Staff were beyond friendly. Cons -- THE FOOD!! We had pork belly and duck confit appetizer. Pork belly was drenched in sauce and overcooked. Duck dish was good but was a spread and served with such a small amount of bread. Main courses -- presentation was terrible -- i ordered NY Strip with french fries and veggies. Hubby ordered jambalaya -- both dishes were served luke warm and looked as though they had been sitting. French fries were all tiny pieces as if they were at the bottom of the fryer. The steak was a poor cut. The jambalaya lacked flavor. The protein on the dish was all overcooked. Dessert THE Elvis -- sounded sooo delicious but was basically a spoonful of peanut butter. Even the ice cream they served with it could not drown out the overpowering peanut butter flavor. I did enjoy the cappuccino. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and he didn't even eat his meal. It was that bad. Sadly, one and done for us. I know they changed their menu so perhaps this is not their best lineup but I cannot forgive the terrible presentation. The price point for what they are presenting its insane.

Why the hate for this spot?…read more Is it fancy? Hell no, but that's the point. Up the creek is a no-frills hybrid sports-dive-bayside bar that serves up cheap food, cheap drinks, and cheap company, in the best possible way. You're not coming here to be fancy, you're coming to watch the Mets, Yankees, Giants, or Jets on one of the huge TVs they have everywhere, while sucking down 3$ beers, and when the time calls for it, a porkroll* with cheese on a roll and an order fries. You can choose the bar, a high top, or the outdoor bar when the weather is nice enough (you'll always find me at the bar). There are some stairs to get up here, but you'll be rewarded with a view of the marina...and route 35....and if you look hard enough the parkway....ok there are stairs that lead up to a bar, that's all you gotta know. It's the perfect spot to catch the game and hang with the locals. Come in, say hey to Linda, and drink enough that you need some greasy food to make everything feel better. Doesn't get much better in my humblest of opinions. _____________________ *Call it "Taylor ham" and you're dead to me.

Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed on their second story outdoor deck and there is a staircase to the left of the building to go up. Depending on the season, there could be wait service or you have to go inside to order. The food menu is American-style comfort food and a full bar of drink options.

Actually, all of the pizza slices looked really good here. Nice and thick slices, which I like as a change up. When I got home, I ate these slices so quickly. They were delicious. The chicken tasted great, and had alot of cheese on it too. A mild Buffalo sauce used, but that didn't bother me. Very filling. Overall, I really enjoyed this pizza. I can't wait to come back and try out some more of their pizza slices and options!

I do suggest ordering any pasta al dente. This is one of my favorite chicken Francese entrees in the area! Since it's my favorite dish I've probably ordered it hundreds of times in NJ. The chicken is thin and cooked well, the sauce has the perfect amount of lemon, and the pasta when cooked al dente pairs great with the sauce. The staff is always professional and service is typically quick. Since this establishment does primarily takeout, expect to wait longer Friday-Sunday. Expect to use street parking, which can be a little tricky when it's busy for a quick takeout order (however I rarely have trouble except for a Friday or Saturday night). This is a classic pizzeria style restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but the food is delicious.
