smoke--which isn't ideal for everyone. Even with that, I genuinely love this place. If I could suggest anything, it'd be adding a separate outdoor area in the back for non-smokers to kick it and bringing back karaoke nights. That would take an already good spot to the next level!

We have been longtime local customers of this restaurant for years and supported this business even…read morethroughout COVID. After what happened last night, I am extremely disappointed to say I don't know that we will ever return. Back in April, I ordered nachos during a visit with family. There was very little cheese, so I asked for some additional cheese to be brought out. It took roughly 20 minutes to arrive, and by that point I had already eaten what I could of the dry chips. Our family member, who was dining with us and witnessed the experience, later chose to leave a one-star review about it. To be very clear, the nachos were mine, but the review was his. Last night, the four of us decided to come back and give the restaurant another chance. I ordered the nachos again, and this time they actually looked fantastic. Before I even had a chance to eat them, I stepped away to wash my hands. On my way back to the table, our waitress stopped me and asked if everything was okay at the table. I initially thought she was simply checking on our experience. Instead, she told me she remembered me, accused me of leaving the one-star review from April, and proceeded to tell me how that review had hurt her bartenders. I was completely caught off guard. I did not write the review, but beyond that, I could not understand why I was being confronted about a months-old review while returning as a paying customer and trying to enjoy dinner. I felt cornered and attacked, and I genuinely didn't know what she expected from that conversation. When I had enough, I told her I was done discussing it and returned to my table. That should have been the end of it. Instead, she followed me back to our table and continued the confrontation in front of my husband and our friends. The situation escalated to her berating and yelling at our entire party. Our tabs were closed, and we left. I understand that negative reviews can be upsetting to restaurant employees, and I understand there are two sides to every customer-service issue. But customers should be able to share an honest experience without worrying that they--or someone associated with them--will be confronted about it months later when they return. What is especially disappointing is that we came back. We didn't write this restaurant off after one bad visit. After years of supporting a local business, we gave it another chance. And ironically, the nachos looked great this time. There a million ways this could have and should have been handled differently and would have had a very different outcome. The simplest would have been if our waitress simply said, "I remember you had an issue with the nachos last time and I want to make sure we got them right tonight," I would have appreciated it. That would have been a great way to turn a previous bad experience into a positive one. Instead, I was confronted/attacked about a review I didn't write. And when I clearly ended the conversation and walked away, I was followed back to my table where the confrontation continued and escalated to our entire party. That crossed a line for me. We went in hoping to give a longtime local favorite another chance. We left feeling targeted, embarrassed, and unwelcome. After supporting this restaurant for years, I never imagined this would be the experience that might ultimately keep us from coming back.

It took a while to get my order, but it seemed as if they hired a new worker and were showing him he ropes on how to properly make a good cheesesteak sandwich. The person teaching seemed like he had a passion for the craft of assembling and making the sandwich. But needless to say, he did, because it was pretty fire in my opinion. The beef was delicious! Very well seasoned and accompanied by the onions and swiss cheese, the sandwich was to die for! The peppers worked extremely well, and the roll that they used was super soft and toasted as well. The presentation of the sandwich was simple, but you're able to peer directly in and see all the ingredients inside the sandwich. Beef was tender and each bite was a melty, cheesy, burst of flavor in my mouth.
