    Shrimp dinner with a Caesar.

Just had a terrific meal at Captains Cove. I had the fried shrimp dinner which was more than I could eat and included coleslaw and fries. I also had a Caesar (similar to a Bloody Mary), which was GREAT! Pricing was very reasonable, and the service and friendliness of all of the staff was terrific. I would definitely return.

Potato chips appetizer is worth the price of admission. Fish & chips, shrimp, scallops excellent.

We were cheerfully greeted at the door and promptly taken to a table for our meal. The kids menu did not disappoint, with high quality pasta presented elegantly in a curved bowl. Salads and sandwiches, including one lobster roll, also met expectations. The chowder was rated 10/10, on account of light broth combined with hearty pieces of seafood. The one area for improvement was the unfortunate failure to distinguish between brands of cola when ordering. Despite asking for Coke, we were brought Pepsi without the requisite warning. Would return!

The Arnold Palmer was basically a raspberry lemonade with barely a hint of tea. We had appetizers - she was able to sub scallops for the shrimp(due to our allergies). We had the seafood medley and 2 mini tourtierres. The seafood was good, the smoked salmon was dyed a purple color. The scallops were good, cooked a tad bit too long, but still tasty. The beef tarts were dry and the pastry tough. While our server was enjoyable and pleasant, the appetizers were not the best, and for the price, we won't be back. Head down to the Italian restaurant (Vicinato) - you won't be disappointed!

The food was great and service was very friendly. We had a wonderful time cracking the lobster and enjoying it hot with butter. Lots to choose from for an after dinner treat -. I explained to the server it was horrible and they apologized and offered another one, but I explained I was full and could not do it. She was kind and apologetic but said it's not your fault. The lobster was soo cooked there was very little meat in the claws and what was there was stuck to the side of the shell and had to be somewhat scraped from the shell which really was not enough meat to make it worth it. I complained Ed in the way out and one of the managers said if it was over cooked they all would have been. I have been eating and cooking lobster since I was in my teens. He looked at me and said so what do you want me to do. Lots of people try this to get a meal. I said obviously you are not going to do anything and I left saying we would not be back. As a Veteran, I will pass this on to other Veterans and let them know they are probably better off to go to New Glasgow lobster suppers.

We had 4 people in our party and we were afraid of the portion sizes so we ordered 3 at the front. But the waitress told us later on that they made a mistake and said everyone needed a ticket. So we only got appetizers/dessert coupon for one person so we kind of wasted our money.... The course included full or half mussels (choice), tomato andor seafood chowder, salad then lobster either cold or hot and a non- alcoholic beverage. Variety of dessert choices at the end. Everything was good I like how they weren't seasoned but pure taste. Service was nice. Big place, good scenery, might get a little hot when it's crowded. But good place to experience seafood in PEI

Today, it's grown into a huge dining hall with a polished system--but the sense of tradition is still very much alive. The setup is simple but memorable: everything is all-you-can-eat except the main course. You'll get bowls of seafood chowder, steamed mussels, salads, rolls, and dessert included with your meal. The lobster is the star, of course--I had the 1.5 lb, and it was perfectly cooked, sweet, and tender. The sides are plentiful and satisfying, but they exist to set the stage for that big plate of lobster. Expect a line before the doors open--it's part of the experience. Service is efficient and friendly, clearly well-practiced at managing the volume. This isn't fine dining, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's about tradition, community, and sharing in a piece of PEI history. Bottom line: if you're on the island, a lobster supper here is non-negotiable. It's as much a cultural event as it is a meal.
