The coleslaw is better than any other fast food place. I also always get a cup of the chowder. Better than any I've had visiting our beautiful coast. Today I tried the pick two meal with catfish and shrimp and it was amazing. Fresh lemon on the catfish and cocktail sauce for the shrimp made everything pop. Everything here taste fresh. It is a bit of a drive for us to get there but that isn't stopping if from becoming a regular with us.

Right now Captain's Galley is hidden behind a newly arrived red psychedelic-painted Mexican food truck. The food is as delicious as ever. Fried but not greasy, no old oil taste. My usual order is fish, shrimp and clams, chips instead of fries. All made fresh to order. The chips are to die for, fried just right. The breading in the clams, shrimp and fish has just the right amount of seasoning. They are so not greasy that I can eat them all as finger food and wiping my fingers off on a napkin doesn't leave greasy streaks. All are served with a little coleslaw, generous amounts of cocktail sauce, a spicy but not too much so dipping sauce, and the best tarter sauce I ever had in my life. I found something new to make me happy. They have delicious fish tacos! Before trying these I had fast food fish tacos that were more crunchy breading than fish. Captain's Galley brings the fish! Perfectly seasoned fish with toppings in proportion and a nice drizzle of sauce. Now when I go back it's a tough decision as to what to get. If you ever in your life liked New England clam chowder, get yourself on over to Captain's Galley for theirs. I've had New England clam chowder many times in New England and this is so much better! It comes with oyster crackers. This clam chowder is fresh enough that it can survive 2 days in the refrigerator and still be delicious.

Thought I wouldn't like the slaw because I usually hate coleslaw but it was unlike any American slaw I've ever had. So delicious and unique tasting, and paired with the crunchy katsu was just delicious. The fries could use some more crunch but the sandwich makes up for it.

This location is also a bit small so not really suitable for big groups. We came on a Friday for lunch and there's only 1 kiosk so it takes a while for big groups to order and I don't think they have a person starting another order if it gets too busy. They were out of a couple of the drinks for the kids menu, which was okay because there were 2 other options. Not once did the staff interact with us or say hello to us. The wait time for the food was ok but the server basically ran and threw the food at our table without ever saying anything to us. I ordered a pork katsu sandwich and the pork was VERY dry. I also ordered it normal but when she threw it on the table, she mumbled something "it's not spicy" and but there was clearly some red powder on it and looked like my friend's sandwich that she ordered spicy. We went up to ask the girl and she said they accidentally put the powder on but it's not spicy and that was it. She didn't apologize or offer to exchange it. I think it's unacceptable behavior and I was in disbelief. They were also out of ketchup and we had a whole table of French fries with the kids meals... I have been to the other location a few times and the food and service was good as far as I can remember, but this location is horrible. I will never come back again and will tell all my friends and family about my experience. 2/9- I emailed the business owner like he requested but never got a reply. Don't need to tell me to reach out if you don't care to email back. Thanks.

It didn't come with fries, but their Friday half-off appetizers more than made up for it. The portions were generous enough that an app could easily serve as a full meal, and the prices were very reasonable. The crowd leaned toward an older, laid-back clientele, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I couldn't overlook the unpleasant smell drifting over from what looked like a rotting food flatbed trailer nearby. Thankfully, the patio allows cigar smoking, which helped mask the stench and made the outdoor seating more enjoyable. I will be back!

I was very excited for the gizzards cause you don't find them a lot anymore. My first couple were fantastic and then they started getting kind of gummy because there was so much breading. I actually peeled a couple of them and had a large pile of breading and little bitty gizzards inside. Service was poor. It took forever for somebody to take my order. I received zero drink refills because they never came back. The servers were extremely nice. It's just they never came back to my table. I may or may not go back. It was not a bad experience, but it wasn't good either.
