I recently visited the Winder Georgia location where I am a regular customer. This time, I ordered a grilled salmon with two sides: green beans and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, they informed me that they were out of mac and cheese, so I opted for a baked potato instead, agreeing to an additional charge. After waiting several minutes, I was disappointed to learn that they didn't have baked potatoes either. I requested a refund for the upcharge, but they insisted I choose another menu item, which I didn't want. They refused to refund the extra charge. After waiting for the manager on duty she claimed I was being "rude" and refused to provide her name when I was merely explaining the situation. I have a video recording of the incident and am willing to share. The manager seemed aggravated when I didn't accept her excuses and started treating me unfairly. The appropriate response would have been to refund my money with no excuses, especially after wasting so much of my time. However, the unreasonable manager felt it was appropriate to blame everything on me and even threatened to call the police. Unless this ridiculous and unfair treatment is addressed, I will never return to this location or any other Captain D's location ever again despite being a regular customer. I will also be sharing my experience to my close friends and family who also have enjoyed Captain D's. I was unfairly humiliated and deeply disappointed by the experience and am in hopes that you will make it right. Thus is the rude manager that would not give me her name and threatened to call police on me and told her employees to call police on me for no damn reason! Infuriating!!! read more

Whoever is the shift manager on 10/17 should be terminated!!! After placing an Uber Eats pick-up, I got the "order ready" and headed to pick up my order On arrival, I was told it was not ready (while the app said ready). The shift manager come and stated "come inside and wait for your order". It was obvious I had kids in my car, can't leave them. So, I said NO, the app says "ready" so what's up?! She said "I am the manager and I said pull forward", not a good convo. So, I did the most respectful thing, said NO not pulling forward. My order says ready, What's up?! Just stay away!!! read more

We picked up our food from the drive through. The service was good and our order was correct. If you are craving some greasy fried fish and chips then this fits the bill. This store can be busy at times. You only eat this stuff in moderation. High sodium high fat diet is not good for anybody except on a rare occasion. read more

Went to the Winder location & was told they were open inside but when we went inside the grumpy lady said it's only carry out only but they don't close until 10:00pm & this was around 7:00pm. When we got our food it didn't taste good the coleslaw tasted like it had been sitting there for day. The fish & chicken was greesy as all get out. The food was great, but the staff was lacking. The person taking our order was argumentative and kept making snide comments. My boyfriend tried to order the whitefish, shrimp and crab dinner. He stated the whitefish dinner and when I noticed that the order said just whitefish I tried to clarify that he wanted it with shrimp and crab. She said "that's not what he ordered" under her breath. Once our order was completed my boyfriend handed her his American Express. She ran it and said "no one accepts American Express", which, ironically, this establishment does. The same worker brought out food out and made sure to point out to my boyfriend that he got a bonus crab shell since his meal did not come with it. She pointed it out several times that he did not pay for the crab shell. My boyfriend ordered whitefish, shrimp and crab, which did come with a crab shell. I checked the receipt to ensure that was his order and it was. I have been here several times and never had an issue. Poor service, workers eating food around counters and sitting around talking about needing money for extra after work "fun"

I don't know if they hired new, lazy workers or what! I have been going to this Captain D's for 16 years! Today was the worst service and food I have ever heard happen to anyone! My husband went to get our dinner tonight. 2 3pc fish meals, fried green tomatoes, and an order of the new Creamy Shrimp Scampi. He walked in and they weren't busy at all. So he placed his order and then proceeded to wait for over 40 minutes for them to make it while taking a few other people's orders that left way before he did. Not only did they not care they laughed and joked with themselves about it. And the food was made like crap! First time ever I have been so mad about how this place did things. The hushpuppies looked like they had been bit into in one of the 3pc meals. The Creamy Shrimp Scampi is well frankly scampy (very little). Then on top of that they just threw it into the box it seems. As of today they have lost our business. That kind of service, bad day or not, is unacceptable. read more

It was about noon on a Saturday and we waited almost 20 min for fish & chips..really ?! It was not busy and there was only another couple already seated and eating. Fish and fries were cold to the touch when we finally got them. My son ordered the Scampi and it was translucent , raw and cold as well. Asked for a credit on my credit card. They couldn't comprehend how to do that so they gave me cash back.Took almost 10 minutes just to get that sorted out . Another group also asked for refund because they couldn't wait any longer. I will not be returning to this establishment any time soon. They are inept or incompetent at best, or perhaps it was everybody's first day at running a restaurant. read more

The problem with these reviews is people saying their wait was to long. Captain D's is fish. Fish is made to order and requires a proper cook time. With that being said my food has always come in an expected time and is hot and cooked thoroughly. The young blonde haired manager who took my order was extremely sweet and kind. She even brought me my food her self. They give out pagers and bring you your food which is unlike any other food chain out there. I've tried their fish, chicken, and shrimp all of which are amazing. Environment is always clean and friendly I even often say hello to the cook when I visit as he too is very kind and outgoing. I would not recommend the drive thru because as I said the food is cooked to order so you will be in line for a while. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who enjoys seafood. Captain D's is great seafood at a great price. read more

I ordered the 12 butterfly shrimp special and apple pie bites to eat in. Everything was good. I only had to wait about 4 min an it's 1215pm. The manager came out and asked everyone how the food was. Very unexpected. All the cashiers were very friendly. If you eat in they give you your buzzer things and bring your food to you. That's pretty cool. read more
