I have a very tight schedule due to my hybrid job and Michael made sure to confirm his visit the day before and keep me updated throughout the day on timing. He was able to identify the opening and and offer long term solutions. He sealed the opening, replaced old traps, check the radiators and vents and closets for any small holes. After several different chats, Chelsea Pet control accommodated me right away and saw me briefly after. We had an exterminator come over and spray the first two times, but the issue still did not seem to go away. Although he was extremely friendly and we loved his personality and kindness, we knew we needed a more advanced technician. We were not satisfied yet, there was definitely a lot of questions left unanswered. I messaged Chelsea Pest Control to request another technician to have another look themselves and see if someone else can figure it out, and then they sent over Sammy. In a matter of MINUTES, Sammy was able to detect the problem and what was causing this infestation! He was confident and diligent, not afraid to get his hands dirty. You can tell he works hard and is extremely determined to finding a solution NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES. He took the extra time to spray our apartment extra, give us a clear explanation on how to stop it, and answered all my questions and concerns confidently and patiently. Sammy was the technician I needed this whole time to solve all of my problems. We could have not done it without him! When I called back a forth time, to ask them to come out again, and to speak in more detail about my issue, I was accused of being insulting by the party on the other end of the phone, who identified himself as the company manager. Apparently, it's insulting for a customer to question what they're being told when they simply don't understand why it's taking so long for the treatment to work, near a month, but the company manager can be as arrogant and rude as he likes. And when I asked why the exterminator didn't put on a protective suit and climb up the five feet on a ladder it would have taken to spray the chemical into the opening of the nest, he said it couldn't be done. That was the point at which our conversation took a turn and I was accused of being insulting for questioning their methods. The manager, or so he claimed to be, rudely interrupted me in a condescending tone constantly while I was speaking, but I'm supposedly insulting. At the end of the conversation I was instructed by the illustrious manager to never contact the company again for service. Great management skills (tongue in cheek). I highly recommend that you call ANYONE else but this company for your pest control needs. They are rude and unprofessional to the core. After getting off the phone with that arrogant individual, I called Terminix. That was on a Friday, they arrived and sprayed the nest the following Monday morning. Two days later the nest was dead. I hired Westex to begin with because I believe in supporting local business. But after my experience with them, I'm beginning to rethink my logic with regard to that. He said he "didn't see anything," like I wouldn't have cleaned up the massive amounts of droppings with a dog in the house, just so he could have seen them. He checked the traps and said "they aren't taking the bait, so.." and trailed off with a shrug. He put more bait behind the fridge, and NOTHING ELSE. He left in a hurry, probably annoyed he wasn't bending me and my family over for a few hundred extra bucks. IF YOU HAVE A PEST PROBLEM, DO NOT CONTACT THIS COMPANY!! You are better off going to Home Depot, asking someone to help you find some traps, and save yourself $200. Around two weeks ago, I contacted the service number for Orkin Pest Control, which reached their…read moreheadquarter call desk. They then asked me about the issue I was having (wasp concern, few coming in a day, wanted someone to inspect, which is free, or so they claim). In the event that full-service pest-control was determined to be required upon full inspection, I agreed to a price of $392.32 plus tax and added warranty through the end of this year making the pre-authorized total $432.42 if they were to provide the full suite of removal/extermination services (because remember the inspection is "free"). The call desk rep ensured that this is merely a pre-authorization for the maximum cost of pest removal services, should the severity of the issue during the inspection require the full host of services. The cost of services performed on that day would be determined then and the payment would reflect the scope of work provided. The inspection: Their specialist not only came 45 minutes before their arrival window, when I missed their call because I was outside walking my dogs, saw that I had two missed calls and a notification saying my service had been CANCELLED... luckily I only missed the call by 2 minutes and was able to catch the specialist, but the fact that I could have lost the appointment all together due to poor timing on their part was pretty telling. The inspection itself was fine, the inspector found 2 inactive hives in our attic that were in such precarious places, they could not be physically removed. They were sprayed down with a few spritzes of their insectiside and dusted - took all of 5 minutes, and the total visit with inspection took no longer than 30 minutes; which he himself described as an "ad-hoc job". When finished, I asked the specialist how much I'd be charged and he said the order was put in for the full amount ($432.42), and that's what I'd be charged... He wasn't the person to quote me that or have the context but I explained that I was only to be charged for the services provided... and it seems I was charged for the full service, which this was not... Sent him on his way and called Orkin's number to take it up with them as the rep I spoke to when scheduling the inspection assured me that I would only be charged for the services provided as I was not sure I needed the full sweep of services for such an insignificant issue (2 inactive hives, a few spritzes of spray with no physical removal of either hive). . Lo and behold, I was told that I would have to pay the full $432 for a few sprays out of an aerosol can and some dust... which took the specialist all of 5 minutes to do. The disparity between the services provided for the price charged was preposterous. They immediately offered a $50 discount, which was unsatisfactory to say the least (if anything, that should have been the price for their service today) that would mean I'd be paying $382 for a few pumps of spray and dust... I then asked to speak to that person's manager and asked for a price breakdown of the services I am paying for... the manager of the Elmsford branch asks me how long the specialist was at my house (no more than 30 minutes) tells me the cost includes the inspection as well as the removal of the two inactive hives and the sprays..... You mean the inspection that was ADVERTISED AS FREE everywhere on your website and google, etc?! Essentially I was being asked to pay close to $400 for 5 minutes of spraying with NO REMOVAL of any sort. I eventually told her that the specialist that came to my house told me personally that had I contacted the local branch, I would've been able to secure a significant discount and that I couldn't because I called the main number (call center) listed on google, which then led her to discount the price further, on the condition that the warranty be voided. I agreed as I no longer can trust the integrity of their work or business policies. To make matters worse, I continue to have MORE WASPS than ever entering my home and have had to call a secondary pest-control company to take care of the issue properly. Needed to share the horrendously, shady business practices of this company. They're headquartered in Georgia, and their call center reps are not relaying proper and accurate information for when they send service orders to their local branches. BEWARE: they price gauge and operate on shady, non-transparent, and unethical business practices.
