I think this is perhaps one of the BEST seafood fast food / battered fish I've ever had. The fish fillet was marinated to perfection and fried to golden. The hard, and crispy exterior completely locked all the juices in. The juice literally bursted out onto my hand and all over the table when I bit into it. It was so satisfying and delicious. The shrimp was also a must order! For the sides, the green beans was perfect. I don't think I've had such great green beans since I came back from the South & Harlem. Amazing soul food flavours - it got cooked to the point that it melts into your mouth, with a hint of spice and flavourful meat in it. Damn that was good. In addition, the price was super reasonable and the counter was super friendly and helpful too. What an amazing spot - I'll come back often.

Food is great value! I got the spicy chicken burger and it was quite large. The combo came with a good amount of fries and a large drink as well. Service was quite fast and while the ambiance was pretty dull, I didn't expect it to be lively or anything. My only gripe with it is that the sandwich was a bit bland, it just tasted warm. Quite filling though

DELICIOUS & AUTHENTIC SEAFOOD ITALIAN CUISINE…read more I made reservations a few days in advance and was told that only the heated patio was available. But I knew this place was a gem when they called back the day after to inform me there was a cancellation and was now able to move our reservation indoors. I loved that! FOOD: - Complimentary bread tasted nice with the tomato sauce. - Calamari e Gamberi Fritti ($30) tasted so fresh and delicious! For a fried appetizer it wasn't too heavy between sharing for two. The portion was hearty for two and the size of the calamari and shrimp wasn't small. - Captain's Caesar salad ($15) tasted great as we expected for a Caesar salad and also fresh! It was also a good size for two. - Sea Bass Branzino From the Grill ($39) was a great choice! The garlic-lemon butter sauce was incredibly paired with the freshness of the fish and intensified the whole dish. I chose the side option of risotto blanco which was also a perfect pairing! - King Crab Papardelle ($46) was another great tasty choice! It came with multiple pieces of crab legs which were halved. The sauce and texture of the pasta was amazing! - Tiramisu ($13) was the best tiramisu I've had. I love a tiramisu with a strong espresso taste and this one did not disappoint. SERVICE: Our server was very attentive and friendly, as well as the other staff members that helped us out! AMBIENCE: The restaurant is within the same building as their market/grocer. A family-friendly Italian establishment and very hospitable greetings. The smell of fresh seafood even makes it better. I'd definitely return and try out more of their seafood and pasta dishes! And of course their Tiramisu.

Paella anyone? I bet you haven't heard that in a while. And…read morehonestly, who knew it was such a Portuguese thing too? We all know Spain made it famous, but Portugal? INSANE. Back to why I do this. I'm endlessly curious about food, people, and the magic that happens when great meals meet good music. Friendships just seem to evolve naturally around a table. And thank you, E, for another incredible photo -- your choices are always perfect. Mercado on St. Clair is a hidden gem. What was once beside my mom's flower shop downtown has now found a home in a slightly more industrial setting on Caledonia -- and somehow, it works perfectly. Cozy seating inside, a great covered patio outside, and that village-style European restaurant vibe you hope to stumble across. First off, the waiter was phenomenal. He walked us through the menu, explained everything perfectly, and genuinely elevated the whole experience. The menu is massive -- meat, seafood, everything you could want -- but we came for the paella. We were told it takes time because they make it the proper way. Not overly crispy, just authentic, rich, and layered with flavour. Worth every minute of the wait. To start, we had the gambas / shrimp in a rich red garlic and herb sauce plus extra toasted bread for dipping, per our waiter's recommendation. Absolute rockstar move. The other appetizer was a delicious beef stew served over crunchy rustic bread. Simple, hearty, and top notch. Now... drum roll please. This may have been the best paella I've ever had. Okay okay, maybe somewhere along the coast in Spain I've had one fresher... but this was absolutely off the charts. Zero fishy smell. Just beautiful saffron-infused rice with that perfect slight crisp, loaded with mussels, clams, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and more. Built for two people to share and completely unforgettable. A few glasses of house white later and bam - there was absolutely no chance I was going back to work. And dessert? I kept telling myself: "No dessert, Frank. No dessert." But there's a rule in life ; if you see crème brûlée on a menu, you order it. This wasn't exactly crème brûlée, but a cheesecake-inspired version of it. Two spoons, four bites, and thank you very much. Favourite meal of the year so far. Completely blown away by this place. Mercatto -- go now. Go fast.

Service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious. We were a party of thee and ordered a plater that served us well. All ate from the Beira Mar platter and all meats and seafood were cooked well to order. Fantastic place for a night out or a get together with other friends family or special occasion.
