If you are on Kauai - do this trip. (We did the sunset dinner cruise). You deserve it. Was a highlight of our trip, and my partner just kept saying "Epic" over and over as words failed him. First, this company is incredibly well run. It's smooth sailing (pun intended) from start to finish. Easy online sign up, good reminders, and tons of needed info was provided. We knew how to dress, how to prepare, and what to expect. The team they put together was so great. Our amazing Captain was really skilled, and you could tell she was all pro. The ride was smooth and we even got in some sailing in the lower winds. She managed some rolling waves like they were nothing and could not have felt safer. Our chef Kevin (we also learned is the company's Training Officer) did an unreal job. While we sailed, we enjoyed delicious cocktails, and a wonderful meal - tasty appetizers, really well cooked and season steak and fish, and a cheesecake treat to finish. The drink were flowing all trip long and it made this sunset dinner cruise feel like an elite party with our 45 new friends. The crew was also so great. Whether it was their charm, their attention to detail, or just their warmth, Noah, Caleb, and Timmy were top notch. They managed to do all their work, keep the ride steady, spot amazing marine life (we got frolicking dolphins AND a mama/baby whale sighting), keep us fed, run drinks, tell jokes, share stories about this lovely place they live. These guys have all the skills you need for this kind of engaging tour. And of course, the views. Now, this company didn't create this coastline - but they know exactly how to spotlight it. The views we had, the pics they took for us (the guys are pro photographers in my opinion), and the special scenes they shared with us - well, we will never forget them. So grateful for this team and how they all played a role in such a special trip event for us. Thanks!

Had such an amazing time with Captain Keanu and Izzy on the Na Pali Raft Snorkel Adventure! They were super transparent with the weather conditions the day we went and we still decided to go. Best decision ever, the day ended up being beautiful and it was an adventure of a lifetime. Totally recommend doing this at least once in your life. We saw turtles, dolphins, and sea caves. Also got to snorkel and they provided snacks and water!

I can't recommend this company and experience enough, my wife and I were able to get a last minute booking with them after another excursion was cancelled. We went with the Na Pali Raft Snorkel Tour, our guides Captain Jacob and first mate Logan were incredible from start to finish. They were extremely knowledgeable about the local Hawaiian history and all that the coast had to offer. Keep in mind the raft version of the tour is physically demanding so be wary of that but it is totally worth it. We got to swim in the open ocean off the coast, they took us inside a few of the caves (only available depending on conditions), the provided snacks and refreshments. This was hands down one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life, you will not regret it.

Absolutely incredible experience with Captain Andy's crew! Maddy and Zalin were hands down the best--so friendly, funny, and made us feel completely safe the entire time. We were lucky enough to go into the caves thanks to the weather, and Maddie navigating had us feeling at ease the whole ride. Thanks to Zalin also for keeping the energy up with his humor, sharing interesting facts about Hawaiian culture, and making sure we got back to shore safely. The crew truly went above and beyond--they even got us fresh coconuts and made sure everyone felt included (and not shy!). They also took photos for everyone in front of the Nā Pali Coast, which made it even more special. We got to see dolphins, goats, an owl and sea turtles! Thanks to the experience they created, this was easily one of the highlights of my trip--like no other. I'm so grateful for everything they did. Truly one of the best experiences of my life. 100/10, can't wait to come back!

The President was the Captain of our boat. It comes with lunch and an open bar! You'll definitely get wet so pack extra clothes if needed. The front of the boat has trampolines you can sit on. It's fun as hell when you hit the waves just right and get soaked. The snorkeling is definitely an experience you won't forget. And getting to travel along the coast, you'll see plenty of beautiful scenery and perhaps some of the marine life! Look out for the dolphins, if you get lucky, you might catch them jumping next to the boat! Recommended you also take your motion sickness pills, maybe double before the trip. The waves can get choppy.

Located at the boat dock at Ele'ele...which is where all the whale/dolphin watching boats leave from. We bought the 2 hours raft whale watching tour at 7:00am. It can fit a max of 12 people. Unlike the photos online, we didn't straddle the raft, but sat sideways with our feet under rope for safety. One boat captain and one staff came along. We got to see a mother and baby dolphin, just born that week, and some spinner dolphins. This raft was swift, and towards the end, we saw a whale breach from the water. It is definitely worth going on the earlier tours. We felt so special cuz we had an amazing crew, and we saw more whales than the other 5 companies that went out that morning. Would love to do this again!

Captain Andy's really knows what they are doing. The boat is in excellent shape, clean, newer looking and higher end. Everything feels luxury especially compared to other tourist boat tours. We did the snorkel sail to the Napali Coast. The food was excellent, the chef really put a lot into lunch, burgers and chicken with some good slaw, and a fresh cookie at the end was a nice touch. Breakfast was lighter with muffins and fruit. Staff were super friendly, they put effort into getting to know the guests and making you feel at home. Which is totally not necessary. The boat ride was fantastic, we saw so much of the Napali coast and were mesmerized. It felt unreal to experience that much beauty. We saw lots of fish snorkeling, they are very strict with allowing you to only swim in certain areas. Some of it being safety concerns. We will recommend them to everyone we know visiting Kauia. Was a next level experience for a Hawaii vacation. Totally worth every penny, and it's not cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Captain Jacob and Sawyer were absolutely amazing! Captain was honest about the weather conditions, and overall maintained communication with everyone through out the day . We went on the raft snorkeling day, and checked in around 12:30pm. We were able to see whales, flying fish and so many marine life during our snorkeling. We also went into caves which made everything even better. Thank you so much for getting us back safely and really making this trip even more memorable. I would highly recommend Capt Andy's !!

Unforgettable Nā Pali Coast Experience with Captain Andy's Hands down one of the best experiences we had on Kauai. We went to Kauai during a very rainy and stormy week and all the other companies were cancelling tours....Not Captain Andy's! Captain Rob and crew member Sawyer were absolutely fantastic--professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to be around. You can tell they truly love what they do, and it made the whole tour even better. The Nā Pali Coast was breathtaking, and the beach stop was unreal. Everything felt safe, well-organized, and relaxed, which let us fully enjoy the scenery, swimming, and snorkeling. Captain Rob shared great stories and insights along the way, and Sawyer went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Including our photographer! If you're considering a Nā Pali Coast tour, don't overthink it--book Captain Andy's. This tour is worth every penny and then some. Mahalo to Captain Rob and Sawyer for an unforgettable day!

Captain Kyler and the whole crew who took us on a tour of the Na Pali Coast did a phenomenal job! We started the trek out to the coast by seeing some dolphins and sitting on the netted area in the front of the catamaran boat. It definitely was a splash zone but so fun! They offered a light breakfast with sweet breads, muffins, and fruit. We saw the spinner dolphins who were resting but still moving. It was so cool to see! Shortly after, we stopped under a beautiful mountainside of the Na Pali Coast to go snorkeling. The water temperature was perfect and the water color was beautiful. Kyler, Tahane, and Donovan were so organized and helpful when making sure everyone was set up okay since the waves were kind of aggressive. Unfortunately I got nauseous, but Tahane prepared me that it would get worse and a tip to go to the back of the boat. Dion was our on-board chef and made delicious burgers! They were my saving grace on the boat when I wasn't feeling well. It was such a great experience and a must if you're planning a trip to Kauai!

I want to say that this was not just the best boat tour on Google -- it was the best experience on the entire island. The very next day we took a helicopter tour with the doors off, and even that faded in comparison to this boat trip. A huge thank you to Captain Keanu and his assistant Izzy. This was truly unforgettable. You created an incredible atmosphere and thought through every little detail -- the perfect vibe, the music, the smooth yet exciting ride over the waves. Everything felt effortless and beautifully curated. Keanu and Izzy did absolutely everything to show us whales and dolphins. Every time we noticed movement somewhere on the horizon, Keanu reacted immediately -- and within minutes we were right there, watching and enjoying these magnificent an creatures up close. One of the most magical moments was when the whales were close enough, and Keanu lowered a special device into the water so we could actually hear the whales singing. It was beyond words. Truly unforgettable. Goosebumps. And seeing the island from the ocean -- it's simply breathtaking. Powerful, , alive, and unbelievably beautiful. Thank you for the emotions, the care, and the memories that will stay with us forever. You are the best.

    Part of Na'Pali coast

Went on Na'pali Coast tour it was incredible. Capt. Micah navigated us to awesome views with plenty of history along the way. Crew members Timmie and Koa keep the cruise lively and were more than attentive. We were lucky enough to not only see the breathtaking landscapes but were treated to humpback & pilot whales. Not often an excursion is better than advertised. Forgot to mention Chef Kevin, the Mahi & Steak were cooked perfectly.

This was my second tour by boat around the Napali Coast. This coast is the prettiest I've seen in my life and I wanted my daughter to experience it. Our last tour was by raft which was quite rough. These waves are not calm and can rock the boat (pun intended). Captain Andy's provides catamarans that devour the big waves which make the ride so much more bearable than a raft. However, you do pay the price for the luxury. They also provide coffee, ice cold water, soft drinks, and other services like knowledge about the islands. My daughter had a cut on her leg from the day before and one of the crew members brought us three different bandaid options for her. I thought that was great attention to detail. Dinner is what's expected on a boat feeding 30 guests. You get appetizers (the best part), bread with cheese and delicious prawns. You get an option of mahi mahi and filet for your entree and a salad. We sat next to a couple who were not comfortable during dinner due to the boat inactivity. When the boat is standing still, it rocks and rocks which can lead to getting seasick. I felt it a little and others felt it more. I loved this tour and I hope to continue taking tours of the Napali Coast, hopefully finding one a little shorter than this five hour sunset cruise. I think it was an hour too long. Although, if this is what I have to endure to get a beautiful view like the Napali Coast, then I guess I'm ok with it. I appreciate the captains attention to detail and pointing out important parts of the tour like the wettest place in the world.

The end of a great evening!

Is the ocean too choppy in early March for a Na Pali Coast sunset dinner cruise?

Hi, never been on this type of cruise before. It's already pretty pricy but what would the appropriate tip be? I'm reading online that is expected?

For the meal and the experience, I think the price is reasonable. Three of us went on the cruise and we each tipped $20. Given the excellent steak dinner and the outstanding service we received, the staff definitely deserved their $60 tip from us.

    Do they have vegan food?

Yes they do. You have to order in advance though.

Is this cruise tour a pretty smooth sailing in the beginning of April and back friendly for individuals with a history of back problems?

Depends on the day and time of year. There can be large waves. The ride is not rough because you are traveling relatively slow. But it is bumpy. It's up and down over the waves.

Trying to choose between the 2 sunset sails along the Napoli coast! Is it worth the extra $30/person for the "star" sunset sail?

Possibly. We weren't made aware of it, when we booked our 'cruise', so we didn't know. However, it sounds more relaxing than the one we went on.

Is the evening sunset "romantic experience" at Captain Andy's OK for a family group that wants to sail in the evening? We are 6 adults and one 10 year old.?

I think it can go either way. I was there with my husband and in laws and was a lot of fun! But we saw a few couples having their moments. It was one of the best times we all had. Food was really good as well. But I'd recommend some sort of sea… Read more

Captain Kai was competent, informative, and very funny, as was crewmember Vayden, and Collin's mai tais are not to be missed. The food onboard was delicious and included traditional Hawaiian pulled pork and teriyaki chicken. Scrumptious cookies and bubbly rounded out the evening. Some things to be aware of: This cruise is on a catamaran; some of our party were expecting a small cruise ship that would have been a smoother ride. Waves are bumpy, and the windier parts of the trip resembled a mild roller coaster--if that's not your thing or you know you can experience some motion sickness, please factor that into your decision to book a trip. That being said, one person in our party experienced some light motion sickness and was really well cared for by the crew. We really appreciated their kindness and support. If you have sturdy sea legs and an adventurous spirit, I'd highly recommend this excursion. The views of Kauai from the ocean are worth it alone, but the information from the captain and crew about the island and its culture are also super valuable. The whole experience also felt very safe; the cruise will not go to areas with high wind/surf, and on our trip the captain explained why he was turning out of the wind/waves when he made that decision.

And yours need to cancel, turn back, or etc. And even on a nice day, it's the ocean and the water/wind is unpredictable. Even those not prone to seasickness need to come prepared! There is plenty of ways to prep in advance and ensure your not in the middle/back looking at the deck or a bag the whole time. We saw so many humpback whales! And even a mama and her baby! As well as Hawaiian spinner dolphins! And of course the Na Pali coast line! Even on the way back blasting thru the ocean I was able to spot humpbacks in the distance. So it's also what you make of it and my husband and I really had the best time. I also want to say this but all of us are just guests on Hawaii and yes we are paying for a tour but they are stewards to showing us some of the most important parts of Hawaiian history and landscape. That is a PRIVILEGE and I think too many of us forget that. I really would like to thank Shawn, Elijah, and Jay for closing out our trip with such a memorable experience. You guys are all stars! Mahalo!!!

The water was calm enough for snorkeling, and we got incredibly lucky - we saw hundreds of dolphins, whales, albatrosses, turtles, and so much more. And that's not even mentioning the unreal beauty of the Na Pali Coast. Huge shoutout to the captain, who made it feel like a full-on adventure - taking us through sea caves, near waterfalls, and still making sure everyone felt completely safe the entire time. A few tips if you're not very experienced with boats: - Definitely bring towels and warm clothes -- it can get very windy. - Sunscreen is a must. No explanation needed. - Take Dramamine about an hour before boarding if you're worried about motion sickness. Everyone in our group took it and felt great, unlike a couple of other tourists who were clearly struggling. The worst part is when the boat stops and rocks on the waves. Another awesome bonus was the unlimited drinks, plus really tasty sanwiches and snacks throughout the tour. Highly recommend - this ended up being the best experience we had in Hawaii!

One crew member made a native woven hat and bowl and gave them away. Nice. We were closer than 30 yards from the whale and the calf and escort. By federal law 100 yards. The captain was good at sea. Cons: Smallest Catamaran in the harbor. Smallest rv toilet I ever saw, behind a tarp. No cushions on fiberglass seats for five plus hours. The picnic lunch was minimal but adaquate. Plenty of mixed sodas. Compared to the other catamarans, ours looked home made. Take your Dramamine. You ll need it.

Our pilot Kelsey was super fun as a host, and performed many thrilling moves with the raft. He also put on lots of great music to make the ride even more fun. The tour gave us excellent views of the cliffs at Na Pali, as well as close ups of some of the sea caves. We also stopped for some snorkeling and snacks at one point. Another bonus was coming across many groups of dolphins during our ride, as well as several whales. All in all, I highly recommend Blue Ocean for a fun and thrilling Na Pali Coast tour.

This is NOT for the faint of heart - or anyone who has a hard time gripping things. We are definitely sore today and we are both early 30s and active. DRAMAMINE, y'all…read more You're choosing to do the Na'Pali coast from the North Shore, which means smaller boats, and choppier waves. I took one Dramamine, the night before. Then another, an hour before our departure. AND THE BOAT RIDE WAS GREAT. I was all smiles and adventure and breathing -in the ocean air and wind! Unlike, a few folks, who were NOT doing so well. (One or two barfed over the side, but thankfully I didn't notice. Know how your body handles boats and waves. Don't do tours like this, without proper prep. It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. Spencer & Casey gave us good food and hike recommendations, and everyone treated us like friends / family. Highly recommend this team if you're going out. And you already know I highly recommend some Dramamine.

After taking it myself now, I can see why! We met Captain Greg Baptiste and copilot Caleb at Kiki'aola Small Boat Harbor at 8:45 and ended about 2:45. We were supposed to end at 2:30 but got delayed by kayakers who caused boat traffic. A 6th generation Kaua'i kama'aina, Captain Greg was extremely experienced, confident, and relaxed so we felt very safe with him at the helm, even when the boat was slapping the waters and we felt like we were on a mechanical bull ride. Luckily I didn't get seasick, so it felt a like a real life Disney ride to me. However, I don't recommend this for those who get queasy. His first mate, Caleb, took turns with him at the wheel and dove in to achor us. Throughout the tour Greg educated us with fascinating facts and tales about the geography, history, and lore of the breathtaking beautiful Na Pali Coast. One of the lessons from the legend of Na Keiki a ono iwi that resonated with me was 1.Listen to your elders 2. Do not Steal 3. You are responsible for your children's actions. (Teachers, gotta love this one!!) Highlights were the open ceiling cave and iconic "Cathedral " cliffs. We stopped for about an hour or so of beautiful clear snorkeling where we got to see turtles in addition to some beautiful and large fish. They use excellent Mantis brand snorkeling gear which I really liked and will fit you for fins. After that we were very ready for lunch! They normally cater sandwiches but something happened so we assembled our own with fixings from Costco which tasted extra good at sea! The only suggestion I would have for this business is to do a better job of briefing folks about safety and how to treat the reef. Some kids in our group were sitting and stepping on the coral. Mahalo nui Capt. Greg and Crew for an incredible day trip!! Will definitely recommend this to everyone I know!
